I was there in 1996, we had 3 days with rain on this festival, totally soaked drunk and tired, then on the last day Venom played, I thought i was in hell, This show is stil in my top 3 of most impressive shows i've ever seen
Musically, this is the og. trio's best musical phase; they returned to prove they could improve and they did. Cast in Stone, though not a typical oldschool 1stWave BM album, is menacingly heavy, maybe the heaviest and most well crafted by the originators.
I was there I flew in from New Orleans to see them.reunite. they we're incredible!!! During buried alive all of us were jumping up and down and I vividly remember the backdrop flying up in the air because the heat from the Pyro's during Countess Bathory landing on top of the drummer abaddon and all the Roadies was scrambling to get that off of his head. It was an awesome show and I will always have a great story to tell that I was there!!!
Did you paint the sky green with that massive laser during Bjork's Hyperbalad? - I wasn't really sure if I was seeing things or if it really happened..... for the same reasons as I stated 5 years ago :P
Same same. That laser pentagram over the crowd, the drum platform, the fireworks. what a great fuckin show. Still pissed that they didn't play anything from At War With Satan, though
yes of course he's mantas how can you don't recognize him ? the face the moves the voice he's fucking mantas!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm a venom freak!!! for more than 30 years
ALL HAIL THE GOD FATHER OF BLACK METAL: VENOM!!!!! thanks for posting. Still have the welcome to hell, nightmare and black metal on vinyl and cassette. been jamming to venom for 30 years.
20:13 You hear Cronos do a glissando yet you don't SEE him do it. And there's some more instances of this throughout. Some ovedubbing had been done, obviously. (@20:26 again)
what do you mean ? you dont know me, Ive known Conrad for 33 years, Talk to him all the time, same with Lemmy, James Hetfield and King Diamond, Peter Steele before he died, I made that sticker at my friends house and send it to him...have a few more of those, been to Lemmys apt many times, and even drove him around before... you need to check before insulting people...
90.000 people is well over estimated. the biggest crowd Dynamo Open Air (D.O.A.) ever had was 70.000 in 1996. So it still might be the biggest crowd Venom ever played for but still it's 20.000 people short of what metalinvader88 says!
the biggest Dynamo-crowd was 120 to 140.000 in 1995. due to the traffic-chaos in 1995 the crowd was limited to 90.000 in 1996 and it was sold out...so that number might be true :)
***** , Yeah , but that was over a 3 day period NOT all in one day! By the way there is a BIG difference between the Dutch Wiki on DOA and the English version. nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dynamo_Open_Air (dutch version)! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dynamo_Open_Air (English version)!
The official and actual numbers differ. Because they wheren't allowef to have so many and there where a lot of people going to the area that had no ticket.
i also was there this was my 3rd time at the d.o.a festival i still remember the lot,s of rain that was coming down during those 3 days of mayhem the mud,the stench the lots of beer ha haha ... but wow what a great fucking show i remember these good old days.. they are in my memory buried forever

I can still smell the people, the soil, the rain, the beer, the pros and the weed of that evening. 'Venom' was a myth to most of the people and you could spot that many had real troubles figuring out what the fuck was going on on stage that night. 😂 Legends at work.
Venom has been near the top of my all time favorites since I got my copy of Welcome to Hell on VINYL back 81-82. They opened the gates for black metal as we all know that story. The one thing however I do NOT like is venom posing for Glam Metal type pics! Cronos stated they take everything and mix it together and thats Venom. Well Cronos PLEASE when mixing from now on make sure to dig around in the barrel removing any traces of Glam. Not very menacing looking like that. CF Cold Lake ring bell?
Having you hair washed isnt posing . Even cold lake image was trolling , it wasn't serious Its more joker for piss everybody . Anyway it amaze me how extreme metal fans became uncultured . Doing more 70's / 80's nwobhm type of riff within the grind of the band isnt doing glam . You guys needs to stop to label whatever the fuck different to the " Black metal tag " monolithic stuff as glam Back to basics and understand your thing then talk .
