@@davidstuart4915 can confirm had it for 4 years now and has been great. Some issues with pressure pipes splitting but otherwise has done me very well.
@@gemmahutton2445 I bought it from amazon for about £15, its not great for calls but perfect for music (just search for fm bluetooth transmitter), most work well for music.
ive read through a few not all of the comments on here and very surprised at the low amount of negative comments regading these cars, examples being dpf problems ,head gasket ,electrics ,maf sensor ,battery and windows that just open magically overnight when your in bed ,and the dreaded timing belt/oil leak ,they seem to be ok for the first couple of years if you get a fairly new low milage one but the drop in price is consistant with the issues the car has after a few years of owning ,ive owned 2 and im still tempted by the good looks of the car to buy again ,but even though some of the replacement parts are considerably cheaper than higher market cars it soon mounts up when they do start to go wrong
I do not have this car now, it has been a bit of time since I sold it but I had 3 different astras and this one was def my favourite. I owned it for a couple of years and had no issues with it (I think just balancing the wheels and new changing the battery). I think a lot of it is to do with previous owners driving styles and how well it's maintained. I also think that above 100-120k miles, issues probably start to arise but this is more a guess as I haven't owned a high mileage car as it can be cheap to buy but very expensive to keep repairing.
Was looking to pick up a 1.4 138bhp and had dismissed the diesels in my mind but after watching this I thought okay I’ll try the diesel as well. Day off today, drove the diesel, deposit down. Cheers dude!
Vlad Travels like you, but not directly, I’m going from a 2003 mk2 clio which lets in water so my footwells are usually soaked and my chair gives me a very damp arse. So ready for this change haha Yeah the petrol showed 26mpg on the test...Sack that. 43 showing on the diesel run and it felt considerably more nimble when you want to get moving. Eek I’m so excited
I thought it was Liverpool because of the reg (LAD) but realised it mustn't be because he left his camera at the entrance of the driveway & still had it after parking the car to upload his video 🤣🤣 (P.S I am buying an Astra GTC 2.0 CDTI SRI today so I hope it is as good as you reckon)
I love the astra a lot but if you can get a scirocco of the same age/mileage for a similar price, VW is supposed to be really good quality so I would go for that.
I have a yellow gtc 1.4 love love love my car little boys in vws race off at the lights next to me i think nah my car has too much class ...even though I could kick your arse lol
Sure mate, I enjoyed it. It's around 35 around town and up to 44 on the motorway so high 40s combined, its really good. I sometimes have a bit of a heavy foot so some people will get an even better mpg.

Glad you like it, it is a great car, I am smiling nearly every time I drive it! I never felt the need to get better speakers, the sound quality is decent in my opinion :)
Is there actually anything that stands out as a negative for the car so far? People say that 19in wheels are expensive but all tyre profiles i see on autotrader are 18in. Also is the mpg alright in relative terms? Thanks
So far I really like it. Some things to note: -my wheels are 20" so I don't even want to imagine how much the tyres will cost when I have to change them, they get dented/buckled fairly easily too so need to be careful -the new battery cost me £150 to buy because of the stupid start/stop -overall, loads of parts are available for this car and other parts are relatively cheap -MPG: if I drive like crap I get 28mpg, normal mixed driving: 40mpg, motorway driving: up to 54mpg Hope this helps, any other questions, give me a shout :)
I’ve got 2.0 CDTI GTC 2012 done 97,000 miles now still sharp 165 bhp same gearbox as the VXR (F40) the 19” 235/45/R19 and are not cheep but you can shop online and get a good deal
Think it depends on what cars you had previously mate, mines were all 1.4 non turbo petrol so pretty slow and this one feels like a rocket haha, I would recommend it for sure
@@harryjones428 yeah in that case you'll def be loving the astra haha. The petrol one will probably be a bit cheaper to ensure and maybe a little quieter but with worse fuel economy but whichever you choose, I think you'll enjoy it a lot :)
Sure mate, I've had a couple and the latest one I just got from amazon for about £15 and it works well, especially for music, for hands free chatting the mic is a bit weak tbh.
