The people they show in the crowd are people that have been shown throughout the film, even the ones that died. It represents what people's sacrifices have led to, and that even in death their fight for freedom of a totalitarian government have been achieved. Never forget that we all are part of a community, and if we do not fight for what we believe in we are just as guilty as the people who make the horrible decisions. If you want to blame the guilty you need only look in the mirror...

I know people already mentioned the timing of the explosions to the music, but I'm also impressed by the visuals. The people making this movie really knew how to combine image and sound to leave a lasting impression. I've never seen a movie with better musical and visual timing than this.

When I saw this in theaters I was the only one laughing out loud at this scene.

The way I see it, it's a symbol for the power of the people. V doesn't even exist, he is the revolutionary ability inside all of us. What blew up Parliament was the masses at the gates, the bomb was just for show :D

what i love about this ending is that we never get an answer as to who V was. what his name is. who he was before. because it does not matter who he was under the mask. the point that evey makes is that V lives in every one of them.

In the crowd, in the final scene, is the man who played V, Hugo Weaving. Gives me chills.

It was later on 1957 when this was finally achieved in unison thanks to some editing in studio using latest recording technology. So, what are you all listening to, not even Čajkovskij were able to, as there was not perfection achieved due to various factors as fuse delay, gunpowder failure et cetera while playing it live... Imagine being so ahead of your time that you are actually not able to listen to your own music scheme due to technology limits... not to mention the fact that Čajkovskij hated 1812 Overture by himself for various reasons, such as the suite being "too artificial"...

Here I was happy to find a high quality video of the finale and then the explosions- the bass boosted distorionate explosions started.

Oh god how I loved this movie when I first saw it in theaters!! I dreamed up a way to be disobedient and after I first saw it in theaters I went back 11 times and sneaked in and watched it. I pretty sure someone else thought about doing the same thing, maybe not 11 times though. It just felt right. I figured if I got caught I'd just tell them that it was a tribute to V. I know, it was dumb, but hey, I was a kid. Btw, I went alone every time after the 1st time, so it's not like I had a party.

Somehow, somewhere, some conspiracy theorist would still find a way to deny that Parliament blew up.

If it happened now I would applaud from my window every week for the rest of my days.

This film was scaringly more accurate a year ago, and frightingly more accurate this year. I enjoyed it a lot more recently than when it was originally released (still fantastic)
