Luffy was the highest STARTING in the East Blue. Ever. Auger could have been 5M, then jump to 50M or something to his bounty at Jaya.

Honestly, Usopp’s slingshot and pop greens could give him an advantage over conventional snipers. The pop greens are significantly more versatile than traditional bullets.

Yasopp and Auger pointed rifles at each other at Marineford.

I think the final fight between Usopp vs Van Auger might play with that fact that Usopp never uses guns. It starts with then trying to snipe each other from a distance, slowly getting closer, and when they are face to face, they'll run out of ammo. Then Van Auger might place his rifle down, take out two flintlocks, give one to Usopp, and turn around, challenging him for a more Victorian Era kind of duel. Usopp turns his back, they raise their guns, take 30 steps, and try to see who shoots first, which might end with Usopp shooting Van Auger's gun away.

Usopp vs. Van Augur will be so lit, literally sniping each other in different islands. The Blackbeard Pirates vs. the Strawhat Pirates battle will be so hype I can’t wait so gets paired to fight who. Personally I want: Luffy vs. Blackbeard Zoro vs. Shiryu Nami vs. Lafitte Usopp vs. Van Augur Sanji vs. Avalo Pizarro Chopper vs. Doc Q Robin vs. Catarina Devon Franky vs. Sanjuan Wolf Brook vs. Vasco Shot Jimbei vs. Jesus Burgess Carrot (if she joins) vs. the unknown tenth pirate of the Blackbeard Pirates (11th if we include Blackbeard himself). The most I’m excited for is Usopp vs. Van Augur, and I can literally imagine Van Augur trying to assassinate Luffy during his fight with Blackbeard, but Usopp snipes his bullets out of the way.

The Blackbeard pirates are absolutely insane. I freaking love them. Especially if you look at the potential conflicts that could arise between Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, Usopp and their respective opponents. Here is my dream head cannon.... Sanji (the Germa prince from the North Blue) vs Avalo Pizarro (the corrupt king from the North Blue) Usopp vs Van Augur (Usopp avenging his fathers death) Roronoa Zoro (A nobody who inherited the TRUE will of the Shimotsuki) vs Shimotsuki Shiryu (The actual descendant of Ryuma, turned evil) Luffy vs Blackbeard (For sooo many reasons)

I love How in one piece everyone says the east blue is the weakest. But like half of the most powerful characters were born in the east. You got the whole Monkey family, all the best snipers, The Pirate king, and I am sure others. (End of series strawhats).

In the Anime Usopp told Daddy Masterson's daughter that his bounty was 30.000.000 Berry, which incidently would also become his first bounty.

I hope Burgess has a surprisingly interesting backstory. Like he’s the “fighting champ” because he had to fight to the death to survive on his island or something like that. Not unlike Zabuza from Naruto

what I can imagen this fight would go down this way: first encounter: Van Augur shoots first at Luffy from their ship. As the bullet flies towards Luffy Ussop sense it and fires back while moving Luffy out of the way. He tells the guys to be careful because there's a very skilled sniper around. Meanwhile on Van Augur ship everybody laughing how bad of a sniper the strawhats have since he couldn't even hit the capitain But Van Augur tells them to stay quiet and tells his righthandman to be super careful when they are aboard the island. And there will be a shot of Van Augur from behind with a hole on his cape and a tear on his clothing. later: As they aboard the Island they get shot down one by one. everybody confused and the righthandman tells VA that they are getting shot at from a huge distance and with a spped unusuall of a sniper rifle. VA Locates the source and fire. Ussop face get scrached and makes him paniced. While running constantly gets shot at but dodoging them and fires back. VA is in a tight situation since he has limited space to move around and he nearly gets hit multple times. Than the shots are stop. and VA can't sense the Sniper presenece. During the War(at the end): Black beard Fleet arrives. Van Augur Gets the order from Balckbeard to not kill Luffy but anyone else. He shoots at them but the bullets been deflected. Both him and Ussop tells the crew not to interfere just focus on their objective. Van Augur get shot at and he starts running towards a cover but thanks to Ussop trick shots and the pop greens he forced to leave but staying in the same distance. While Luffy fighting Ussop start focusing on to the approaching Blackbeard crew shhoting them with pop greens so they get slowed down. But VA manage to find a good spot for sniping and start looking for Ussop while helping his crew to progress foward by killing all the pop green plants than he start shooting at Ussop position and forcing him to relocate but gets shot at from than on it's about running from point to point and shooting back and forth. Both get shot multiple times but manage to dodge anything serious. While VA has distance he's having difficult time dealing with the trick shots that alnd close to him making him fight off the Pop Green plants on close distance. and from then on it will be about who can trap the other. At the end Ussop walks up to Van Augur and he tells Ussop that he truly has the skills that fit to the sniper of the Pirate King. VA wlaks away bloodied and becomes a freelancer and sort of a rival to the Ussop pirates.

But the real question is, can Van Auger beat Sogeking? 🤔 I think not

I wanna see a scene where Red hair pirates and Straw hat pirates are on the sea like 100 miles away from each other and Yassop sees his Ussop and fires his gun at him, then Ussop senses the bullet shop and fires back stoping the bullet, Nami is like "Ussop what's wrong?" and Ussop is like "Someone fired at us" and then you see Yassop just smiling with his gun producing smoke from the barrel

Wouldnt it be funny if van Auger actually is or was sniper king(sogeking) from some sniper island and thats why he will have a grudge against ussop.

The fight between Usoppe and Van Auger is going to be like Luffy vs Katakuri. Another thing I want to say is kind of off topic: I think SWORD is divided into multiple organisations. One organisation monitors the four emperors and their activities while the others carry out different missions. Aokiji and Drake are the part of the SWORD organisation that monitors the four emperors and their activies, Coby is Drake's assistant while Aokiji's assistant must be someone else from the World Government. No matter what organisation you are part of, you are supporting SWORD and their main objective. Their main objective is to make sure that the World Government reigns supreme but most importantly, their aim is to improve the World Government and make the world a better place for everyone.

Oda's point behind usopp using a slingshot is that even with a kids toy he's just as good as someone like Yasopp who use a firearm.

I don’t see an immediate conclusion to Ussop and Auger. I see them both trying to take out each other’s allies first to shift the tide of the battle in their favor. Imagine if one of them or both have sea prism ammo or projectiles.

I don't think Usopp could just buy a normal rifle somewhere and be as effective as he is now, because on Enie's lobby the marine soldiers said that their rifles can't reach him, but he was able to shoot them (the scene when he saved Robin)

We've seen Usopp with a pistol in one of the old endings and it fits his look so well. I don't know why he doesn't have one yet.

When it comes to connections between characters, I'm betting on brook and kuzan. Lots of similarities in design and character. And they've never met outside of the movie. And brook was introduced in the ark following the one Kuzan showed up in for the first time.

I like the idea of Auger being inspired by Yassop and Usopp shooting down Augers bullets while approaching Blackbeard. But Im not sold on the honor competition thing tbh. Kinda picturing Usopp still gonna fight Auger, but it becomes more like a suspense deadly game of hide and seek. Where both are moving around an area trying to make that killshot on the other.

Love the topic and you’re theory on it. My take based off Van Auger’s “omen reading” and leaving it to fate. Resembles the ever mysterious, tarot card/omen reading, “immortal” scarecrow Basil Hawkins.
