I’m with you in liking a “matte” finish on the flowers. It makes them much more realistic. Every time I see a poppy it brings me back to my childhood when my mom grew them in her garden. Now, that amazing mind of yours needs to dream up a way to display them in yours and your moms garden. Stay amazing and beautiful!
Hi my lovey, oh! My Goodness! Totally amazing. Wow, it looks so much fun. It opens up a whole NEW form of resin art. Just on thing I disagree with you on is the bubbles in the water - I think it adds to it, if you top up the water in a vase - you see bubbles, sorry Lou my dear friend but I think the whole thing is fantastic. Love love love it. XX
Wow! What a genius invention resin on water! I love it. Looks so real poppy flowers and the magnet, incredible 👏👏👏thanks for sharing your wonderful resin invention 🥰💗
Oh my goodness, your poppy is perfect, and so natural looking. I really need to get hold of some UV resin. My husband runs the 306th Bombardment Museum, and I think one of these on display would be beautiful. thankyou for sharing
thank you for sharing not one but 2 fun and useful techniques with UV Resin... :-) ( Can't wait to work with the iron filings and magnets... so many ideas for that one ... fun fun...)
Love this Louise! Poppies are such a pretty flower! The JDiction resins are certainly becoming some of my go-to resins for projects! The iron filings have been on my Amazon list since your first video using them! I seriously need to get on that!! Thanks for sharing!
Okay will try again. Do you have a video on how to add the iron fillings or am I just missing a simple step. Happy heart day to all and ps…where do you get them?
Thank you. A second layer wouldn’t spread the same as the first without contact with the water so it would need to be painted on. It’s best to shape it whilst thin and then put the second layer on. Thank you for a good question.
Wow! I just love your creativity. That is an amazing idea. If you like the more matte finish of the paint on the flower, might I suggest using a matte UV polish top coat? 😊
The flowers are beautiful . your technique is the best.😍😍 I wonder when you will make a video making that beautiful bouquet that you use as an introduction in each video .. thank You and greetings.
Thank you, I’m pretty sure I made a video of something similar when I first started my channel. They are greetings cards in my video intro and made in a similar way to the ones in that video. But I’m glad you said that because I haven’t made any of those in ages and you have prompted me to do just that!
What an amazing technique for a stunning flower, poppies are my favourite so I'll definitely be trying this and just hope it will be as beautiful as yours. Thanks for sharing your innovative ideas!
Lovely! It’s a great way to do poppies, which have such tissue-like petals . If you have only your own camera phone to film, why not try using a magnifying glass to show close-ups? I would definitely suggest showing from the top and then from the side. For the raised features, a side view will demonstrate the height better than a top view.
What if you floated a gum paste flower petal cutter on the surface? I'll bet it would fill the shape and you could then have separate petals to work without needing to cut bits. 🙂
Amazing❤! I, too use UV resin & a paint brush. I've found that my brush cleans up nicely with a baby wipe & alcohol then it's as good as new for the next time I need it. Thank you. 😊
ESPECTACULAR.....!!!!!
WOW! What a clever idea...I think I'm going to try this. The use UV Resin(that's the brand name, or at least that's the name on the box and the bottles😅. There's no other name just that...I know, it's quite confusing LOL) I will try to let you know if it works with mine. Don't be surprised if you start to see more and move ppl doing this..I do believe you may have just started a new trend 👍😊
Thank you very much, you just summed me up really well! The problem is, my brain is still inventing while the rest of me is trying to do other things 🤣
@@LouiseSingletonCreations I hear you sister - hyperactive brains of the world unite! Late-diagnosed ADHDer here - in my case, explains a *lot* 🥴. Love your channel, Louise - always a joy when you upload a new video. So enjoying watching you go from strength to strength.... 🏆
Hi Louise. I’ve been bing watching your tutorials for about 3 weeks now( seriously ) I’m new at resin making. The one ones I watch most are the pyramids with the lights,, #1 the memorial that was a very nice thing to do for your dad. I want to make but as a Father’s Day gift for my 2yr old grandson to give my son. I am curious as to why you didn’t just keep the cap on the bottle when you inserted it? Would a little clear plastic box work for that purpose it’s poly propylene.. I have to say you are very artistic,,, mind you here in Canada I don’t know if I can get resin pro. Any input will be appreciated Thank you. Shelley Smith
Hi Shelley, thank you so much for all of your support. I think that is a brilliant idea. The reason I took the top off the bottle was because of the ridges. If you plan on leaving the bottle in it wouldn’t be a problem but I wanted to take mine out and once the resin sets around any ridges it won’t come out. You can’t get ResinPro in Canada but you can use any resin brand as long as the resin is the right kind for the depth you want to pour.
These are stunning! I wonder if there is a UV resin that isn't so shiny, or an additive you could put in it that would make it less shiny for you; otherwise, is it possible that a matte finish sealer would work? I like them shiny, but agree with you that the painted one you showed was very nice, too. Either way, I want to try this. Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful technique with us all. Happy Creating!!!!
Thank you Jennifer, I was thinking that if the first layer of paint had resin over the top and then I did the second layer of paint I wouldn’t necessarily need to seal them at all because if the paint got scratched it would be red underneath anyway, that’s the lazy side of me speaking now!😂
@@LouiseSingletonCreations Nothing wrong with less work, great results as far as I'm concerned. I thing I will try to mix a matte sealer in with my paint when I try this. I've done a lot of searching since I watched your video, and there doesn't really seem to be any matte finish resin or a way to make the resin matte afterward other than a bunch of sanding & other steps. I hope to get to this soon. (I just moved, and it may be a while before I'm set up for crafting.)
Beautiful! What a wonderful discovery. I was thinking, as you were painting, whether it might be pretty if you used alcohol inks. The flower would be translucent, but you might get some cool effects.😎
HI Louise, Only one thing I can say Genius 🤗 Who would’ve thought U.V. Resin in water Louise, you are an absolute Genius WOW WOW WOW what an end result stunning you are so clever thank you for sharing love Lin ❤️✨ Hope Honey is do ok ❤️
Oh my goodness, you are amazing! Thank you for this (& the balloon resin pour) video!!! Steve McDonald recommended your videos, said you had great ones, & he was so right! I'm now a HUGE fan of yours as well! Can't wait to watch more of your videos. Thank you!
But we should always try to give credit to the people that discovered the technique. May I ask where you learned to cure resin in water? Because this is a technique that has been circulating these past couple months.
I absolutely agree and I give credit when it is due but in this instance I discovered the idea for myself. I am not saying I was the first to do it but I haven’t seen it done before so for me it was a discovery, if that makes sense.
Just watching this again. Stunning work and I can't find anyone else who's done this on RU-vid. I really must give it a go and make sure I credit you on the video
Actually the bubbles in the little vase made it look more realistic because when you put flowers in water, they do bubble a little... especially tulips..
That's awesome! I didn't know you could do this with uv hard resin. I use uv soft resin bc it's easy to cut like this. You should try that type of uv next. I love it. Thanks for sharing this.
I've been trying to get help because apparently I'm doing it wrong. My jdiction device has 3 settings- 60, 90, 150 seconds. Even at the lowest setting, the dye I add shrinks up and deforms the resin slightly. And when I demold, there is a sticky mess. Using high viscosity.
That is so amazing! It was so much fun to watch. Especially the centers of the flowers "blooming". I could watch that over and over again...how it wiggled before you cured it too!
Two brilliant techniques in one video! Thank you so much! I agree with you about the paint being better as a top coat. Maybe a matte acrylic varnish would be a good option? I don't want to be too negative, but I find your voice really hard to listen to and had to use cc subtitles. I think you are trying to be sweet, appealing and a bit breathy, which is popular on RU-vid, but personally I find really offputting. You have a lovely accent and a great natural voice at times, so I would love to hear a more grown up version of it. Please don't think I'm being rude. It's just my opinion. From one woman to another, strong, confident female voices are better. I'm going to subscribe
What a brilliant way to make flowers! I haven't used resin yet but I was wondering if it would be possible to apply some green tinted resin to a fine cord or twine, hang it in a glass of water and pour more resin down the coated thread to form a thicker stem? I got the idea from dipped wax candles, just wondered if a kind of combination of the two techniques would work. Thank you for sharing, your flowers are absolutely beautiful.
*@Louise Singleton Creations* Has anyone ever told you that you sound like a American actress (may she RIP) Grace Allen? She was such a lovely woman and you sound just like her. LOL
Lovely. I was happy to see you using the filings. I had a thought about them before but with epoxy and bar magnet see the kind of different patterns that could be made, so it would be nice to see more ideas as I'd never got round to trying it, too many other ideas floating round x
Its so pretty, you are so creative! thank you for sharing. I love the bubbles, it looks more realistic. New subscriber. Excited to see what else you create xx
What fun! I love the whole process, and I'm sure a lot of us will be thinking, "Why didn't I think of that!?" I say that to a lot of things lol. Wonderful video, thank you for doing it!
This technique is fantastic as centers for painted sunflowers 🌻 I can’t remember who did this on their channel but it was gorgeous! They are gorgeous Louise, I love how your brain works
Thank you Kasie, yes I saw someone try it with sun flowers after I had done my first iron filing video. I think it was Jules Madison, she loved the effect.
