Weight! Weight?! I like what you are doing but you can cut some of the weight buy using thinner wood for the draws. That should be a consideration when you do your builds. Right?
Hey hey! sweet tutorial as always dude! haha, planning my cabinets now. Is there a particular reason to use 3/4" plywood for the drawer boxes? Already have a lot of 1/2" plywood lying around so was planning to use that. Also I have no way to make the notch on the front face of the box, since I only have a circular saw. I was thinking maybe adding some square rods on the inside corners to make it sturdy (Or maybe triangular would look nicer) Also im a little scared to drill holes on my floor, i'm stil emotionally attached from the installation hahah and I noticed that when I drove a screw into a piece of flooring it kina makes a bulge right at the point where the screw comes out. Did you pre-drill holes on your flooring? That was too many questions, sorry about that.

How much room behind the driver's seat do you leave to the cabinets. Sems like there could be some interference with seat, especially if the seat has a swivel. Then there may be an issue with the knees hitting the kitchen cabinet too. What is your recommendation? Kenny
Hey! Great question! From the base of the seats I have the cabinets 14” behind. And the counter top hangs over roughly 8”. This leaves plenty of room for your legs but provides a great counter to eat/ work off of
@@AnkeneyVanBuilds that’s one of the slickest tricks I’ve seen any of the builders incorporate into the design yet is when you install a swivel drivers seat and set every tip so you can use it to eat from, an office area to work on the laptop, etc. Such a great idea Colton!! That’s a great question. Both options are very sturdy. I found doing this type of joinery ( when done right lol) keeps the boxes more square. The pocket holes can sometimes shift the wood when they’re not clamped down hard enough and sometimes the sides won’t be perfectly flush. Either way you choose to do it is correct. I just prefer the dove tail!

I just used the table saw! I set the blade to be a 1/4 inch high and set the table saw fence 1/4 inch from the blade and ran the 3/4inch plywood against it to make the groove!
@@AnkeneyVanBuilds Another option for this situation is to use 1/2 plywood for the centre panel and cut a 1/4 rabbet on the back around the perimeter. Then you can make your grooves in the middle like the rest of the doors, which keeps the same look on the front but gives you a flush back.
@@nickhartman3 they do. They have a spring in the drawer slide that helps keep them shut. But if you add a lot of weight in them the springs aren’t always strong enough. I ended up adding some RV latches

I’ve never been much on black before but I absolutely love the colors he’s used and how it looks so I think I’m gonna go with it in my bus. I just bought a 1982 MCI 40’ bud that I’m updating and remodeling to give everything a fresh & new look. I couldn’t deal with the 40 year old golden oak that they used to use in everything and update it with new cabinets and furniture but gonna use the same cabinet colors that Colton used so now I can’t wait to get it done!
