start to strip down the 2.0 Vauxhall Vivaro engine only to find out I could be into a bit of a problem before even get started. What do you think? Put your comments below 👍
Hi, ive done this job. The issue is you have 2 different types of M9R engine. 780 and 786. There are 2 different injector types, top feed and side feed. Piezo and electromagnetic. You have 3 choices. 1. Go with the top feed injectors and you will need to change full engine wiring loom including ecu, clocks and maybe also bcm. 2. Swap over cylinder head, camshaft carrier, camshafts, fuel rail, injectors and pipes. This is actually the preferred method as all you are keeping is the short motor. 3. Swap just the camshafts and the carrier along with injectors, fuel rail and pipes etc onto the existing cylinder head but be aware that these are not machine matched and camshaft journal tolerances might possibly cause problems. I would check with vernier calipers first as excessive tolerance might cause low oil pressure issues and not enough will cause camshaft seizure. I went for option 3 with my own van and did all the work myself and nearly 5000 miles later i have absolutely no issues whatsoever. Defo new oil pump though. Cheers.
Regarding steering wheels Mark, im sure you know all these vans are essentially Renault based so straight swap wheels are usually clio, megane rs or gt etc. Great video mate, following the build 👍
cheers mate,👍 I've only done (time laps) some of this video due to time taken in doing some of the job, but what needs show i will still keep showing for sure 👍
I enjoy the long vids fella reason being anybody that’s worked on cars vans etc will always run into those jobs that turn into a nightmare and you show that which is what I like to see jeeps it real 👍
Hello mate bought a pump went for the return pipe connection to the left in this video pulled diesel through a bit of air but nothing that would stop it now onto check the timing next this white one is as wet as yours shocking to think if they had just brought the engine forward a few inches the injectors wouldn't be trouble
Hi mate Not sure on that mate, as meant for dpf only, ( is they a senor you can remove tho o2 one? To use maybe) going tho the turbo could damage or cause it to have turbo run away,
