Just made these with my 4 year old son. We didn't add the veggies to the base because I wanted more of a traditional pizza dough. Did 2 cups of water and sifted in 2 1/4 c besan. Added 2 teaspoons of ground cumin and salt. We wanted them to rise so we added 1 T baking powder. Let the batter rest and thicken while we made our sauce and toppings. Poured about a cup of batter onto the non stick pan (nonstick is ESSENTIAL when working with this flour) and before flipping it we sprinkled cornmeal and a bit more salt onto the uncooked side. It really made it seem a lot more like a pizza! Thanks for the inspiration. Can't wait to make them again!
This tasted better than most Pizzas i did tbh. I used some Mushrooms, Bellpeppers and Onion as Topping. Was really delicious! I had no Black Nigella Seeds on hand, so i threw some Chia Seeds and some Sesame in. Quick hint: Don't be too shy with the Coconut Oil, it will stick to the pan. Really good Recipe and an amazing Idea!!!
Made this for the family the week ye all posted it. Was a huge hit. Thanks a million, hadn't had pizza since had to go GF 👏🏻👏🏻 You make my food life so much easier.
Definitely making this recipe, love all the videos with the three of you, looking forward for more. Thank you, you are always making my eating life much easier, creative and tastier. Beautiful recipe as always!
I LOVE Indian food. Wish you were my neighbor. Haha. We actually have a very good Indian Restaurant about 3 blocks away, I was just there a few nights ago.
The Happy Pear Ya exactly. BTW there are lots and lots of vegetarians in India . You will get lot of recipes from it. I have started my own channel of vegetarian recipes . Please do visit. It's called fusion fry .
OK ignore what I said below. I have just made this. I no longer "think" it is the base I have been looking for, I KNOW it is. Delish and filling. Do you need to make fresh every day or do they last in the fridge for a bit? Even my "I hate vegetables" son liked it. I live you guys, I use your cook book most weeks but this one here is a life changed for me. Thank you.
Delicious healthy comforting food! Great Video Guys :D It was a great treat to meet you guys at Greystones before Christmas :D Thanks again for all the love and I cant wait to see what you have in store for 2018!!! Best wishes!!
Happy Pears!!!! Please please please can you make an eggplant series? I’m dying for some eggplant dishes but need something simple. Would be so grateful!
Very late. But you could try this simple recipe. Take a big purple eggplant cut into mediym thickness roundels add salt, pinch of sugar, turmeric, paprika and 1/2 tsp of plain flour. Rub this mixture all over the eggplant pieces. Cover and let it rest for 5-8 minutes. The eggplant roundels will have become soft as they would have leached their water. Squeeze them lightly to get rid of excess water and shallow fry them in a pan till they are golden brown. They taste great with rice and lentil/ Dal mixture called khichri.
Happy new year Dudes!. I made the no bake gingerbread men for Christmas and it was so yum 👌 I miss pizza. I am so happy you dudes are doing no waste I love that.
The Happy Pear That would be awesome dudes! it is possible. I have been using newspapers as garbage bags instead of plastic since December, I have been using a bamboo tooth brush instead of a plastic one. I find I use too much paper towel and tissues. I have to look into using rags for cleanning and for tissues instead.
I actually do a similar one using flax flour, just cover the skillet after flipping the base and adding the cheese, it would melt and cook beautifully. Genuinely healthy and tasty.
I wonder if I could freeze the base or perhaps even the whole pizza. That way I could make a big batch and heat one in the oven whenever I feel like it. Would make some seriously healthy frozen pizza!
According to this the thin crust is vegan and the pizza sauce is vegan. www.dominos.com/en/pages/content/nutritional/allergen-info.jsp. Also BBQ sauce. spoonuniversity.com/lifestyle/5-vegan-domino-menu-items
I just looked up Dominos the other day to find out the options...also Aldi has just started a Vegan line of products ...I haven't had pizza in 5 months since going plant based and I'M SO READY
Pizza Hut's pan base is suitable for vegans. Also, worth trying Deliveroo as I have found places that produce vegan pizzas such as Zizzi and ASK. There are more places opening so it's getting better for us :-)
What a great idea! And without nuts or soy, woohoo :D Trying this tomorrow Edit: I just realise that this could actually be a great way to replace the egg I needed for zucchini fritters. If I make it a bit thicker it could work :o
Thank you. I have made great pizza for year every Friday but I wanted to get away from white flour as a base. This looks amazing and I think exactly what I have been looking for as a base.
Hi guys, I tried this recipe and although the outcome was tasty.... my puddas stuck to the pan? how can I avoid this next time. I ended up just mashing it all together to make a base-ish and then put it in the oven. would love some advice?
yeah! but maybe not enough, our pan it old so maybe its an excuse to buy a newer pan/ non stick one, I don't know. Maybe I used the wrong type of coconut oil? if thats even possible ahah Still tasted fab just a side of stress and disappointment ahahah XX
If you google pooda similar recipes come up. One of them - healthyeatsforall.com/2014/07/31/chickpea-flour-savory-pancakes-besan-pooda/ . Hope that helps. At around 5:44 in the video one of them asks how much flour she used at the beginning (hard to hear it) and the other looks at book and says 120g/1 cup. Water wise she didn’t add more than a cup. Need to go easy and copy her consistency
Ana Luisa Lima Makes 2 FOR THE BASES 120g (1 cup) gram flour ½ tsp cumin seeds or ground cumin, or more to taste ½ tsp sea salt pinch of asafoetida (optional) 1 tsp nigella seeds (optional) 1 tsp Dosha Chuma Spice Mix (see here; optional) 175ml (¾ cup) water 115g (1 cup) shredded courgette, carrot or cucumber 1 tbsp coriander, finely chopped 6 tsp melted coconut oil or ghee rocket and ricotta, to serve FOR THE SAUCE 6 plum tomatoes, skinned and deseeded (see here) 3-4 garlic cloves, roughly chopped 1 tsp balsamic vinegar, plus more to taste 4 tsp sea salt freshly ground black pepper 3 tsp extra-virgin olive oil FOR THE BASIL OLIVE OIL leaves of 1 small bunch of basil (about 30g) 75ml (⅓cup) extra-virgin olive oil pinch of sea salt.
Gonna try this because I have a bag of chickpea flour I don't really know what to do with. I used to cook vegan quiche with it but the taste of chickpeas ruins it, so I stopped using it.
Hey guys I am trying to organize (from Australia) delivery of your beautiful hamper to family in Wicklow but it's not accepting the card payment and no one responded on the email my husband send .. Can you please help?
i just use olive oil, because in the end you have to decide what you like and how much you'll use and what you can afford, but that's for each to decide themselves
Food wise, I couldn’t tell you. But it’s a fantastic antibacterial to clear up skin irritations, and it can also help strengthen your hair follicles if you massage it into the roots.

I'm a bit confused as to why you are so passionate about WFPB but promoting a book that is about meat and goes against most vegan ethics. I really hope that you can tell me my confusion is unfounded. Love your work!
The Happy Pear chickpea belongs to family of legumes and gram belongs to family of pulses. Chickpea is white while gram when roasted gives yellow colour of which flour is made( it is called besan in india). By the way your recipe is awesome😇
Those two dominate the setup so much. They just took stuff out of her hands and talked over her so much 😂 great recipe, but let your guest have a little more control!
You're seriously promoting a non vegan/vegetarian book? I liked the recipe, since I’d never heard of this, Di thanks… but 👎🏼 for printing the book here…
Cups & mugs?! Not really, thanks ;) Those times of pioneers going westward are over. A cup ≠ B cup. Fortunately in the book, all recipes are given in metric. Bless her heart :D
Would have preferred this video without that woman's book being promoted in the corner. I come here for the plant based recipes, not to be sold a book of slaughtered animal recipes.
But I guess they think they can't be successful on RU-vid without being SUPEREXCITEMENTALWAYS100%WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! And the sad thing is, they might actually be right.
