My 2011 Honda Pilot has been throwing the P0420/P0430 catalyst inefficient code. There could be many causes of this. Before changing the incredibly expensive catalyst, we'll try a few troubleshooting steps that are far cheaper. In the last video we started by changing the PCV valve. In this video we will disable the VCM (variable cylinder management, the green ECO light) system to prevent the cylinders from turning off. This should help the piston rings seal better to cut down on oil burning and consumption. It should also make the motor smoother and drive better. How will it affect gas mileage?
