but it would make sense, the guy was paranoid as hell, barricades blocked you from a direct entry, and you literally have to go through a sewer to reach his mansion. "he was already dead" would be an ideal option.
I like how the developers put so much of philosophy and morality in this game, if you ask Dawson “who gave you the authority to decide the fate of so many people?” regarding the construction of the wall he will answer: “money.” But if you decide to embrace him he will ask you the exact same thing, as a hypocrite: “who gave you the authority?” Both protagonists... In that moment both Jonathan and Dawson... Are hypocrites...
I chose to make him a vampire because i roleplayed that Dr Reid was curious as a scientist about the process, and wanted a live specimen to study. I figured he could kill dawsosn later easily enough if he had to, or assert some sort of control over him as his maker, and having the resources of Ascalon at his disposal would be worth making an immortal of the douchebag.
+Daemon Shark Different kind of wall and the people in the game are citizens, in real life they are not. Millions over time have come in illegally without the US having any idea of their backgrounds. In no situation in modern times is that a wise thing, no matter what leftists tell you. There is drug trafficking and gangs like MS 13 who actually torture people. Yes, most Latinos are decent people but no extremely large groups of people should just be let into a a country without proper oversight and at a measured pace. No country except the US is expected to live by these ridiculous "open borders or you are a racist" attitude and they don't. Not even Mexico does. It seems little more than an attempt to create an artificial voter class that will be utterly dependent of the democrats. Everyone likes the the Statue of Liberty and the message she bears but those things should be done with wisdom, not at the threat of "Do this or your an evil bigot" which is nothing but a tool to stifle debate.
+Whytepathe actually there are other other countries that let people in without any form of policing to an even more liberal extent than us ...Sweden comes to mind. I hear their crim e rate is insanely high now to where fire bombings and open armed attacks on police stations are so high and common, they arent even worth reporting on the news anymore...Yeaaaah, lets just have open borders and turn our country into Sweden, or Cartel controlled Mexico >_> Liberals are the blind sheep of the world, hyopcritically calling everyone else blind
Since it wasn’t explained: CHARM HIM - To use this option, you must first discover the hints about the man. This choice can be seen as good - the man will give up his fear of death. The next night, you'll find out that Aloysius has died - but he will leave some of his assets and accessories to medical patients. This will heal all sick inhabitants of the districts (they may become ill the next night). In addition, you will be excluded from the Ascalon club - in the city you will be able to meet some members and you will have a chance for an optional fight with Ekons. TURN HIM INTO A VAMPIRE - for 2,000 XP, you can transform him into a vampire. It is a morally doubtful choice, because Aloysius is a bitter man who wants to separate the rich from the poor. Aloysius will survive and the health of the district will not deteriorate. Lord Redgrave will be exalted and you will remain a member of Ascalon. SUCK BLOOD - You'll kill the man right away. Jonathan sucks blood which kills Aloysius immediately. It will infuriate Lord Redgrave, who expels you from the Ascalon club.
Thanks for listing those choices, first playthrough I just let him die. Ended up getting kicked from Ascalon, also members of it tried to attack me at some places in the city.
is nobody going to point out that when he embraced him, he just cut to the charm segment of the video instead of showing us lord redgrave's response to our killing him?
Michael Johnson well if you do let him live you are on route for 2 of the worst endings in the game so killing him or unlocking the clue to get him to die of natural causes is your best bet also when you let him die he gives all of his money to the people who need it and the pembroke hospital so everyone gets better from what I’ve learned
@@aldin2091 there are 4 endings he was talking about the bad ending and the worst ending which the difference between the bad and worst is how many people you kill and how many districts fall into chaos
@@aldin2091 In both bad endings Ashbury commits suicide. In both good endings she doesn't. This depends on how many people you kill and some story choices. 1. If you kill nobody, give your blood to Sean Hampton and charm aloysius with the hints from Carolyn Price and Usher Talltree, you'll get the good ending where Ashbury and Reid stay in Ashburys Castle and Old Bridget takes care of them. 2. The other good ending happens also when you don't kill anyone, spare Sean Hampton but don't give him blood and charm aloysius. Not giving Sean your blood causes him to go berserk and he kills the sewer skals including old Bridget. You stay trustworthy to Ashbury but Reid can't rely on old Bridget at the end so he and Ashbury travel the country looking for a cure instead of staying at the castle. 3. The first bad ending you get by default if you turn aloysius and/or kill someone but not all citizens. Turning aloysius puts you on the wrong side of Ashbury so she commits suicide because you can't convince her not to and Reid seems to have regrets about his actions but myrdin comments on how he is a slave to his thirst. Reid can be seen sitting in a chair with a glass of blood. 4. The worst ending is the one you get for killing all citizens and turning all districts to hostile status. Ashbury commits suicide, Reid will go on a killing spree and you'll see him feeding on people while myrdin comments on how London has fallen but Reid doesn't care etc etc. Honestly I prefer both bad endings over the good endings. Worst ending in my personal opinion is the first one I mentioned. I don't like lady Ashbury so essentially locking Reid in a big stone box with her because he likes her is really unrewarding to me. I like redemption arcs and evil vampires though so after Ashburys annoyance is gone both bad endings hit the right spot for me. Edit: Important note. In the fight against Mary, killing the priest is counted as a murder and denies you both good endings. If you want one of the good endings, don't kill the priest, let Mary do that. That murder is never explained and a lot of people have screwed over their pacifist runs thinking the priest doesn't count, he does.
@Syd Yes if you spare Sean but don't give him blood he will go berserk and kill old Bridget which caused Jonathan and Ashbury to travel around for a cure. The other option is to give Sean blood which prevents him going berserk but with old Bridget alive Jonathan will stay put. You mean turning Dawson into a vampire or charming him? When I turned Dawson I got a bad ending because Ashbury was pissed. Charming him is fine.
As long as you give away your own stuff, more power to you. It’s only when the notion of personal charity becomes a mandatory contribution that things derail.
Story is good in my opinion but the world loading sucks ass. Can't run halfway across a district before it has to freeze and load for several seconds, sometimes don't even need to run at all. Also there's a certain strange issue with mirrors which is quite creepy. Mirror Jonathan stands facing the same direction as real Jonathan. Meaning if he looks away from a mirror, his reflection watches him. If he looks into a mirror, he sees the back of him. The mirrors in this game look like they've been covered in slime and it can be hard to tell but it's there, easiest way to see the reflection is in a window without the grime. I didn't notice in my first run but now I know it's there I notice it constantly and it's really irritating. Thought it might be a weird vampire thing as popular folklore says vampires don't have reflections but it happens with human npcs too.
@@GothicGamer2012 Yesterday i just had to reset the game 3 times in a row because the game just froze thrice when i was fighting enemies in a specific spot (the mall near the garden) so I just gave up on the place and kept playing
@@lobiseja3517 It's unlikely I'll get a ps5. Not for a long time at least. Don't need it atm and don't want to take risks with with the people using the hype to scam and/or sell for higher prices. Whole thing is a mess I refuse to deal with. My ps4 isn't the issue though as other games are fine with worldloading.
I killed this guy on my first run I am doing m second run I felt bad after I killed him, he was bad person but then after his final words came out they hit me like a dump truck this game makes you think about you actions and they will stick with you it’s insane.
Seems like a lot of us were waiting to have this game free on PS Plus 🤟🏼 great game though I wanted to Play this game since it was released it was not expecting to have it free on PS plus and the thing I most love of this game is the british accent 🔥
Not really. You could ask him the same exact thing, which Jonathan does. Dawson has some authority over who lives and dies because of his money. He treats people like pawns and cattle.
I’m trying to do the achievement to finish the game without killing any citizen if I charm him then he die will I lose the achievement ? Plz response ASAP thx
Well, what are the good and Bad endings? Killing him is obviously the worst. But turning him, although Lord Redgrave will be pleased(and only pleased), it will result in a everybody diseased after your next sleep which costs you a lot of medicine. Haven't tried charm so do not know what will happen to the world,
@@HeiwaJiyu I know I'm late to the party but if you charm him, everyone in all districts is cured as he donates his money to charity and hospitals. This in my opinion is the best option but you will be kicked out of the ascalon club. You'll need the hints about him one from Usher Talltree and the other from Carolyn Price, without these you won't be able to charm him. If you turn him, lots of people in all districts get sick and Lady Ashbury is displeased with you at the end of the game. Charlotte Ashbury also complains about your decision. I believe turning him denies you the best ending even if you've killed no citizens but I'm not positive. Not sure what happens if you kill him as I haven't done that yet. I was actually looking for this very thing as on my current playthrough I want to kill all citizens and pillars. I'll update this comment if I decide to go through with it. Edit: Autocorrect Edit 2: Killed Aloysius Dawson, almost everyone in the West end got sick and 3 in Whitechapel but the docks and Pembroke were uneffected. I'm not sure if the outbreaks in the West end were random and coincidental or if killing Aloysius causes it to happen. Only 3 people got sick in Whitechapel so that was most likely random. Charlotte Ashbury seems pleased with his death and views your actions as merciful, she knows you killed him. You're also kicked out of the ascalon club.
After going over the choices, I feel the best option is to make him a vampire. But my only question is how does Elizabeth react if you do? She was the one who said I should let him die. So if I turn him, does she get upset with me? Does she accept my choice? Does she even care at all?
@@slinkerys No, she runs away because she learns she's a healthy carrier for the blood of hate. She just complains and is disappointed by you turning Dawson.
I wanted to charm him so he dies the next day but it seems I missed something and couldn't unlock this feature. Well shucks he will be the first one to drink
Gotta get 2 hints. One from usher talltree and the other from carolyn price. Both found in the west end. Without both of these you won't be able to charm him. It's a good idea to get into the habit of checking what hints you have for the pillars before entering those choice scenes with them.
@@GothicGamer2012 thank god I talk to them before enter aloysius mansion. I just want to finish all investigations, but end up to get good ending with aloysius
There’s key people you need to talk to (I can’t remember who exactly) but they’ll talk about the wall he wants to build, Aloysius’ past, and the fact that his brother died.
One is speak with carolyn price in the "price shop" near where you first enter the area. Second is go speak with Usher (The mysterious card guy). For both of these you need to ask the yellow question with the exclamation mark
‘ Jiren’ The best for the district will always be to keep the pillar alive but that isn't always the best case in general. For myself, it was better to let him die on his own as he was able to do 1 very good thing for London before he died.
i think its based on the choices you make. if u decide to go for a killing spree and kill many citizens, your eyes become red as a sign of your bad intentions. if you spare them they dont
You get red eyes when you start kills NPCs. I got them fast cuz I kill 2 NPC on start. When you go for a killing spree and kill many of them your eyes become black with the red center.
I've only killed one NPC (an evil one at that) and the whites of Johnathan's eyes have already turned red. It really sucks because there's no way he'd pass as human now (at least, not to anyone he gets close enough to speak to), yet magically, everyone seems to not notice them.
My guess is charming him to die peacefully. What he proposes seems pretty terrible and the responses your character gives them struck me as trying to put the best light on a harsh or cruel decision. Heck, they guy doesn't even say he will respect you if you turn him into a vamp which is what he wants-who is to say he won't do horrible things to others if he gets the powers of being a vamp (seems like he will).
*slow claps* Much subtly, such commentary Woooo Devs U R so funny and clever.. Despite the stab at trump you're making this totally reasonable thing that has save 1000s od lives in Real life seem like it's evil when it's not all for some political joke.. Building a wall in this case where there are Monsters eating people is understandable since most of the skals are around the poor part of the city. Plus this is 1918 where medical tech and practices are in no way suitable to tackle an outbreak like this and the virus would spread faster then wild fire..
Yeah. After turning him into a vampire every NPC in the game district gets sick... I have no idea why. He seems to be a mix of (a French Champagne Socialist caricature of) Donald Trump and Aleister Crowley. Another hint about the character states that he was a member of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn. It was a real secret society occult enthusiasm club in England in the late 1800s. Crowley was a member of it. (I’m guessing that Ekons/Vampires are analogues to occult enthusiasts.)
