A tribute to John Thornett and the "Thornett Era" of Australian rugby (1962-1967), when the Wallabies "arrived" as a force in the global game. This is an extended version of the tribute video by Theo Clark Media produced for Thornett's memorial service at the SCG in January, 2019. He's the oldest of the 3 thornett brothers & his younger brothers Ken & Dick played for Parramatta eels in the early 60s.

The boom-bust nature of Rugby performance by Australians doesn't quite ring true. We produce athletes like the Swiss make clocks. It's almost like administrator's egos foul the nest after a spell of good outings trying to claim some of the credit, who can always point at the 'cattle' and not themselves. Wouldn't be the first time either. We're a weird mob.
