Spend a few days with Taylor exploring Melaka, Malaysia, the Venice of Asia! Link to Hotel Review: • Best Hotel In Melaka?!... Questions? Email me at: Taylorboz96@gmail.com
Hi Taylor, just found your earlier video on Melaka and what an interesting place it is! We're in Malaysia right now with a month to spare after KL and Penang. Guess Melaka has found an extra long weekend during our free month in Malaysia! Thanks so much for all the hard work you put into bringing us your videos. Love them all.
Hi Taylor. Currently in Melaka right now and staying for a month. Thanks for the video and your recommendations for the river cruise which I will do at some point. Good on you for splurging on the phone. The shots outside of your house are where you can see the most obvious improvement from the old phone. Will check out that beautiful cafe too.
Nice video. Reminds me of when my partner drove me down to Melaka from KL for a day trip a few years ago. We had a lovely time in the old town area and ate lunch with iced Malaysian style coffee, needed after the nearly 40 degree celcius temperature that day! 😊
excellent vlog on my birthplace city, brought back alot of memories. Malacca definitely has so much to offer and has the most European feel about it than anywhere else. In its day itwas a bustling port and world famous, so much history, so many stories and legends. Next time u go, please go to St Paul’s Hill where a saint was actually buried there but his bodywas exhumed later. The view there is spectacular. Thank you Taylor, glad u had a good time in ‘Sleepy Hollow’ ❤
Well, it is the oldest state in Malaysia and half of the duration of colonialism in the Malayan Peninsula is present in Malacca. They even have a tiny Portuguese community!
Malacca looks historical and without too much hustle and bustle. PS might I suggest a high quality SPF 30-50. The good ones usually moisturise as well. I live in Sydney and don’t leave home without wearing it.
You used the pretty filter! great video Andrew. Keep them coming. Have fun with the new phone. x It's nice to hear Earl Grey in the background demanding attention
I don’t think I used any filters, unless by accident. 😂 I honestly think Earl Grey thinks I’m talking to him when I’m making videos. I mean there isn’t anyone else around so he thinks I’m talking to him and he’s just responding. 😂😂😂
Seriously Andrew your videos are such a joy to watch. With all the stress of day to day life it is great to have stumbled on a place on the internet that has charming authentic content. If you are ever wanting to visit Scotland I am a great tour guide of the Highlands and Glasgow/Edinburgh.
Andrew again thank you, I am looking forward to returning to Malaysia. When I was there I met some fantastic people. They took me to so many interesting places. I was on vacation and along but it was a wonderful trip. Your video’s bring back some lovely memories. Hope to see you there once I return.
Regardless of the phone you use, whether it is new or old, your vlogs always have interesting details to share. It makes me want to go back to Melaka; well done, Mr. Taylor.
Hi Taylor! I'm a Malaysian in the US right now and I love your videos! But I was wondering, do you not like Malaysian food? I see that you rarely ever talk about the local cuisine (other than the Roti Canai), which is what Malaysia is known for. Perhaps I just miss the local food and I want to live vicariously through you but it seems a little bit of a shame that you went to one of the great food cities in terms of Malaysian food but didn't talk about any of the local dishes P.s I found the Maggi goreng video very amusing! if I had to guess, there was something unique about a westerner cooking something so endemic to Malaysia (as opposed to cooking Mac and Cheese) and that bumped up the view count
I’m sure you are right! Thanks. I’ll try to include more Malaysian dishes. I know I should have had some Nyonya cuisine while I was there. I do love it and had it lots in Penang. I love Nyonya chicken curry. I have to admit that I gravitate to western food though. 😊
Hi there, Andrew. I have been watching few of your videos lately, and I love them all. Especially this episode, because I am from Melaka myself. You have shown me something I have never known before. Like the hotel has a roof top swimming pool and some of the restaurants I have never been to. You see, whenever I went back to Melaka (I'm working in KL), I would stay at home and I seldom visit these tourist-packed places. So, your video really opens my eyes. By the way, just a correction, that Geography cafe you went to, is actually named Geographer Cafe (if I'm not mistaken). Anyway, I am really glad I stumbled upon your channel a while ago. Thank you.
@@andrewtaylor4558 By the way, your video quality is fantastic. I agree that iPhone has one of the best camera & video system. However, even without this new phone of yours, I still enjoy your videos a lot, Andrew! Looking forward to more beautiful videos from you.
Taming Sari is the name of the kris wielded by Hang Tuah. Do drop by Sin Hiap Hin for another insight into Malacca's history next time. It's a day bar operated by a friendly old lady in an old-school bar serving the British since the colonial time (with the shop being more than 100 years old). It serves a variety of local liquors.
Hi Taylor. Many thanks 4 pleasant & enjoyable adventure, especially the unique atmosphere of the Baboon House restaurant located in a Peranakan shophouse. Love old colonial towns.P.S. Are you only making videos with iPhone?
Woww so Beautiful.. Malacca lovely Malaysia.. So surprised see my Beautiful country.. Tylor is not nonia.. Nyonya.. Hehe.. Taming sari is not taming siri.. The cruise so Lovely.. You really explored.. The hotel like.. So lovely.. Thanks for your vedeo.. Lovely trips.. I always go there when my daughter was in medical School.
Love your videos, Taylor! Great job on this one. To echo the commenter below, I would love to watch you cook more Malaysian recipes. I'm also curious about day-to-day life and access to information and products. Is it easy to find the same types of books in Malaysia that you would find in a U.S. bookstore? Can you order things from Amazon and the selection of books/beauty products/vitamins, etc. are similar to what we have in the U.S.? Can you stream the same shows and movies via Netflix and other major streaming services? Or is the content different and more tailored to the region? When you're on the Internet, are a lot of websites blocked or censored relative to other places? Are there favorite e-commerce brands or companies you can no longer order from because they won't ship to Malaysia?
@@azizi8921 A snippet of a struggle of a small-bit parochial man, coloured by the director's biases, is hardly instructive of a country's long history. Unless, of course, for some an-hour-and-a-half 'history' lesson is all that they can take. 🤦♂️
You can see image quality and sound is greatly improved with your new iPhone 14 over your old 8. Just make sure you switch off “sharing analytics” in your settings otherwise Apple will track everything you do. I can’t say I overly like my iPhone 12 Pro. I wish I had bought an Android phone instead tbh. I just can’t get on with some of Apples ways of doing things eg only storing the last 100 calls in its phone app.
Re: new iphone - picture looks similar - colors seemed a bit brighter when you were taking pictures in Melaka. Sound is improved - better bass and clearer.
There's something about your videos and the way you talk makes it so calming. So, i guess even in malaysia you pay a "foreigners tax"? Is there any way to circumvent that without outright arguing with the people?
