I was confused why you were calling Follow Your Heart Cheese, Earth Island. As a Canadian-American, it's funny how often the same product names change between the two countries.
Violife vegan greek white, similar to feta cheese(non vegan) it's amazing and it can be eaten out of the fridge! Give it a try 'cause it's one of the best vegan cheeses. Also.... you're pretty, girl! 😍
Vio Life has been a saving grace. Cheese was the hardest thing to find a vegan version of that liked. I had COVID too and lost my taste and smell. I had it beginning of December. My smell has come back 10 times stronger to the point where I get nauseous frequently when smells get to over powering. Taste is still slowly coming back. Spicy is my strongest taste right now so I am obsessed with spicy food. Still can’t taste sour. Have food things I loved before COVID I don’t like anymore, even make me sick. I went Vegan about a month after I had COVID. I just couldn’t stand the taste of meat anymore. Before COVID I was gluten and dairy free due to allergy sensitivity. Your Chanel has been really helpful. ❤️
Latest generation of Daiya shreds I find really good, where I haven't liked *any* of their other cheese versions. That is, I've actively DISLIKED them. I have found the new Miyoko's shreds to be very different and at first I really didn't like the cheddar one, while I did like the pepperjack, I think that the Miyoko's cheddar shreds are actually excellent for melting on burger arrangements that benefit from a CHEDDAR (not LOW-MELT/AMERICAN-STYLE) cheese. Namely, I live in NM, and here, we eat as much roasted Hatch (that's a town in NM) green chile every late summer/autumn as we possibly can, and the classic thing is green chile cheeseburgers here, and honestly I've really turned around on this point with Miyoko's as a result. Of melting the cheddar shreds on green chile. The NEW formulation Daiya "Mexican" shreds are more of "cheap cheese" style but really rich, melt amazingly and are also honestly very good with this sort of thing. Just my two cents after recent forays. Now I want to go make some daikon bacon and Impossible green chile bacon cheeseburger, dammit. But it's also not chile harvest time yet, sonofabitch.
This is very helpful. Please make more. I am slowly converting to veganism and would love to find a good cheese to replace what I have now. Your channel has helped me in so many ways. Thank you!
Huuuuge shoutout to Candice that gave Greece a shoutout in her video! Hello in Greek is "yia sou" (γειά σου) Love your channel Candice, I am always looking forward to your new videos! Tschüsschen
I just bought them because of you, you sold me! Just wondering if you know whether you can take all vitamins together? I bought a bundle of 3 + the fiber gummies and wasn't sure if you can take them all at once. I really need to up my vitamin game LOL
In southern Ontario Farm Boy now has their own line of vegan cheeses, $4.99 I think? Most of them are amazing. I particularly like the smoked Gouda. Really like the Applewood smoked cheese too. Thanks for the review!
For my fellow Canadians: Walmart (Great Value Brand) and Superstore + No Frills (No Name Brand) sell Dark Chocolate and Dark Almond Chocolate bars that just so happen to be vegan in the ingredients and sell for 1$ a bar (100g) it’s very sweet chocolate too not the bitter dark chocolate you’d usually get.
Violife used to be my go to, but Daiya has honestly nailed it with their new cutting board style! My dairy-loving husband has eaten my mac n cheese and not batted an eye. I had to tell him it was dairy-free!
Myokos everything is amazing. Violife parm is amazing as well. It looks, melts and tastes just like the real thing. It's expensive, but if one is only using it for special occasions or recipes, I recommend spending the extra.
This is very good to have like a little notion of what's going on in the market as I don't get to try all the brands. Thank you for sharing your review!
I just tried the "sheese" brand it's the best I've tried so far especially loved how creamy the greek style block was. I had expected a feta experience but it was more like a creamy goat cheese so good crumbles like feta and also melts really great .
Vegan 2 years and I seem to be one of the very few vegans who genuinely like a lot of vegan cheeses, raw as well as melted 😂 the smell of a dairy cheddar block makes me heave now!
I think you're right!! I haven't had a really good experience melting the daiya block. The slices never fail me though, especially their reformulated slices, they are EVERYTHING. The daiya swiss cheese slices blew my mind, only vegan cheese slice that I actually really really enjoy eating 'raw' in a sandwich
Longo's in Toronto also has a great selection of vegan cheeses! I currently use Emborg that I get there. I haven't tried the applewood, that'll be my next try!
I got the applewood from real Canadian superstore and I have been very impressed by it. Every morning for the past few days I started my days with a breakfast sandwich with a folded just egg, this cheese and yves veggie canadian bacon. I’m the only vegan at home so when I’m opening a vegan cheese I need to eat it every day for a week straight otherwise it will go bad 🤣. I think “every” hard vegan cheese are terrible raw though, this one is no exception 🤣The only hard Vegan cheese I like raw on a cracker is from the brand sheese, the cranberry one.
Violife has an Epic Mature Cheddar and a Smoked Provolone and they are both sooo good, I prefer them over the regular cheddar slices. The provolone blew my mind 🤯
I recently tried a few Farm Boy vegan cheeses. If you have a Farm Boy near you, check them out. They taste great cold or in a grilled cheese. They also have some great faux meats there too.
love all the cheeses you tried. And I definitely eat violife right out of the package. Look for Parmela at Sobey’s. Amazing cheddar and Smokey Gouda. Love the Winston(?) nose cameo 😁
I’ve never liked Miyoko’s 😭 I’ve tried probably everything they’ve put out and their products have always been overly sour and the flavor wasn’t always there. So, probably at the bottom of my list. I LOVE Violife, Good Planet, Daiya has grown on me (although it doesn’t resemble the flavor of cheese at all), and some products from Follow Your Heart
I really like miyokos and part of it is because they get the tang of a sharp cheese right, especially the cheddar spread. It's not for everyone but it does taste like the lactic acid in a very sharp cheddar which is what I like.
Applewood vegan is so good! It's really reasonably priced here in the UK (quite comparable to dairy cheese prices) so it's a shame it's so expensive over there
Love the videos! Has the sound changed? I'm finding I need to crank my phone volume all the way up to hear them, but then the ads are ear shatteringly loud
Hi from Toronto. Love your channel. If you get a chance to try Farm Boy brand vegan cheese from the Farm Boy stores. They are amazing. Come in a variety of shredded, blocks and sliced. Love this cheese.
Yes! I like most cheddar alternatives but mozzarella needs work. I like the miyokos cashew mozzarella but it’s so soft and hard to use for pizza because it doesn’t have the cheese pull
vio llife gives me kraft single/ marble cows milk dairy cheese hybrid vibe which is oh so nostalgic making it my favourite low/mid range price vegan cheese if im not getting cheese from the vegan butcher in my city
I found it... after 5 years 😭 by god I’ve found it The Apple wood one literally feels like real cheese when it’s cold and on a cracker! Glad it was in the video I love it
Been vegan around the same time and found the closest I've ever tasted to real rich cheddar cheese is the violife mature cheddar block! The first time I tried it...holy shit it's amazing and I am super picky with vegan cheese
The ones you buy are all pretty much vile 🤮 but you can make a good cheese at home with good ingredients and they’re nothing like these veg oil plastic imitation cheeses 🧀
Excellent vegan cheese review beautiful and gorgeous Candice the Edgy Veg and beautiful and gorgeous Molly Edgy Veg Junior. Love 🥰 the video and love💕💕 you both.
Violife slices put me off. The taste was so bad for me. Applewood is good. Had that this morning. In the UK its around £2.50. Very over priced at yours. But you do have lots more choices.
@@EdgyVeg me too. Also we don't have your variety of vegan cheese. Truth I'm not vegan because violife put me off.. Smell and texture. Its not cheese.. Wish I had tried Applewood first. Applewood be more affordable outside the UK please!. Be at least online and p and p. Would be cheaper than comparison of a shopping store. 20 plus dollars? Really?? Surely Applewood know the UK are seeing how they are making vegan more axessable. Im more edging to Vegan. Cheese is my biggest hold back I know that's a selfish thing that is. However, I can't cook 2 meals being a single mum. What I cook has to be bang on. My kids are not vegetarian either vegan. However, most of their diet is both because I want the best for them. And I'm Vegetarian. Love the fact they will pick a vegetarian dish sometimes like today.. Just because they know its better. The boys can make their own minds up when they are old enough about their diet. It has to be a heartfelt and true to yourself journey. My culture, Indian is vegetarian predominantly.. However, knowledge is so important. My cousins in India are dairy farmers. I have no idea how because Elvis and band. Not the best.
