The adult Scooby-Doo carton, Velma, is now the lowest rated cartoon of all time on IMDb. Everyone online has been ranting about Velma because it doesn't use the Scooby-Doo formula or characters faithfully. As bad as the show is, do these ratings and rants mean anything for the future of the show? Will Velma get a Season 2?
Velma is the first official jump to an adult audience for the Scooby-Doo franchise. While Scooby-Doo Mystery Incorporated dipped its toes into a more mature sense of storytelling, Velma is your standard adult comedy that doesn't do much to stand out from its competition. Despite this critical failure from the HBO Max Velma cartoon, it's still doing well on the streaming service in views.
