In my VW Rabbit, I replaced my OEM solenoid with an upgraded one by RKX Tech for my Sanden compressor. The improvement in cooling is amazing! I really like this new system.

Do you have any experience troubleshooting the 6CVC140e compressor mounted on Honda Civic 1.5 RS Turbo 2016 model? It blows warm air after cold intermittently. Thanks for your advice in advance.

@@ADPTraining Yes, I need to turn off and on the AC switch to get it to cold. The cycle then continues. Can you recommend an aftermarket replacement brand for the compressor? Thanks again.

Since changing the displacement controls the temperature, what controls the displacement? Fan speed?

To clarify my question, I am asking if the heater fan speed controls the solenoid which in turn, controls the displacement?

You're missing the point, the displacement is controlled by the AC head or computer.

@@ADPTraining You're right, I am missing the point. What tells the ECU what the set point is? I know that it is not always full on or full off. Where/what is the controller other than the AC button?

This video is inaccurate as far as the clutch details. My car has a variable displacement compressor WITH a clutch. The reason for this is if you don't want the AC or defroster running at all, there is no need to run the compressor. When the AC or defroster are on, the compressor runs constantly as opposed to cycling due to the variable nature. There may be some cars that don't have the clutch, but to say that no variable compressors have a clutch is not true.

@@ADPTraining Incorrect. Look it up. Some variable displacement compressors DO have a clutch. For reference, my 2003 Saturn L300 has that setup and it came that way from the factory.

@@ADPTraining I have owned the car since new, and it has never had the compressor or clutch replaced. By design, when the AC, heat or defroster are running the clutch stays engaged where other cars will cycle the clutch based on system pressures. It is something that makes my ac system more complicated to charge as system pressures don't behave as they do in traditional compressors.

By the way, my car's setup is not unique, nor is it rare. Many cars have variable compressors with clutches.

Agreed. I have seen variable compressors with clutches too. Your point about the compressor always pumping if the shaft rotates is not really correct. If the swash plate is not being commanded to tilt no pumping will occur.@@ctleng76
