In a video I have published some time ago, (here: • Read and write MJD 1.3... ), I have mentioned the removal of the immobilizer on the above ecu/car.
It is spread over some forums, that in this ecu you can not remove permanently the immobilizer, as within a certain amount of ignition cycles the ecu locks it self again.
In this video I will show you how I have done it to permanently immo off this ecu.
I will not be showing what or how to modify the data to disable the immobilizer, what I will be explaining is how to prevent the ecu from revert the modifications and lock again...

I have exactly the same problem with a combo 1.3cdti. the car came back to me after a week since I disable immo.I put back immo dump and car started. It's drive me crazy. That makes sense, Because the write protect in SPI eeprom is in software registers and not hard wired on ECU. Big Thumbs Up...

Try to desolder pin 3 of the eeprom and pull it to ground to enable write protect. It's just a thought

Works on a Marelli 8GMC.C1 2012 Fiat 500 1.4L. Copied the original eeprom to the donor ECM and locked it with BP0 and BP1. Car works again with a scrapyard PCM. One thing I found out for this particular car is that the crankshaft position map for misfire detection is written to the same eeprom as the SKIM key data. Code P0315 - "Crankshaft Position System Variation Not Learned". It does not effect the drivability of the car at all. I used a cheap eeprom tool from amazon - CH341A USB A free program called, "AsProgrammer_v2.1.0.13"

hi may i ask if is not possible to write the eeprom, the oil counter, mileage, injectors etc ... remains always the same?

The injector codes are stored in the flash... not in the eeprom. As for the rest... probably not...😉

Really helpful video thanks, getting my ecu replaced with a new unit being sent from Germany on my Astra 1.3CDTI. All going well, a local mechanic will fit it and it will be coded at a Vauxhall dealer, so I am reading up as much as I can on it in case any problems afterwards.

Hi mate if I want to get a ECU from another car that is not paired to mine what chips on the board could I remove and replace to another board to make it the same as original and is this possible how many ?? Chips on board hold the data connected to that particular car thanks.

Depends on the car... some cars you get away with only the eprom... however, some ecus the eprom is internal, or on the MCU... the MCU is a bit more tricky to move though... better to transfer data... Thank you for watching!

@@LMAutoRepairs it's the 1.3 cdti Vauxhall board magneti marelli as you are working on in vid mate if I take the eprom from the original board that was working before the water damage and get a doner board from salvage car and swap eprom is that the only part that is different and makes the board unique from a stock board thanks again for the reply.

Good job. But you won't be able to diagnose the ECU again if something wrong, as the ECU will no be able to write DTCs on the eeprom. That must be good for non road car, but not really a solution for all day car

Mate dont understand why some users would send nasty messages in stand to try to think with each other h8w to find a solution anyway great video again as always .about this ecu i khnew that immo off only offers a limited time of ignition and you have to reset the counter again its what you see when you read a opel ecu with carprog you have this option too .what im trying to do at the moment is figure out how to do an immo off to a edc15 mercedes benz ipo an emulator if you have some idea man would be more than welkom.

Hi Thank you for watching! As I have mentioned on the video, X-prog does not have the option to secure the chip. You do normal reading and writing only... Hope that helps!

HI, thanks for sharing the info with us mate. Quick question: I have water damaged ECU 1.3 CDTi MJD 603.sa with same eeprom. If I buy a second hand ECU, will it be enough to swap the Eeprom from my old in order to start the engine? Thanks in advance

Hi Indeed it is... I actually have a video already recorded, showing exactly that... Swap the eeprom and you will be fine... Make sure you unblock the drains and the ecu is properly sealed afterwards... in case we are talking about the Corsa D....😉 Thank you for watching and for your comment!

@@sherry9313 Yes... if you have downloaded the eeprom with K-tag... but K-tag can't manipulate registers... I think you are confused, you need to research before start to do that... or you might brick the ecu...
