Ven. Robina Courtin: When the Chocolate Runs Out

We love chocolate. Perhaps so much so that on some level we may believe, "As long as I have chocolate, I'll be happy." This is the power of attachment at work. And based on this attachment, we create a chocolate-based philosophy and order our life prioritizing chocolate.
But sometimes, we can't get our hands on any chocolate. And when the chocolate disappears, we get nervous, upset: "Oh no! Now I'm unhappy!" But of course it's not the absence of chocolate that's making us unhappy; it's our fixed ideas, and our misunderstanding the nature of chocolate.
- Lama Thubten Yeshe: When the Chocolate Runs Out, Wisdom Publications, 2011.

I love how when she gets tired during talks, she asks about going home and lunch so much. Lol, it's sweet to me❤...the talk was also very good. The end was really something to me. You can really see her compassion for all of us.

I don't understand this part. It looks like she's saying mind and consciousness/awareness are same. But how can my awareness watch my mind if they are same one single thing? Please correct me if I got anything wrong.

H. Kim ...You got it right. Robina is very clear which is why i listen to her. Buddhism says mind and Consciousness are one. Im still struggling with this a bit myself.

Definition of awareness: Awareness is the ability to directly know and perceive, to feel, or to be cognizant of events. More broadly, it is the state of being conscious of something. Another definition describes it as a state wherein a subject is aware of some information when that information is directly available to bring to bear in the direction of a wide range of behavioral actions. The concept is often synonymous to consciousness and is also understood as being consciousness itself. I suggest you think about the question you are asking. It is very confused.

It means your mind is awareness. You don't watch awareness.
