I installed quiet baffles in my mufflers simply because I was starting to lose my hearing. The quiet baffles still allow for a great sound but at a decibel rate that is lower than stock or with louder baffles. The sound difference from stock is not very noticeable but the decibel reduction is. My hearing is so much better with these baffles. I highly recommend them.

Would be nice if you had a comparison video of standard vs quiet baffles :)

I'm installing the short quiet baffle without packing for the VH competition series on my Vrod. These short ones fit inside the existing baffle and require a repack of that existing baffle. How many times around would you recommend wrapping the new packing ? Thanks!

I love these as they eliminate the crack sound and brings it to a low rumble

Recently found some used V&H Cruzers (31461) for my Shadow ACE. The baffles look like they were wrapped at one time because of the remnants of fiberglass. Like my neighbors and want to know what fiberglass wrap I should use to keep the peace? Yes, I got the jet kit. Cheers

Hi All need some advice. I have Cobra installed and find the muffler waaay to loud on long trips. I dpn't have original muffler otherwise I would return to stock. I can see the baffle inside the Cobra and was going to pull it and pack it to see if this would help at all OR, will the Vance and Hines fit, if so where do I order from

I put the quiet baffles in my V&H Straightshots. can't take the noise anymore but made no difference. I then wrapped them with fibreglass, still not enough. I'm now gonna cut em in half and weld a plate in the baffle mid way down. Gotta see what it does.

appreciate the video. I want better than stock sound, but I live in a neighborhood and leave fire work at 530am. I wish you had done a sound comparison with a decibel meter.

Not sure if this will be seen... but I have a Honda rebel 300 V&H but it gets too loud. Is there a baffle for my exhaust on the market?

End cap not coming off...removed both screws...no way I can't seperate endcap without some hammering...any suggestions?

Do you think these will create any problem or impact on the fuel injection or engine and damage them in the long run? Is it required to use a fuelpak and make the correction? Please suggest.

gotta say....as easy as these are to change....I'm gonna grab a set of the quiet baffles for long rides on the Softail with the Straight shots...and leave the 'naked' louvered baffles in for the town riding and overall crazy loud for safety aspect. thanks for a great Vid, sir!

I've run my bike with and without baffles and it definitely runs better with baffled pipes. Removing the baffles will cost you some low end torque and in some cases may cause your engine to run lean. I don't need my bike so loud it wakes the dead.

How do you install this on a motocross bike with fmf titanium 4.1 exhaust?

Love the video and agree with you hate the idea of quiet baffles but, I am going to Germany. They have some strict laws for noise will this help? I love my staggered short shots on my 96 Softail custom Evo. Can’t beat that carburetor sound, potato potato! I would really hate having to switch them out for, gulp, stock!

I installed the quiet baffles on a 2014 Street Bob in Big Shots staggered. I was a bit sceptic but I'm very happy with the result. They take the sharp edge of the noise and now the bike sounds great. Not quiet at all; just much more comfortable. Nice roar...

Dear Lenny,Thank you for the video. I'm interested in a Harley, but it has Vance & Hines Short Shots. I haven't listened to it start up yet. I like the sound of Screaming Eagle slip ons better though, but on the other hand the Short Shots baffled do sound better than the stock Short Shots to me. If I decided to go with the Screaming Eagle slip ons, would I have to buy the stock Harley pipes then buy the Screaming Eagle slip ons? Thank you.Sincerely,William

I was wondering what size diameter pipes would these fit in? I am thinking about getting some slash cut 40in drag pipes for my 07 softail standard. Due to my bike being fuel injected I need to have some back pressure. So I was wondering would one of these baffles fit a 1 3/4in or a 2in pipe?

Any way to know which of these will fit a 2-1/4" OD pipe? Trying to shush Supertrapp Mean Mothers pipes on my Dyna.

I'm thinking about installing these but my main question is that I see they are capped on one end. is that going to take away from the performance of my bike by choking it up?

Hey I got a pair of these quite baffles from you guys for my honda vtx1800 big shots. Baffles come with fiberglass packing wrapped in plastic, do I need to remove that wrapping before installing or leave it on? Thanks.

Love all what you do, here is my problem. I have a 2008 Suzuki blvd m109r with vances hines #18287, brought the with no baffels. Was told the no longer have that exhaust, also was told the size of the baffel is 13" long an 2 3/4 end. will you please direct me to someone that no's where I can get them...

Hi Lemmy, I have the V&H twin slash slip on mufflers on my Iron 883 2015, I like the V&H sound but again it's a bit too loud. all the installation instructions I read about installing the baffles talked about removing the stock baffles but my twin slash came with no baffles at all, would I still be able to install the quiet baffles? V&H recommended 1.5in Quiet Baffle 21899.

So I’ve had my 96 sportster for almost two years no the bike as been with me through a lot and is very sentimental . My landlord nologer allows me to keep it at my residence because it’s too loud. So it sits on the side of the road about a block from my house. It has stock pipes on. I would really like a new pipe that gives me that deep rumble I enjoy. But I’m looking for something that I can bolt on that will quite down enough to please my landlord, then I can easily remove it once I’m on the street. Any advice?

Anyone know of something that works for a V & H pro pipe? Bought my pipe from revzilla 01/22 in 03/22 I got a chance to test the pipe sound and decided I needed to order their quiet baffle. Found out that V&H dropped the pipe and quiet baffle - V&H was no help whatsoever when I asked them for potential solutions & the guy on the phone was like talking to a politician rather than a tech support rep who gave a damn about the $1300 I had just spent on their products (pipe + air cleaner + tuner).

do they fit the vh shortshots for a 09 nightster?

Hardly any sound difference at all on V&H straight shots on Harley Sportster 48 1200. They do however give a little back pressure which definitely improves overall performance.

Do you gain torque with the quiet baffles?

Do they make them for Competition 2 into 1 (Low Rider S)? I've been looking, but can't find anything...

Hi Lemmy, I have V&H short-shot installed on my 2011 street bob.. I'm considering Quiet Baffle due to laud noise I'm casing my neighbors.. Therefore, the following are my few question about those quiet baffles: 1- Is there major difference between the V&H Quiet Baffle vs Super Q Quiet Baffle? 2- From the pictures i saw and some of reviews i read, it seems that 'Super Q Quiet Baffle' might require some modification to be made on the short-shot in order to fit it, am i right? 3- while configuring Fuelpak FP3 it asks me for the type of baffles on the exhaust however, in Fuelpak FP3 there is no Super Q Quiet Baffle option, therefore, what shall i chose in the app when tuning and will that have an effect on the tuning? 4- While installing the Quiet Baffle or Super Q Quiet Baffle will i have to use anything other than the "L Key" to be able to slide in the baffle screw it again? look forward to hearing from you mate.

Have you done a db test with the pipes stock at idle and then say 3,000 RPM and then compared that to the Quiet Baffles at idle and at 3,000 RPM and the Super Q Baffles at idle and at 3,000 RPM? I've listened to many RU-vid videos that have these pipes. I wonder if the people recording set the audio to manual so the device does not increase or decrease volume. Anyways I'm looking to get the Short Shots for my Street Bob and am contemplating if I want the Quiet Baffles or Super Q Baffles. Good video and great reminder about fiberglass!

Are there different baffles for the V&N Slip-on pipes or are these only for full system exhausts? And assuming the only change i make on an Iron 1200 are these slip-on pipes, Will the bike run fine if I don't do a re-tune? Thanks

Its almost impossible to tell the difference between V&H Standard and Quiet baffles sound. They do however give a little more back pressure and lessen the backfire.

In europe they cost about 100 bucks a piece...so I made some myself ✌

Yes much better than the original baffels in my long shot staggerd befor it was cop bait and just sounded like a wanker now with qiuet baffels it has a much deeper solid sound with out the annoying open rumble that frankly sounded fucked

I watched the whole thing for the before and after demo I KNEW would be there. Not so much....

These things are just about impossible to get out once installed. They deepen the sound and sound good but they certainly are NOT quiet.

I happen to own the loudest Harley I’ve ever heard in person. And is confirmed by everybody I ride with. And it’s not good. Either I ride back of the pack or the other guys stay far behind me, it was reported to me that every time i passed a car people held their ears which meant weren’t holding the wheel. I ordered the super Q.... damn I’m getting old. When I want to shoot flames again they will be easy to take out

There baffles are totally worthless , theses damn V&H pipes can not be quiten down !

why don't you just go back to stock, in most cases it sounded just as good anyway.
