Astra = All the modern safety features of the Vectra but with better handling and more fun to drive. Great little car! Maybe get a body kit in future? Also, looking forward to seeing the mystery car! 😀
Hi, Hope your keeping well. First off, I would just like to say how much I am enjoining your channel. Love every video, and I find them very good quality and I enjoy watching them. I started watching them from the first you posted. Second, I complete agree with you on the Astra. Its a brilliant car, and highly reliable if serviced and looked after correctly. I noticed you live in my area (Wrexham area) and from your video's your not far away from me. I've got a Astra J SRI 1.7 CDTI 125 VX-LINE Sports Tourer in white with 130k on it. And I've loved every minute of ownership. Never had any problems with it. Its towed my caravan all around the country and it never missed a beat. I noticed you spend a lot of time on the Corsa B of yours, and as there from the same era, I've currently got two mk3 cavaliers, a LS 1.8 with 48 k on it from new and a SRI 2.0 Cav with 72k on the clock. Both amazing cars. Also over the years, I had a 2.0 Cav CDX and a 1.8 Cav Colorado. Both of them where the best cars I had ever owned. Finally, I have also got a rover 100 with 22k on it from new and a Sinclair C5 in near new condition. We also have 3 Series 2 Austin Maxi's which are regularly in use. So it could be said I love my retro cars, especially Vauxhall's! Keep safe mate, and keep up the good work. I have told all my car buddies about your channel, and hope they like it as much as I did. Hi ethan, rare to see and astra j in white i wonder if it was an ex cop car or adleast people think it might be. Looked through your folder and i love the old cavs, my dad had a white sri years ago which would be worth a bit now in good nic. @@blurbtv My Astra was a Ex NHS (Doctors Car). And Is quite rare as you don’t see many Sport tourer Vx Line. I love the cavs, and all of the ones I currently own are in very good condition. And I’m not going to part with them for a while yet!I Love what your doing with the corsa btw. And no problem, I think your channel is brilliant and you should definitely have more subs for all the hard work you do. I've owned an astra 2.0 diesel with 90k on the clock when i bought it. It was supposed to be a quick in The middle car because i wanted a 530d, but i ended up doing 25k miles in it over 2 years. It's asked for nothin. A sensor change at one point and the usual oil and filter services every 8k.
I have just traded in my vw polo tdi for 65 reg 1.6 diesel Astra the engine is a lot smoother then the polo I love the extra room I now have my son had a 05 reg 1.6 Astra from new which he managed to take to 160,000 miles before it needed big jobs doing on it if my new Astra is has good has my polo was which I had for 12 years and 100,6000 miles I will be happy the polo was needing some costly jobs doing also a wanted a bit more comfort has a get older
I'm looking to buy a used 2013 Astra but alot of horror stories from owners about the M32 box, coolant loss issues and PCR valve problems have been scaring me off. What mileage is your car?
We just bought another 1.6 na astra j in red and honestly you cant go wrong with the na 1.6 engines they seem bullet proof if you understand how the vvt effects the power. Either that or the 1.4 turbos. Avoid the 1.6 turbo however they are chocolate.
@@blurbtv I've decided to skip the J Astra now! Test drove a 90k GTC 1.4T earlier today - lovely looking car very comfortable but very obvious M32 gearbox whine above 30mph. Can't be bothered a gearbox rebuild, let alone the other issues that seem to affect the Js. Compare that my Saab 9-3 - didn't have any issues with it until 140k when the electric window motors starting failing!
What's it like for size compared to the Vectra C? Appreciate this is a old video, still running my 2008 Vectra 1.8vvt (135,000) - these Astra J's seem good value
They are although I later swapped the j for the new insignia b grand sport as although the room was great in the astra I missed the size of the vectra.

Its m20 i believe which is almost identical with M32 but paired with low torque engine it should last long. Also you dont have to worry about M32 its way more sturdy after 2012 its doing fine on my remaped 1.7cdti with around 370nm of torque
