Hi, I'm glad the video was helpful. I bought it directly from their website and they claim that they have a warehouse in the US and UK. The only proof was the delivery time in 6 days, so not sure where it is but there is warehouses to reduce delivery time.

Hi, I have an f30, so uaing ista d without any problem. However, the seller states that the device works with all bmw cars as long as they have an obd2 port. I suggest you contact them for better clarification.

It works with all models. I tried i-level software update on f32 and it works fine

Hi Allen, it's been a while since I set up the connection so I'm struggling to remember the exact settings. However, I clearly remember that I had a similar connection issue in the beginning and I solved it by checking installation packages on their website. There are a few files to install along with some icom drivers, so I suggest you have a look into it again and maybe reinstall them again. As for passthrough toggle, I think you need to lunch ista first and after a few sec try to toggle doip. I'm sure it'll be working after playing with these settings. I'm also glad that your power supply is almost complete. Hope all works well. 💪 keep us updated and let us know if you need further help.

@@bmwsolutions7880 Thanks! I did get it working eventually with the "ICOM" drivers and setting ISTA to ICOM. My car is a 2006 E90 so I don't think the DOIP switch will work with my vehicle. But ISTA is definitely reading the voltages from the car through the "ICOM" setting using the VCX SE. So I think I'm good to go.

@@AllenSampsell where did either or both purchase this thing from and how much did it cost? Not trying to be nosey, just want stay away from getting a bootleg version or any of the sort thanks

Yes it's possible but expect it to work slower. I tried it on external hdd as didn't have enough space on my macbook, it worked just fine but much slower, so I ended up replacing my macbook's ssd to 1tb.

Hi, thanks for your comment. Yes you can buy the dongle separately and it works with all ista software regardless of where you downloaded them from. I actually bought ista and dongle separately as well👍

Yes everything works as expected. It is an icom equivalent device so it should serve as one. I have tried software update and programming which worked fine with both ista and esys but I didn't understand what you meant by key programming as it's not possible to programme keys.

No, the license is valid indefinitely. The company also sells licenses for different car brands for same/similar device, so that's the reason it shows a date like that. It renews itself when you press update license button.

Hi, the software you need is bmw ista+ (Rheingold). They sell it installed on a hdd but it's an old and slow hdd especially if you run the software externally from hdd. So I suggest you buy the software separately. I bought mine from ebay back in time for about £60. You're welcome👍 this particular device works with bmw only but they have different ones on their website for other car brands as well. Some devices can support many different cars if you buy licence. But again, this device is for bmw only and you can't buy a license for other brands.

You can't do offline flashing/programming with any device, not even with icom. Some softwares allow you to pre-set certain parameters in coding but you still need to connect a compatible device in the end to run your flashing process.

@@bmwsolutions7880 I think that you are referring to is that you need a valid online account (on Mercedes it's using Xentry software). However it's possible to do offline coding if you download locally database. So I don't agree with you it's possible. But not with all devices guys don't try it using Tactrix Openport 2.0 from China... normally this device is compatible with offline coding that's why I bought it but waiting for the delivery... will update you guys with a video when hopefully I fix my car

@@thesmartguy3523 I managed to flash again my dashboard using a breaking table. I had to remove the dashboard to pin it directly with wires because of baud rate messing up as it is going through car SAM Gateway (Mercedes.. not sure for other brands) so only way is to remove devices on that canbus and flash separately. I would say device is great but I actually used the Tactrix to flash again... so it depends at least you have real emulator with this device. And yes once again I flashed offline with Vediamo

Thanks for your comment, sharing information and experience are the way to avoid getting ripped off at dealerships. As for your question, I run ista on my macbook air via bootcamp or parallels desktop virtual machine. However I bought ista from ebay and the seller installed it remotely for free. I think that's the best and most secure way. There are also many videos showing how to install ista but it changes from version to version in most cases, so I recommend you buy a solid ista package with remote installation which shouldn't cost more than £60-70. Considering the software capabilities, it's a very reasonable investment.

🤣 you're right, I should have updated the information, so lets get it straight. It was a good and very cheap replacement comparing to original icom. It is able to do everything that icom does. However, it stopped working after a few months without any indication. All the correspondence with seller took weeks as they don't speak English but using Google translate or similar thing. Last contacted the seller a week ago and they told me that there was a chip shortage due to covid and it could take long time. It's been 2 months since I sent it to the seller in china and I just received the fixed dongle (not a replacement) yesterday. It works again as normal. Bottom line is I still recommend this dongle for the price and capabilities, however don't expect a straightforward support when you need it desperately. On the other hand, even if you brake it or lose it or can't get a replacement, a new one would still be cheap to buy. You can actually buy 5 or 6 of these dongles for the price of a single icom. I was upset and frustrated about the whole customer support and was expecting a replacement but they're not that big of a company based in China. Hope this information helps.
