I also have a JP exhaust. Not sure it's quite as loud as yours but gives a nice tone under high revs and doesn't become uncomfortable on long runs. 👍

The one on this car has both centre pipe delete and backbox which is why it's so loud. To be fair not crazy inside the cabin until booting it

We in the states have this same engine in our Taurus and Five Hundred, typically detuned to 200-220 HP, some even lower to maximize durability and fuel economy, it is Fords best engine ever made. And absolutely criminal of them to kill it

It's criminal how few horse power some of the V8's made back in the day. The car used in National Lampoon's Vacation had a 5 litre V8 that produced 120bhp! That's criminal! Think about the effort made to reduce a 5 litre V8 to 120bhp. But all the strangulation made no difference to fuel economy. A big underpowered car with a thirsty V8.

The diesel should never have got the ST badge, stock, the non ST 2.5 V6 is faster!

@@maxdavies9958 The TDCi St has 152bhp hits 60 in 8.4s and a top speed of 136mph, the 2.5L V6 has 170bhp hits 60 in 8.3s and has a top speed of 141mph. I have raced and beaten many TDCi ST's, it's a very close race but im faster. All I can think of is you have looked at the specs for the mk3 2.5L V6 with an auto gearbox which takes an appalling 10s to get to 60.

@@stevefox3763 Yes I think I looked up the wrong specs, the tdci is a bit higher on top speed In reality though I somehow know that my one can do 143mph. What torque has the v6 got because that’s what the tdci is known for which makes up for the lack in hp.

Sounds awesome mate.Mine sounds similar. Decat, remap, panel filter, n back boxes deleted. I've still got the centre box. I daren't get rid of that.🤣👍🏻. Great cars, i've had my 220 Estate for 10 years now. Never get bored of it.

Love the Duratec V6, bullet proof engine and ive owned V6 Mk3 mondeos since 2003, mine have all been including my current one, the 2.5 but oh boy do they sound good when you ring their necks! In the center of town between the high buildings, taking it to 6500rpm sounds insane and people always turn and have that look of confusion when they see its a mondeo making that noise ha ha.

Yeh that's it. The NA engine is so much more raw and pleasing to the hear compared to Turbo engines. That's what I love about my 2.0L Duratec. I am keeping it NA

@@DriveWithAndy I hate turbos but the Mk3 is getting on now and the both the 2.5 and 3.0 V6 flavours are almost £700 a year road tax if they were registered 2006 onwards so the older ones are the only viable ones, I'm going to have to accept that my next Mondeo will be the 2.5L straight 5 turbo titanium x sport, its got the same performance as the ST220 but is the same tax as the pre 2006 V6 example's, its the same engine as the 2006 focus st.

@@DriveWithAndy both the 2.5 and 3.0 V6 are in the same tax band, mine is a pre 2006 so is the 'cheap' tax, what's the cheap tax you might wonder, £390 a year lol, its more than my insurance! Like that Dont get enough from me in fuel duty, I'm doing 15mpg round town!

@@stevefox3763 same it's cheaper to inside with the mods than tax it. What a joke. The emissions tax is just a pure money making scheme. Much preferred the older way which was road tax, which as long I thought it meant for the use of the roads and their upkeep, may be wrong. Electric cars emit emissions just not in the same way. Energy doesn't appear from this air 😂

Not much power wise unless you have a deep wallet. Can go turbo but not of room in engine bay. You can go Remap and air filter route like iv done but gains aren't massive.

Yeh it's loud. Sounds amazing but as a daily may be too loud for some. We talked about power mods. It's the same engine as the Noble M12 so it be Turbo'd at a big cost plus think it's tricky with space for mods like adding big turbos

That engine has a song when its played right, this one has been given a whack with the angry stick and it sounds awful. only an opinion, glad someone is passionate about these cars though so keep that up, just dial down that whine

Yeh totally understand the loud Exhuast is not to the taste of everyone. I've not heard a standard one in person
