You're joking right? Sammy's voice this night was rough. Now a rough night for Sammy would be a great night for most. But he was sick or something here. Still managed very well.

Awesome! They sounded their best ever live in 1995. So good that they could even open with Right Now. Which I don’t get why that became the opener. Seventh Seal is the perfect opener. Loud, powerful and hits you in the face. I guess Right Now was meant to say enjoy this moment to the audience. I get it but the crowd is so hyped up at the beginning no one is thinking that deep lol. As a drummer myself Alex was at his peak on this tour. I think the neck brace made him a better player because it improved his balance (pun non-intended). I never realized until recently when I started doing DDPY for my right hip how important it is to have your balance when you’re playing. When I regularly do the DDPY it makes my playing so much smoother.
From what I remember, Alex stopped drinking, improved his timing. That's was after 5150 I think. He's had a few years to really refine himself by this point
Excellent performance as always. I can tell Sammy's voice is bothering him. Yet he's still hacking it regardless. N.t.s. EVH sounds amazing. However I must say Michael Anthony really is the back bone of the band. His basslines really fill out the band. He plays these intricate bass lines yet they fit and compliment the song perfectly. Also he is by far one of greatest backup singers ever in Rock N Roll. His high harmonies and everything lower are astonishing. I've never heard him NOT sing well nor fall flat. RIP Eddie Van Halen. There has never been another guitarist/composer/writer anything like him.
This was their last U.S. lower 48 date on the Balance Tour, a week after this show they played Japan and Hawaii and the tour ended. Sammy Hagar did not return to Van Halen until the 2004 Reunion tour and that would be his last time ever as a member of Van Halen.
Michael "Mikey" Anthony Sobolewski (Chicago, Illinois; 20 de junio de 1954) es un músico estadounidense, conocido principalmente por su trabajo de bajista y corista de la banda de hard rock Van Halen.
Watch the live solo of eruption. 13 minutes. Watch his hand when you hear the part when it sounds like a chello . He's playing with the volume knob. No one catches that. Amazing
Feeling bad for Sammy here....he coulda used some throat coat tea. Gotta be rough singing these tunes night after night. This is their 10th gig in 15 days, and the band had been on the road for 8 months with only a short break midway thru the tour.
Setlist (with timeframe) 1. Right Now 0:00 2. Big Fat Money 5:30 3. Why Can't This Be Love 9:18 4. Top of the world 13:33 5. Not Enough 18:40 6. Bass Solo 22:54 7. Seventh Seal 26:00 8. Amsterdam 32:28 9. Mine All Mine 37:31 10. Alex Solo 42:48 11. Can't Stop Loving You 51:18
Ahhh...poor Sammy.....he's having to nurse his voice whilst occasionally still doing the higher notes to test it i guess..and all the time thinking to himself "gotta turn.....turn this thing around"! 😮
He got better as the show went on, but still wasn’t 100%. Over a decade later we started hearing what bad vocals were really like when Diamond Dave came back. At that point in time he was more like Cubic Zirconia Dave.
it seems like this is actually the video played on the on-stage screen, which would explain why during one way to rock, its just that pattern, you can see it on the screen in other shows, like the toronto one for example. no idea how this was obtained, but its pretty cool to see
Ya this happens sometimes with singers. A long tour long shows and these songs are tough to sing. So sick of people shitting on Sammy. He is an incredible singer. 100 times better than Roth at any point in his career. And then of course Roth got even worse.
@@GuitarGangsterArmi don’t really think it’s awful, even at his worst he sounds better than most. Since this was the last gig of the tour and ultimately the last where they were a band, I wish it would have been better. He still gave 110%
Van Halen really did screw up when they kicked out Sammy Hagar them bringing David Lee Roth back and that whole thing was a big hoax. I remember that back in the 90s that was just so they can record two new songs for the greatest hits album that bombed.
Eddie and Alex pretty much hated Sammy at this point. They had their own separate dressing rooms, hotel rooms, limousines, planes... the end was near. 😖😣😞
Bruh it’s a Floyd Rose system once the strings are locked it’s never getting outta tune. I owe one and it’s still in tune from the 90s when I last played it.. 🤔😉😆🤘🏼✌🏼
But even when Sammy had a bad night from being sick, he still sounded better than Dave live. Loved Dave, great "performer" but a terrible singer. I like both of them, two flavors vs. one.
Well, while this is a pretty good concert, thank God Roth eventually came back. The Sammy era has not dated very well. Those first six albums are timeless (and A DIFFERENT KIND OF TRUTH was the first excellent Van Halen album in a long time).
“you broke this machine up eddie” god damn VH fans whine about everything, all everyone ever talked about was dave and then when dave came back all everyone did was whine and bitch, and then when we got another album all the fans did was whine and bitch. Eds been dead since Oct 2020 and some random tard says “you broke this machine up eddie happy?” as if that message is reaching a dead guy
