I have looked at hundreds of van builds and your's is by far the best. Simple yet covers the necessities. I am a 62 year old female and want a place to get away some times so this is a great build for me. I may not be able to do it as neatly as your build but I can get close. Good luck to your son on his journey.

You did an amazing job! I love the fold up bed, which converts into a seating area. I pray your son enjoys his van in every state he visits.🙂 He's lucky to have a dad to build his van. I wish I knew someone who could build me one, once I trade in my SUV for a van. Take care!😚

This is exactly what I need in my Sienna! I tried doing a no build, using a camping cot for sleeping, and keeping one of the third row seats up for sitting, but it all takes up a lot of room. It's functional, but I much prefer this all in one sitting and sleeping area, in such a small space.

I know this is an older video and you may not see this comment, but I have watched literally hundreds. I absolutely love your bed setup. I'm going to use a tri-fold mattress on the floor because I have a seat that folds down into the back and I'm going to take that out and I need to be able to fold up my mattress so I have more room during the day and also to access my storage. Very nice! 💕

This is very nice. Clever. I would turn the seat/bed around so you can sit in it and look out the window at whatever view you have when you’re camping. Also I like the gray paint but before I knew you were going to paint it I was hoping it would be stained a medium to light color because the patterns on the wood are so pretty and would stand out with a very unique pattern.

You can cook outside in a screened in room that attaches to the lift gate/glass hatch. Tail veil on Amazon or eBay.

Well done. I too was going to go with Eric's design but it is too big and that seat facing out the back does me no good because if I raise the bed for storage at all, it makes it too short for me to sit looking out the back. This is a little narrow for me at 25 inches, I have a full-size van, but they make that same mattress in a 31-inch wide size too, that is what I ordered.

I sure wished I had held out for an Astro. I bought a Chrysler Mini Van and at my age 71 it is a bit hard to get in and out. I have one trip planned and I might sell it. Wished I had seen this bed prior to building mine.

Amazing build, you should install a bike rack on the back doors to put the bike on and it would give him more living space in the inside, just a ideal...Peace
