@Gordon my family would constantly take the stuff I was using to look at the ingrediemt list to check if it was really vegan cause they thought I'm too stupid to just read it myself?
@Gordon asking you what you can eat isn’t stupid. You’re lucky people are curious about you. I don’t know anything that’s vegan normally at all tbh. Vegetables and potatoes. Idk
vegan doesn't automatically equal healthy, just healthIER than the average omni diet. it's still cholesterol free and less saturated fat, so it will help ethan's blood pressure and cholesterol, but he should look for foods that are both tasty and healthy. vegan isn't a fad diet, it's something you can happily be for the rest of your life. some lose weight, some don't, but it does majorly help with many health issues if done right. also, remember to take/eat b12, ethan!
Vegan Nutritional yeast fortified with B12 is my go to. Kinda has a cheesy taste, so I put it on salads and random goods to make sure I get the proper nutrients.
Comparing anything to the standard American diet is an improvement. Even so just with anything American, American vegan food is now getti g more processed and packaged beyond belief. Eat whole foods of literally anything and it's better than 70% of what most Americans eat
I mean if youre stuffing vegan cheese burgers and pizza down your fucking throat then NO SHIT its not healthy, but going vegan and cutting out the fatty foods will make you MUCH healthier in just a matter of weeks
I actually gained weight going from veggie to vegan because it is a lifestyle change! Now I understand your meal should mostly be fruit and veg and something more carby or processed is either a small portion of the meal or a treat
Been vegan for 12 years. There's plenty of junk food vegans that know they aren't eating healthy. Losing weight it easier while vegan, but not easiest. Tempeh is a good protein replacement to prep like a steak with steak sauce or something like barbecue sauce for a rib replacement. You can chop it up into little pieces to throw in a salad. I often eat a couple of tempeh packs for $2 each from trader Joe's for about 80 grams of protein before or after the gym. Vegan cheese is hit or miss because there are about a dozen different companies that make it with entirely different recipes. Some people overcook them as well.
@@baddie1shoe if someone was to jump into veganism without knowing the basics than yeah, their body would start to deteriorate just as anyone else would who doesn’t know how to properly eat or get nutrient. Like ? Girl, you honestly sound naive and a tad unhinged.

@@veganshredder no because there is healthy fats. Fats from animal products clog up your veins and lead to several heart diseases. Thats one of the reasons im vegan. For health and animals
Although the vegetarian diet has several proven health benefits, being a vegetarian or vegan does not necessarily mean being healthier. Replacing products and foods of animal origin with plant origin doesn't necessarily mean you will lose weight if you still don't make the correct food choices. Ethan should be looking for a professional, a dietitian or a nutritionist.
It is super obvious to everyone what he is really doing. Avoiding actual professional help and using this diet as an excuse to eat the same and not get better.
I’m vegan mainly for the animals. For my health too but I can attest to this 😂 oreo’s are vegan, most french fries, and there are tons and tonnnns of processed vegan food that are high in saturated fat. I kind of love that I have the option to eat super healthy or super unhealthy if I want. Vegan food has improved so much in mocking non-vegan food that if I want, I can have a burger, mac n cheese, and ice cream sundae of any kind :)
@@Briana12906 there is also an immune response that a lot of unhealthy vegans gets due to the fast change in diet. I have heard my doctor friend talk about how it isn't uncommon for vegans to get pretty sick when starting but get better over time when done right. I HIGHLY doubt Ethan will do it right unless he gets actual help. But we all know he doesn't want help, he wants an excuse to eat and eat and eat.
it would be so much fun to watch ethan make his own vegan food!! it's a great way for him to see what's entering his body, and i'm sure it'll encourage a lot of viewers to make their own vegan food. the crew can even judge his food, peace n luv 4 everyone >.
The beginning stages of being vegan you begin to realize that you have to give up certain things that will never taste how they did before you turned vegan.
As a Vegetarian for 25 years and a Vegan for 4 years the biggest thing you have to watch out for in gaining weight is Carbs. We over compensate a lot with eating lot’s of bread and starch. Very easy way to get fat as a Vegan. Although you will loose a lot of weight if you stop eating process Vegan food and avoid Carbs. Good luck Ethan, great moves, keep it up. Proud of you.
@@bskiez just because some people who happen to be vegans are also horrible people doesn't mean that everything they are should be disregarded. Being a vegan is the opposite of being part of a hate group- it's about stopping the torturing and suffering of animals that we all in society value :)
I’m glad I found a comment like this because I was about to say the same thing… he is so quick to get overly angry about the smallest things it genuinely scares me 😂
He takes some things too far and makes things worse for himself sometimes not admitting when he is wrong or knowing when to stop, he moves the goal post further out or whatever Ethan said lol some things start off as in good fun but then he gets dramatic and shoots himself in the foot at times and keeps his bit going for the sake of it lol he needs to just chill and be himself some times
I’ve always thought Ethan has had high potential to become vegan. It sounds like he’s into the ethics this time too, so hopefully it sticks this time. Would be cool to have a more mainstream RU-vidr like Ethan be vegan.
I have to add that it sometimes takes some time to find the perfect vegan cheese and just in general your favorite vegan products especially since so many new products are on the market now. But I think it‘s a lot of fun to test many different products and I‘m always excited to find new stuff at the supermarket
Yeaaaaah, I feel like they ate some weird shit here. What about bean burritos? What about falafal wraps? A tofu stir fry? idk I just think they went in wrong here.
miyoko's cheese is the best vegan cheese out there! whole foods has amazing vegan pastries (donuts, scones, cookies, etc) as well as Ben & Jerry's vegan ice cream. Pura Vita is an all vegan Italian restaurant that has amazing pasta dishes. And of course, Crossroads is always a go-to; they never disappoint.
@@rh4993 Chao is great, but doesn't offer the amount of flavors and varieties (shredded, mozzarella, etc.) that Miyoko's does. Would you rather put Chao cheese slices on your pizza or dollops of Miyoko's mozzarella?
Fries totally don't count cause most fries are vegan anyway. If anything, I think Ethan eating a plain fries first makes the review more solid.. Because he knows the base flavor of fry so it doesn't affect the Chilli and cheese review.
Wanna lose weight Ethan? Stop putting so much pressure on yourself!! You’re a busy dad who went on medication in the last year it’s normal! You look great. Also drink hot ginger teas! And find a good salad you like, a vegan kale ceasar is SO GOOD!!!! The more you poop the more weight you lose!!!!!!!!! So greens and ginger are your BFF 💘
pooping more does not mean you lose more weight, that's just unhealthy thinking. its more like a fiber rich diet will have you lose unhealthy weight, which yes, would make you poop more lol.
@@recoveringintrovert717 ginger helps get rid of inflammation that comes with excessive weight, and you feel fuller longer so you wont overeat (if that's an issue for you) so they aid you in weight loss. lots of people will put small amounts of ginger and apple cider vinegar in their teas and smoothies for that reason
Its definitely worth considering that Ethan is SUPER busy now adays. But you can imagine how exhausted he is of losing to his cravings after all these years. Trust me, I know.
yes yes more vegan taste tests !!! i highly recommend monty’s good burger for vegan cheeseburgers and shakes !! there’s sooo many amazing vegan restaurants in your area :)))
fat isn't the problem. its carbs. he binges carbs. thats why he cant lose weight. vegan food is mostly carbs aside from legumes which i doubt ethans gonna want to eat a shit ton of.
@@haxicle5378 haha calories in/out is literally what a diet is. that's not the point im making. I'm saying hes making it harder eating carb-heavy foods because its easier to overeat carbs by far and the diet he chose doesn't limit the foods that make it hard for him to lose weight. He went vegan before and ended up binging grains and almond milk.
@@vlvvv2064 i agree, but that doesn’t mean carbs are the problem. It would more likely be the lack of protein and fat, which isn’t too difficult to add even on a vegan diet.
veganism and eating a plant based diet is one of the best things you can do for the environment. it can be also amazing for your health as long as you eat a lot of real plant foods :) but overall, it’s an amazing thing to support and inspire others to do. i am very proud of the H3 crew for using their platform to help the environment and innocent beings 💖💖💖🙏💕🌈

I've always been a huge fan of the food segments. I love Ethan during those segments bc he's so energetic. Dan brings up good points and there's always a little bit of drama, but just the perfect dosage of it. Zach sometimes brings some controversial topics just to stir up the pot and Ian will avoid interaction. AB is the new addition to the food segments and his role is yet to be determined but he'll probably be an impartial part in all of this, only time will tell. I feel you on losing weight. It is hard. However, you can do it. Never say "diet" - change your life style. Eat healthy and just go for a walk with Hila and Theodore each day. You can do it!
Best way to do it, had a roommate for awhile that was like “Rice, chicken, broccoli for all 3 meals bruh and go to the gym for cardio twice daily” 😂 Cardio wasn’t a bad tip (not twice daily for me though lol), worked on portions, found healthyish meals I actually like, and got into geocaching/hiking/cemetery walks which has worked for me, I couldn’t get healthy if it meant hating my life everyday, even if it meant my weight loss journey is slower.
So so so proud I really hope he sticks with it and tries more whole foods as well as a balance of the comfort meat alternative foods + his personal training 🥺🥺🥺
Ethan, yes it is great, easy and sustainable. I’m +12 years vegan and I love this lifestyle the same today as I did on day one! It keeps on giving and makes you a happier human. If you allow yourself to really see and understand the suffering of billions of animals, there’s never going back to your old ways, I promise, but it’s something you have to feel deep on your heart level. It actually takes courage to open your heart this much to feel that pain first. Anyways, gosh, I really hope you’re serious about it and not just being funny for the podcast. This lifestyle is mighty and fun, throw yourself in, watch a ton of documentaries - there are many and they’re real good too.
@@eastonnida8213 sometimes, propaganda is a good thing. My husband is only 28 years old and already has heart disease. He’s not obese or sedentary, just genetically unlucky. We found out his arteries were blocked when he was 27. We’ve started reducing meat and dairy and his cholesterol went from 340 to 80. Making a major lifestyle change isn’t easy, but going back to your old ways in a moment of weakness is. That’s when it’s helpful to have the information from those documentaries in your head. Maybe you’re craving a steak, but then you think of the cow it came from. Maybe you want pork, but you remember how much cholesterol it has. Going into a vegan lifestyle overnight and with no knowledge as to why it can be beneficial is a setup for failure. I agree that a lot of documentaries are biased and some have misinfo in them, but for me, they’re more helpful than not as far as staying on track.
@@murphy1011 That's the issue though. I highly doubt your husband got healthier from simply cutting out meat and dairy but rather he started to eat healthier because he cut out meat and dairy. None of the meat or dairy we eat is natural anymore and we don't move as much as we should. Im happy for your husband and you and being vegan might have been good for your husband but for the majority of people, it is not the healthiest lifestyle.
The problem with Ethan's weight problem is he isn't brutally honest with himself. Something happened in his life that has caused this weight gain and then he wants some quick fix to a problem that is going to take months, even years to see any real results. He wants sympathy for something that he can fix if he truly applies himself. He is in the most optimal position to be able to lose weight. All the best resources someone can ever ask for to hlep them lose weight, they are easily accessible to him. Losing weight isn't suppose to be easy or fun. There will always be an excuse to why he can't lose weight, he wants sympathy and I personally don't have any for him, he complains about it but then doesnt commit himself like he should. He says he can't but that's a lie, he doesn't want to lose weight. We can't decide to not breath one day, we have to do it, it's not a choice. He decides everyday how he wants to treat his body. Until he treats his health like he treats his job, he'll never see any real change.
it’s really not that easy, it’s not like he makes a conscious decision every day to overeat and be fat, if you’ve been in this circle for so long then it’s just so incredibly hard to get out. it’s not like you can just quit eating one day to the next, you still have to eat food. it can be compared to like being an alcoholic but you can’t quit cold turkey because you need alcohol to live, it would be so hard to just drink in moderation
I don’t think he wants sympathy but the rest of this might be true. I want to lose a bit of weight, I’m not visibly overweight, but even the 5 pounds I want to loose I am finding difficult. I think I’m addicted to the types of food I eat (and quantities) so ethans complaints seem just genuine to me… I get what he’s saying. I also know that him and I need to suck it up and do it.

the mock meats can be way healthier, but you have to make sure you are eating a variety of veggies with every meal (not just some mock meat and potatos) and i think the issue you all had was the food was cold when you ate it, vegan cheese usually is way better when its warm and because most of them have coconut oil in them, they go back to a solid at room temp. Which can explain the cummy texture, they often use potato starch/coconut oil to make it really good at melting and stretching. So next time have it warm, it will be totally different.

Hey, I am so happy that you found a plant-based diet, with all the science that we have it currently shows the overwhelming fact of being the healthiest diet for humans if done correctly. Some tips that help me thrive as a vegan are these, of course, you don't need to just take my word for it. DO MORE RESEARCH yourself!!!!! 1- Eat a high amount of fruit- don't be scared of fruit or the sugar it contains. Fruit is one of the most health-promoting food to put into our bodies. Don't go on a raw fruitarian diet or anything because the benefits that we can get from cook plant-based food are just as amazing. 2-Eat 2 tablespoons of chia seeds, hemp seeds, or flaxseed daily for omega-3 3-DON'T BE SCARED OF CARBS! The overwhelming amount of research says eating a high-carb vegan diet is the best for health in humans. and when it comes to fats eating them later in the day has work best for me but be free to experiment with yourself. BUT just remember that eating the whole plant food for fat(such as nuts, seeds, and avocado) is best and yes oil is NOT healthy. Even olive oil. 4-Take a B3 supplement, the reason animal products are high in B3 is that they are supplement with it too! So when you remove those animal products from your diet it is best to supplement to prevent deficiencies. 5-Lastly eat a range of whole plant foods without restriction. Why would you ever restrict the most health-promoting foods, such as fruit, veg, whole grains, nuts, seeds, and spices Hope these help!!!!!!
ETHAN. Bring vegan won't make you lose weight. Discipline yourself, workout, and get on a diet. Don't give up when you don't lose your weight in a month, it's something that'll take years. Please watch people like Greg Doucette and get recipes from there.
