It never made sense to me that Lexi never got a daylight amulet. That witch liked her enough to try to avenge her death but wouldn't make her a daylight ring?

Being a ripper just means your lust for blood is far superior than other vampires added also by a huge lack of control. Doesn’t mean you don’t have remorse. Stefan was very remorseful, He used to put the heads of his victims back on as an attempt to “fix the issue” cause he felt terrible. He didn’t have remorse when he turned off his humanity.

I’ve always thought that a ripper was not a separate vampire but one who has completely lost self-control and consumed by bloodlust, as if they were high on addiction to blood. Klaus needed doppelgänger‘s blood because Esther set a backup plan as an emergency from when he broke his hybrid curse, to needing doppelgänger’s blood so he couldn’t sire others. Not cause it was part of him and that’s the 1 thing he never got rid of. If he did, then he’d b like Hope of needing to feed others his own blood again.

I know it’s obvious but my favourite is klause as his dark sense of humour gets me 😂 when he starts throwing wood into the house he can’t get into and Damon throws some back 😂 also I love the fact he is a hybrid and fully in control when turned too!

You forgot the Strongest of them all ... The Tribrid Hope Mickelson, she's immune to the Werewolf Bite, can not be compelled even by the Originals, can switch her humanity on and off so she can become even more Powerfull as a Ripper, she has Magic that almost no one can match except for the Twins.. her blood is the Only one that can stop Malivore, the Eater of Dark, a being so powerful and dangerous that it was sealed outside of Reality, a Hell DImension.

Damen wasn't a standard Vampire, he was Abel to Sire vampires who was turned using his blood. He could also control mist in the first season and controlled a crow to do what he wanted. Damen and Katherine were both abel to put dreams into Vampires and Humans while they sleep

It is interesting that some vampires could maintain control and some couldn't.

it thought it was quite fitting for marcel to be the selected candidate to be the strongest as its symbolic with his relationship with klaus the former strongest as he was his father figure, so him ascending & surpassing his power was quite cool in that regard.

10:18 My TVDU knowledge might be rusty but I'm pretty sure Klaus' werewolf bite CANNOT kill an original. Cause he bit Elijah and Rebecca a few times in The Originals and all it did was make them delirious but wasnt exactly fatal. They could recover on their own

I think everyone can agree that Elijah is the best original by far. The actor played his role so well I would honestly think that's how he is in real life. Klaus is in a class of his own since he is a hybrid

Freya was a bad ass that worked so hard to help her family. I loved her

hear me out the standard ones mentioned all had a connection to emotion. Kath selfishness, desire, love. lexi is friendship loyalty understanding and caroline is Bravery, joy empathy. Maybe theyre better at compulsion because they understand minds and emotions.

My favorite type of vampire is the vampire werewolf hybrid like Klaus , Klaus was so damn OP not only was he 1000 years old but he had the powers of both Vampire and Werewolf almost no one in the The Vampire Diaries universe was a threat to him or could even hope to even fight him all you could do was run from him or somehow bargain for your life like Jesus , one of the best rare examples of someone being able to almost kill Klaus one on one was Enchanced Original Vampire Alaric Saltzman

When klous was separated from his vampires it was the end of the show or heading that way. They kept making klous weaker and weaker the originals weaker and weaker. Judy plec ruins every vampire show, yet the studios go to her for every single vampire show and she messed it up always

I dont want this to be taken the wrong way so ill say up front that I absolutely enjoyed The Originals show, and I absolutely loved the Originals as characters (besides maybe Finn, Freya wasnt bad but kinda boring). But as much as I enjoyed the spinoff, the original first few seasons of TVD are pure nostalgic bliss for me. The first season aired on CW during my freshman year of highschool, so the first 4 seasons lined up with my entire highschool experience. That first season though hit me at EXACTLY the perfect time for me to enjoy it. Going back and watching it now, 14-15 years later, it definitely has some glaring flaws and I get pretty annoyed at alot of the teen-drama shenanigans, but there is still that small part of me that gets pulled back to that time whenever I watch it (kind of the same for supernatural and a few other things) and its just plain magical. I like to go back and watch seasons 1-5 usually when I binge it, and I have to say its pretty cool seeing a more analytical approach on the different vampire types

Man as much as I'm going to get hate for this, it really does highlight the CW shows' problem with constantly having to up the odds to find a new impossible thing to be a threat, leading to once normal hero characters becoming massively overpowered in their own universe and a lot of consistency lost. Some of these shows were good in a popcorn TV sort of way still-- I mean Supernatural could be the definitive of them-- but jeez lol. It's basically why everyone but Matt Donovan wound up something spooky by the end.

What about Hope Mikaelson. He mentions her very briefly but didn't talk about how she is her own type of vampire. Hope is both a witch and werewolf hybrid, she has the same vampire abilities as an original vampire (i.e. stronger then normal vampires [because of her werewolf side], and able to compel other vampires). She is the daughter of Klaus Mikaelson, the original hybrid, and Hayley Marshall, Crescent wolf alpha. She is a descendant of the original witch. She is not effected by the white oak daggers, she is the cure to a werewolf bite, and she can create hybrids with the use of her blood for both the beginning and to complete the transition. The only known weapon against Hope is wood from a Red Oak tree that was created by Hope, Lizzie, and Josie right before Hope transitioned into a vampire herself.

i would also add a doubleganger vampire in there as well. edit 1.,katherine, elena, stephan were all vampires and doublegangers so might as well and their blood had whatever magical properties even though they were still vampires. edit 2. i suppose they could also be hybrids

I'm always gonna have my personal fanfic about a heretic and a hybrid falling in love at the Salvatore school. I fan cast Kit Conner as the hybrid and Joe Locke as the heretic, you know because of Heartstopper. But I'm sorry in my fanfic there's no fairies or unicorns or dragons. We're keeping is basic with humans, ghosts, vampires, werewolves, and witches.

Dude not including the Tribred Hope was a serious oversight. Once she was a fully unlocked Tribred she was damn near unstoppable.

You missed Hope and let me point out that marcel bit cant kill Klaus because his an original hybrid remember when fin was dying from the bit and Klaus gave him his blood it worked for some minutes but the bit took over thats bc at that point for him to have stayed alive he needed to be drinking from Klaus which he said no and died

In terms of power scaling I always thought of it like this the originals (except Klaus) are like an xbox one. Alaric (enhanced original) is like an Xbox series S and Marcel (upgraded original)is like Xbox series X.

I just wanted to say that being a werewolf-vampire hybrid did NOT prevent the need of a daylight ring. Hope's mother literally died by sunlight when she sacrificed herself by ripping daylight ringed finger off.

Klaus couldn't kill another original with his bite. They would still heal, just like with any other wolf bite. The only thing Klaus could do that no other creature could for the first part of both series was cure werewolf bites. Eventually, though, Hope is born with the ability to heal a wolf bite, and then Lucian came along with a cure he had created in a lab. After that, the only incurable bite came from the enhanced an enhanced Original, which could kill even an Original, until Freya developed a cure for that as well. She was only able to create a very small amount of that, though, due to the rarity of some of the wolves required to make it, meaning Marcels bite would eventually become incurable, and 100% fatal again. The enhanced venom also killed much more quickly than a regular wolf bite as well.

What about hope? She’s a different type as well being the only tri-bird.

wrong the originals cannot die from Klaus's blood. Elijah was beaten by Klaus when Hayley was pregnant with hope and he survived without using Klaus blood. so did Finn twice. only marcel's bit can kill an original and you forgot the tribrid
