lol "excellent." This entire case was a shit show and made the Boynton Beach PD look terrible (I'm from this area). They set up an entire a fake crime scene for an episode of Cops, bring the "hit man" into the room instead of doing a line up, let her husband walk past the the interrogation room with the door open so they could argue, etc. It was extremely unprofessional and it seemed like they just wanted to put on a show for some views. It's not really talked about in this video but that's why she took the weird "victim of a fame hungry police dept." stance in her appeal. It actually wasn't weird and made complete sense from the defense's standpoint and could have thrown a shoe-in case.

It really wasn't though, it actually made a lot of sense. The entire thing was extremely unprofessional and looked like BBPD wanted some sort of publicity out of it. Firstly, JCS says news cameras but the fake crime scene was set up for an episode of cops. It was completely unnecessary, weird, and entirely for entertainment. They awkwardly brought the undercover cop posing as a hitman into the interrogation room instead of doing an actual line up. They left the door open and had her husband walk past seemingly to have them argue. It was handled terribly by the BBPD and could have thrown an easy case.
@GLUFSAREN
@GLUFSAREN 3 года назад
@@goldengoat9660 I'm pretty sure you don't do a lineup for this. That's only for witnesses who are pointing out criminals. Not for people who are accused of crimes to point out an undercover operative. She wasn't admitting to doing anything, why would she point out someone in a lineup. That doesnt make sense, He should have been in uniform instead. They did unnecessary theatrics that is not in doubt. But a lineup is equally stupid in this case. I still didn't really understand what technicality got the first sentence thrown out but yeah.. it should have been an open and shut case.
@aceofspades58
@aceofspades58 3 года назад
@@goldengoat9660 A lineup? Like she's gonna say, "Yes officer. That's the hitman I hired to kill my husband." She hadn't admitted to anything yet and her defence was that she was innocent to any crime. A lineup is pointless.
@xertion8567
@xertion8567 3 года назад
@@goldengoat9660 You sounded like you had an actual argument going on til you mentioned a lineup and then realized you just pulled all that out of your ass, a lineup was unnecessary because she obviously wasn't gonna admit to hiring him not to mention that she was at the gym at the time of the fake crime so either way a lineup would have been incredibly stupid and the whole point of bringing in the undercover cop and have him continue to act as a hit man was probably to give her a sense that everything had gone accordingly to her plan before ultimately breaking that narrative Anyone who believes that the whole thing was meant to be for some reality show or whatever is incredibly stupid as one of their arguments is that she and Mike collaborated for their "plot" yet what bugs me is the question of what does he get out of it if he paints her as the villain? He had put the house in her name so had he known he was gonna stab her in the back wouldn't have gained him anything and at no point in and out of the court house during her trial did it ever seem like he was looking for fame he was genuinely disappointed and wanted nothing to do with this girl who had very clearly in the past tried to get him arrested, this part is never discussed in the trial Dahlia's whole story doesn't make sense at all as there is too many plot holes and questions that haven't been answered and probably can't be answered because the whole story is bull, whereas in the police department's case makes a whole lot more sense, a woman wanted money and was willing to do anything to get it, the bitch was caught and arrested but unfortunately the punishment didn't at all fit the crime and she should have easily been given a life sentence

They put a subtitle for 'Thank you' @ 16:20 because it's bizarre how she acts. She was just informed that her husband was violently murdered, but once the detective leaves she just replies with a lighthearted thanks as if nothing serious is going on. You'd normally be a broken mess.

Imagine being in jail for years for fraud and stuff, then be freed and try to do right, never see your dad again, then marry a decent wife, get a bit lusty with another woman and then being completely manipulated out of your marriage to then get married with this new one, get set up in various intances by her to be taken by the police, and after a few failed attemps she just decides to straight up try and kill you. By the time Dalia's mother was on the stand talking about her daughter and then the camera focused on Mike's face, he just looked so dead inside and so done with the situation. No wonder why he talked to her in the phone like that and in the stand. Jeez poor man. Also goddamn this whole case was a fucken shit-fest.

One of the things that didn’t sit right with me was when Dalia was told that her husband was “dead”. She was calm for the most part until the reveal, and she went into hysterical weeping. I was have first responded with shock, process, then slowly start break down crying.

Dalia getting caught red-handed, the ex-boyfriend warning the police about her plans... and even Michael got a little karma for cheating on his wife with Dalia. (He wouldn't have deserved getting murdered, obviously, that would have been a different story.)

I am curious as to what you mean. I get the profession is not for everyone. But our criminal justice is based on the people being represented by a prosecutor. Every accused also gets legal council also. We are all innocent until proven guilty. Having said that, I often wonder what I would do if asked to defend someone who I knew in my heart was guilty. I think the first thing I would do is tell my client that I felt he will be found guilty so perhaps we can seek a plea or something. Ok obviously I am not lawyer so I could be way off. I am just looking at the ethics of the situation. On the one hand everyone is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Furthermore all are guaranteed legal council. But when the legal council basically knows the accused is guilty what does he/she do. I am sure entire classes cover this in law school. But this is not just about defense attorneys. Prosecutors can be just as bad sometimes. It is all about winning period. It is a game between lawyers. The funny thing about this is that often those opposing lawyers in the courtroom are actually good friends. They may be arguing and wanting to win in this"game" to them. But later they will be on the golf course together. And the biggest factor in determining guilt or innocent in court is usually how good ones attorney is vs how good the prosecutor is. If one has a court appointed attorney he/she very well may be screwed. But if you are OJ Simpson and can afford the best legal council in the world you may be able to get away with ...........
