@@Psyduck_867 ?? Mental illness defers at different degrees from person to person. Just because for you this seems "funny" was actually someone's cry for help. So just shut the hell up. Because you didn't live this guy's life to go through that level of insanity and murder. One can just imagine how worst his condition had gone. Maybe he wanted attention, from the start, and wanting attention is okay. Especially if you dont get any, it becomes desperation and then obsession. I once taped a note for my parents hanging over their bedroom door (so it drooped down when they opened the door) and they missed it. With hindsight it’s obvious he was crying for help because it’s much easier to spot something when you’re looking for it, but at the time it’s just like Rae said he seems like a normal person. This is why our society needs to be made more aware of the signs of depression and be more capable of helping those who need it. This event happened in my area and our town is still affected by it to this day. I knew the girl that unfortunately passed from the incident because her family were my neighbors, not even a 5 minute drive from my house. They were a lovely family and she always had my back whenever I used to get bullied on the school bus. I would also like to mention that it is not uncommon for the employees of our Weis Supermarket to be disgruntled about working there due to poor management there to this day still. I sometimes feel like our town as a whole failed him due to the rural setting as well as old-fashioned mindsets are still being common-place here. Because of it, mental health can sometimes be a taboo subject and we don't have the necessary resources that we should have compared to more urban and populated areas. My heart still goes out to all of the victims families to this day and I hope they all found peace.

His statement were he says “the warning stars were all there why did no one notice” is chilling since it’s true. What I personally think is that he didn’t crave attention what it seems like is that he wanted someone to care for him. He was to far gone by the time it was preventable but in a way I can understand what lead to his mentally (Not the murders) but the mentality of how he started idealising these imaginary characters when he was so alone. I think at a point he just cracked, he just couldn’t handle it anymore and created this personality that wanted to kill, with all the warning signs it’s clear that he didn’t want to go through with it yet he did. It makes me wonder what exactly he wanted to gain when “becoming a ghost girl” what was the difference between that and living for him? And if that was in his live while he was living would he have still went through with such a horrific thing.

My ex had schizophrenia for years without anyone knowing, he was really good at hiding his symptoms but that was a lot because his conscious would tell him that the thoughts he was having or the feelings he was having weren't actually real but it was getting worse and worse every year, he is a very intelligent man and he never seemed like ye had any mental illness (until about 2 years into our relationship when he started opening up to me and telling me what he was going through) He's gone to psychiatrist and therapist now, and he's on medication that stops these thoughts, he's generally way happier than he used to be. Mental illness is a scary thing and it effects people differently, a lot of people who have mental illness only show subtle signs of it as they learn to "mask" their symptoms, especially women, but if you're feeling like you're dealing with things that aren't necessarily seen as "normal", you should seek help, so many people put therapy and psychiatrist down, but they truly can help you, don't listen to other negativity without at least giving it a try yourself first.

If you got to know the mass shooters that killed 10 or 20× more people than Randy, you'll see they were also struggling in many ways. A lot of people struggle, but not everyone goes off killing innocent people. Sure it's sad they didn't get the help they needed, but at the end of the day, he did something that's just unforgivable and has no sympathy for it.

I feel this case is very unique in how it leaves your concluding thoughts torn apart. there is the popular existential question that essentially wonders whether evil is born or created, and it something we often wonder about certain cases where pure evil is presented. but I think to a rarely high degree of conviction you can say the evil that came out of Randy was created, or more like growing within his mind over years and years of emotional neglect. stating the obvious, we can all agree what he did was unforgivably wrong. but, I think that what's interesting about this case is how human it is, even though inhuman at the same time. like... I think unlike most killers and mass murderers, his experiences that led to something so horrific were so... normal? familiar. was there a single person who wasn't very aware of how Randy was feeling with everything that happened around him? In my mind, I know exactly how he felt, the feeling of loneliness throughout this video was almost more real than times I felt lonely in MY life. its not a case of a crazy killer who can never be understood by the average Joe, I think we actually ALL been through similar times, only probably to a much smaller extent. Randy felt invisible. at some point, hearing the things he did while *still* going completely unnoticed, the first word that came to mind is that he must have felt like a ghost. no wonder his characters... he never had a single person he interacted with that connected him mentally to real life, so its small wonder he spiraled so rapidly into fantasy. its like he didn't have a single thread of conscious self that hung onto society and humanity, so of course he felt completely detached from it. again, not in any way shape or form excusing his actions, I just find it interesting to analyze his demise. at some point he was talking about his plan again, essentially be remembered and known through the taking of innocent human life. to which Rae pointed in shock to how self-centered he is, and how *remorseless.* which it is, but it made me wonder what's the sense in that. being so incapable of realizing the importance of other human life, and using it for something as trivial (in comparison) as the memory of you. to me, I think rather than what created that, the question must be "what was not created", which is empathy, and the ability to equate others' lives to his own. which seems to make sense, when considering what I've said before, which is that he never had a single human interaction that consisted of true connection. he never had a friend, or an honest mutual relationship of sympathy and love, so its almost as if he never had the means to grow to understand others as himself. we'd love to think we are humans and therefore are elevated, pure creatures. but we aren't. we are selfish, cowardly and stupid. if we focus on the selfish part, we basically learn the virtue of selflessness in our relationship with others. its how we learn empathy. when we have a loved one who suffers, we began to understand the magnitude of pain, and the effects it has on others, other than ourselves. if he never had a single thread of humanity to connect to, to the point where he felt like a ghost in a world of humans, how would he ever find the importance of others, or learn to feel connection to strangers through a shared mentality? its almost like there's a barrier in his view of others compared to himself, rather than fluidity and solitude. narcissism is not much a surprise when the only person you truly know is yourself

was this s re-upload? I swear I’ve seen Rae reaction to this video like a few days ago or so. but, Randy Stair’s case genuinely messed me up for while when I first watched the video Rae is reacting to. like Rae said, he genuinely seemed like a normal everyday person, even someone I could see myself talking to. that’s what I think is/was so disturbing for me. watching his older ‘practicing shooting guns’ videos, I would find them funny, if not having known what he’s done/his background. like first said, this case genuinely messed me up for a bit, or at least on my perception of others. re-watching this video/case again, just makes my heart feel heavy, if that makes sense. The way he smiled when he knew he was going to kill more people than just himself. having watched many re-uploaded videos of Randy’s, i can’t say it enough, they’re just so disturbing knowing what’s he’s done and was planning for so long. disturbing and just cold, is just two of so many possible words to describe this case. its still mind boggling to think that there are people in this world with similar mindsets to Randy’s. maybe not as cold, but selfish and narcissistic enough to go to the lengths to kill other harmless human beings whom done nothing of harm, for what you want in life, that aren’t always permanent. sorry if this is pretty long, just thought I’d share my thoughts.

I don’t think that’s what she meant by that. Vae was just saying how Randy shielded all their true emotions and mental stabilities away and that they carried on as if they didn’t have any problems at all. It’s called a facade. In the beginning, it did state that they were a bit popular among other youtubers because of their “seemingly” normal videos, and personality at the time. No one would’ve suspected that. Ofc ppl with mental health are still normal ppl. But what she was saying is how they put on a mask that easily fooled others into thinking there was nothing wrong with them, well, until they finally snapped. It’s kind of like how ppl were saying with Ted Bundy for example. He would make himself seem “normal” as possible and fooled a lot of ppl until he showed his true colors.
