Surprised to see you use a processed food with the cheeze, Will!! Never seen you do that! Looks good. I will try this. Glad you made mention of gf oats too.
✨UPDATE✨ Came back to let everyone know that I tried this recipe today and it was FABULOUS!!! I'm shocked at how delicious it was. I added some poultry seasoning 😜 It reallly does taste meaty. No more frozen vegan burgers for me.
Greetings from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 I’ve been a vegan for 13 years and I just found you today. God knows I needed new encouragement to keep going after turning 70 years old recently. I’m very thankful for my health and wish everyone would eat healthy. You definitely are an inspiration! Thank you and God bless you!
@@nikola_korneta Sorry to be picky but the commenter said, vegan for 13 years. I loved the comment myself because vegan about the same amount of time and 68 so playing catch up. I also liked what Rich Roll, vegan ultra marathon everything, said; if you are doing something strictly for your health, the likelihood of sticking to it inevitably diminishes". He of course was talking about ethics and I do concur with that point of view. All the best just found this recipe love the channel.😊😊
I finally made these and they remind me of a divine vegan burger I had at a local restaurant. So easy, pantry friendly (if you have canned beets on hand) and fairly quick. I added a teaspoon of xanthan gum, let them firm up in the fridge overnight and they were pretty easy to shape. They were delicious and my Fred Flintstone, bronto-burger eating bf even said they smelled good while cooking. Glad I made a large batch!
Actually i can rephrase it in a better way, you are walking into a calm jungle and you see a magical path which leads you to the secret burger of the heavens !
This burger is Delish!!! I did substitute the corn and green pepper for just more mushrooms and carrots, but it turned out so good and I put more portobello mushrooms with the Violife cheese and gluten/wheat free bread served with some parsnip fries!!!👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 I cooked 3 and froze 3!
Made these tonight and they were the best veggie burgers I've ever made! The beet adds so much moisture & gives the burgers a perfect color. I pulsed & blended for under 10 seconds, keeping the mixture a little chunky. I skipped the oil & cooked on the parchment paper pieces in my dry stainless steel skillet. They were well formed, stayed together while cooking, flipped easily, and held up while eating. That is rare for a homemade veggie burger! The shiitakes & wasabi mayo were the perfect finishing touch! Looking forward to trying more of your mouth watering recipes (that I binge watch daily) 💕
I made these!! They were fantastic. Made them exactly as the recipe except made a vegan "Big Mac" sauce instead of the wasabi mayo. Made a double batch which took 2 hours (with a friend). Well worth the effort!
I was looking for a mushroom black bean burger recipe when this video posted! I will try this recipe tonight. Thanks again to Wil for all of your unintimidating 🌿plant based recipes; I make several of your recipes weekly. Warmest wishes, Reilly 🍀
These are amazing. I am going to be making my 4th batch in the past 6 months. I have my husband, my mom, my best friend, & her 6 yo son hooked! My husband (not vegan or GF) & I absolutely love all of your recipes I've made so far since finding you last year! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
I've gotta say, Wil. Your recipes are just delightful. The presentation and instructions are so easy to follow. Your voice is very soothing and reassuring, too. Its so soothing I wouldn't be surprised if you narrated children's stories 😇
This is why I came to the comments! I want to make a batch to freeze but didn't know if it would work, or if I could freeze raw or cook first. Thanks guys!!
Miyokos Cheese wheels are amazing soft cheeses. They have a pepper jack slice that is really good too. I'm a fan of Violife as well. Was really the first non homemade vegan cheese I liked.
Cant wait to try this. Been vegan/plant based on and off for 2 years now. I only go to processed foods and cheese because im bad at meal prep and have to buy something cheap and filling from the gas station on my breaks. But channels like this have made it really fun and exciting to cook vegan meals and i can make extra and bring for my lunch breaks. No more giving in to pringles, cheetos, protein bars and cheese.
Invest in good tools!! Especially a good knife! There's nothing worse in cooking than struggling with your tools, or a lack of them. For me, it turned cooking from a chore to a fun activity. Have a good one!
@@POWned911 yes cooking has become a lot of fun. Especially watching these types of videos give me a base to work off and can experiment with other ingredients i like.
Thanks for expanding beyond Asian. Thank you thank you thank you. It is because of you that I cook with confidence. Clean and concise narration . What a relief from all the overwhelming drama out there🌼
Tried this last night. Flavour really good, texture too blended for my liking. Next time I’m going to leave all ingredients more chopped. Love your channel and think it’s one of the best cooking channels
I'm with you on the blended thing. So i blend up the the veggie and spice mixture then add that to a separate bowl of lightly blended oats and the beans (rinsed and slightly air dried). Mashed the bean mixture with a fork till your at your desired texture and refrigerate 4 hours or overnight. Very tasty.....
i love this channel, love de aesthetic, the music, the "now you can do this with absolute confidence" at the end, THE ABSOLUTE ORDER IN THIS MAN PANTRY, anyway, i realy like this channel
I’m drooling 🤤 Consider yourself lucky we’re not neighbors or you’ll be hearing “watcha cookin ?” every single day by an uninvited guest..😂 I’ll add this to my to-do list, looks so freakin good..✨
I’m from New Delhi, India and I tried these patties just now. They’re sumptuous. My family loves these burgers. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe. Hope you continue to prosper. God bless. Namaste 🙏
I tried making these today, they looked great and firmed up nicely. I cooked them just like you said but they tasted raw and soggy on the inside. More research has said to let them sit overnight in the fridge and cook them for much longer. I'll try that for next time.
@@CookandtravelwithDenisa Mine was too! A zillion times better. The beet and veggies give it fruity flavors that you just don't get in store-bought vegan patties. And beet gives the batter a bright pink hue that is also absent in the industrial patties. Now I need to find out to make them fry up less mushy on the inside.
@@davidcoxinparis that’s right. Please check my recipe, baked in oven are just perfect! We were very satisfied with their consistency. I planed it to fry the patties next time, as I wanted to check if there is any difference in consistency 🙋🏻♀️
I made these burgers this morning.. And I must admit that out of all the veggie burgers I've ever had in my Life, I actually loved this recipe the Best! I love the way that the burger firms up & holds together! I ate one for lunch & freezed the other 6 patties... I really Love these burgers.. Thank You!!
Lay Ho Ma!. So...after watching Your vids for quite a long time a finally decided to log in and leave a comment (which is something I don't usually do) I believe that this is THE BEST vegan cooking channel atm. Everything You do is absolutely perfect. Music, editing, soothing voice, light and (obviously) genius, tasty and easy to make recipes. You Sir deserve more attention! Can not thank You enough friend! Much respect and love!
Oh man! I can hardly wait to try this! So excited! Thank you for sharing this. I wonder if you might ever do a series of some of these AMAZING recipes of yours as oil-free versions? I would LOVE to see that. I have looked at your play lists already and you don't have any there so I thought I might ask for a playlist on oil-free recipes. I am going to start going through ALL of your videos and see what other wonderful recipes you have. I hope I come across some American-Chinese food favorites there too, like a vegan version of pork spare ribs, spring rolls, beef and broccoli, vegetable chop suey (not as well know and most places think I am asking for chow or lo mein). Thank you, Lee
Thank you so much you absolute LEGEND. I have looked at about 50 tutorials and yours is the only one without processed products that I don’t want to use or don’t have access to. This is a genuine achievement and deserves SO many more views. Thank you man. Flipping life saver.
Excited to make this tomorrow, thank you! You greatly improve the quality of our lives by giving us healthy delicious recipes, and creating a calm peaceful atmosphere also
Made these burgers today and while it is hard to beat the recipe, I will add some tips. Before making these, I went through almost every comment to understand where things were going wrong. For most people, the patties were too mushy. Here goes my recipe and you won’t have the same issue: 1. You have to make sure ingredients are not too soggy to begin with. So sauté the diced onions, bell pepper, garlic to release their moisture for 10 minutes or so. Avoid the garlic/onion powders - they have no flavor. 2. Beans and mushrooms likewise should be dried by baking at 375F and 15 minutes 3. I pulsed 2 cups of rolled oats and about half cup of toasted cashew nuts very gently for texture. Important to check the coarseness every time you pulse so it does not become fine grained. 4. Now just follow the recipe to make the patty dough. I added a table sooon smoked chipotle barbecue sauce for flavor. With this approach, your dough will be just dry enough to build the patties. 5. Since the patties are dry enough, you can start right away to cook the patties. Once again I baked at 375F for 15 minutes for perfect pattie’s out of the oven. Now you can follow the rest of the recipe to melt the cheese and build your burger. When you melt the cheese, sprinkle some water on the sides and then close the lid. Cheese melts faster and the pattie’s get a bit moist which is a good thing. Thank you Yeung for creating a great recipe.
I love watching your videos. Your voice timbre and the inflection within your voice is so calming. You give us confidence that we can do what you are showing. Thank you. God bless you.
One of the best and beautiful cooking videos I have ever watched in my entire life. Man, the music, your narration, cinematography and the recipe. Damn! 🔥🔥
I hope the extra patties froze well for later. I love having patties in the freezer for when I just want a burger, some caramelized onions and melty Violife cheese. Thanks for the recipe!
Great recipe Wil! I'm amazed you made it work gluten free! I'd like to share my findings with you all, since I've been experimenting with burger recipes for over an year: you can freeze them and they will keep the freshness for a month! Add fresh herbs, like rosemary, basil or oregano. If you like them with a crunch, blend the ingredients to the size you like, and add some gluten or wheat flour. Beans, beets, mushrooms and corn are great, just like Wil showed us, and I tried [lentils + peas + carrots + spinach], [peas + chickpeas + carrots + broccoli leaves], also, quinoa and roasted sesame seeds taste great with chickpeas and green peas! To make the bun, look for the dough the Italians use to make pizza in Napoli (wheat, yeast, salt, water, olive oil). Their secret is the long fermentation. Happy cooking, and stay strong my friends!!
Living in Louisiana, which has become an epicenter of weather-related outages, some prolonged, the last two years, I now avoid freezing things. I'll try dehydrating and vacuum bagging and see how long they last. Otherwise, I only make what I need in the moment.
First veggie burger I made that didn’t fall apart. It was delicious. I substituted carrot for corn because corn and I don’t get along. Delicious , thanks!
I loved the colour of this burger. I will double the spices next time though, and maybe I'll try using chickpeas instead of beans to get a firmer consistency.
OMG perfect timing I can’t wait to try this. I just started reintroducing mushrooms and root vegetables so this will be my celebratory meal for that. On another note I NEED that pantry 😭
I made these this evening and they taste very nice, in fact I’d say one of the best veggie burgers I’ve taste. However, I didn’t like the texture. I think next time I’ll leave out 1/2 of the black beans, blend and then add the them. Although the shaping went well and was easy, I’m wondering if chilling the mix for 30 mins or so would make it even easier. In any case… thanks for sharing this recipe!!
Seriously that cabinet is just beyond amazing. I would love to do that but it is just my husband and I and I keep smaller amounts of spices, although I have so many. I agree he should do a pantry tour giving links of his containers, spices and how to organize. 😎
that dramatic & calm music though :D loved this recipe, will try this in the future. only thing missing the video was a shot of the burger cut i half, would have love a middle shot
I’ve been following this channel for while. I’ve been wanting to make my own plant based burger and this looks incredible. I might just convert a few omnivores into plant based eaters
I am on vacation in a warm climate but can’t wait to get back home to the ice and snow just so I can cook these colorful, healthy, mouth watering and relaxingly presented recipes. Glad you could be on vacation with us Wil!
Hello Wil! Thank you for this PERFECT meatless burger!!! We love that all the ingredients are so available! We substituted canned beets (not pickled) and the patties were still a perfect consistency. It was " super-easy to make and absolutely delicious!" We LOVE them and can't stop talking about how wonderful they are.
it's delicious, I add a bit of soy sauce, no corn, and substitute green bell pepper for red. HOWEVER, they're incredibly wet and sticky. Like the flavour is amazing but I gotta laugh at the "it doesn't fall apart at all" part of the video because something in mine make them not be anywhere as solid!!
Unfortunately I have to agree as well, after trying beyond beef felt very unnatural and was heavy in my digestive system, these burgers look great, I am going to try them soon
@@kat_m7073 Yeah makes sense. Because your digestive system hasn't seen meat in a long while, the bacteria that digests meat is almost non existent. Hence when you ate a meat substitute that's very close to meat it had a hard time.
This looks amazing! My significant other went vegan a few months ago and I've been learning new recipes to support his lifestyle. Quick question: Can this patty be grilled on a charcoal grill?
My sister asked me what I want for my birthday which will be coming up. I said nothing as I have everything I need, but am going to ask for a food processor so that I can make these. I'm so hungry now 😋
What a meditative session!! I'm hooked this channel. Very healthy..but was wondering the patty should have been little firm to handle...will surely try.Love from India
Love your cooking channel! Just found in today! I have hard time hearing so your written down recipes really helps! Thank you and can't wait to make this one!! 😍😍😍👍
This is one of the best recipes ever. I have made it so many times on demand by my family and friends. Commendable chef. Thank you so much for this recipe. Love Aditi from New Delhi, India
I really appreciate you making a burger as whole food plant based and getting away from the processed vegan ground meat in the market. This burger looks super delicious, I want to make it soon for my family
I made this last night, following the recipe as instructed. I normally like paprika and felt here it overpowered all other flavors. Aside from the heavy paprika, mine turned out bland...it needed something. Fresh garlic and/or herbs? What I like about this recipe is how easy it was to make. The burger is filling and satisfying. It has a firmer texture than other recipes I've tried. I will be making this again because it has the ideal bones for a veggie burger I want to eat, and is customizable to one's tastes. Thank you for sharing this recipe, and I very much appreciate your straight-to-the-point presentation.
I am not vegan and most vegan food looks very unappealing to me, but these recipes look so flavorful and delicious that I can’t wait to try a bunch of them. I’m so glad I found this inspiring channel to expand my culinary horizons.
Just made these and they were delicious! I didn't have quite enough of the black beans so added some black rice. I had a little corn salsa leftover so threw it in for the corn. The burgers were sticky trying to form them but I wet my hands a little with water enough to get them into the pan. First time I've had a veggie burger that didn't fall apart when we ate it! Thanks for sharing!!
I have been experimenting with bean/veggie burger recipes since deciding to cut out as many "ultra processed" ingredients as possible from our diet - sadly most packaged vegan burgers are full of rubbish... The veggies in these burgers sound really good, I'll definitely give this recipe a try! 😊 Thanks, Wil 🙏
These are the best burgers I have ever had! The recipe is easy; the ingredients are healthy; the burgers are still good days later. Thanks so much for sharing this one!
Oh my gosh another great idea that mushroom burger sounds so wonderful I will definitely have to give this one a try. I love mushrooms and I love your channel you come up with so many great wonderful meals and they all sound wonderful and I’m going to have to buy your cookbooksafter the holidays when I have a little extra money because you cook and make everything sound so wonderful and I think most of these meals I could prepare very easily. Thanks so much my dear friend.
I absolutely admire how clean your stove top is. Nothing makes me happier, than to cook on a stove that is clean from the inside out. I'm a fairy new sub, but absolutely love watching you cook.
I sometimes make "spaghetti and BEET sauce" and we had a ton of leftover mashed & seasoned beet that I was tired of eating on top of noodles. I searched Wil's channel for "beet". And we made these AMAZING burgers. Thank you, Wil. I haven't swooned over my food like this in a while. Ugh. So good!
