Mattias Enn What a WONDERFUL video. An incredible selection of visuals that highlight so well Vera Lynn's marvelous lifetime of song. Snaphots of the history she made over decades with her signature music. You have truly added greatly to her historical record, which we have to hope and believe will live forever...along with her ballads. Tremendous Appreciation to you and Many, Many Thanks from this 81 y.o. in the U.S.
God bless you Dame Vera thank you for all the wonderful music that you supplied to my forbearers who fought in the war and always were kept going by your wonderful voice I have carried on listening to you and your music certainly has a pull on the heart is it takes you back to those times that we were very lucky to get through and all the men that will lost that would never come home both from America , Canada Australia New Zealand and our own British Isles and any others I might have forgotten but God bless you Dave vera on your 100 and 2nd birthday
What a wonderful song, popular at a time when the world was in more chaos than it is even now. Dame Vera Lynn was the voice of freedom and hope. I'm fairly certain my name was given to me by my mother because of the line in "White Cliffs of Dover"( I was born late in 1945 and my mother always called me Jimmie.)
I was born too late but I like their songs. I would say "epics" for the time and place in which they were heard. Hard times for humanity. Songs that contained the hope that one day everything would change and peace would return. From Lima Peru an affectionate hug to such a distinguished lady Vera Lynn on the occasion of her recent birthday.
A Avery happy birthday Dame Vera Lynn , you kept my father spirits up when he first heard you sing on the radio and he was under a truck as he was in the army and bombs were being dropped. From that day on he fell in love with you and always listened to you, I played we'll meet again at his funeral and it was so appropriate . Thank you for all the hope, love and warmth you brought so many during and after the war.

Most influential public figure of a generation, just as important as Churchill and a major pioneer in broadcasting..millions remember and appreciate what a blessing you were in sustaining morale in the war years.
One year later, Dame Vera Lynn, and another happy birthday. Your voice will forever be an inspiration to those who served during WW II. And also to the children who followed. Happy 102nd. Thank you for the music and the memories.
CHARLES TALBOT, are you still alive, I like to to thank you from my bottom of my heart for all the sacrifice you made. I wish you many healthy years to come, thanks you! God bless you sir!
Greetings from Russia from fans of the purest british english of legendary dame Vera Lynn and her magnificent lyric songs of pre-war, military and post-war time. I hope that political problems now between our countries are temporary, and art is eternal. I join the congratulations, I wish for Vera Lynn to live at least 100 years else till at least the 22nd century minimum and I want to say that her songs inspire for new musical and linguistic victories (for example, I studied the song "Lily Marlen" in English and in German, performed by Marlene Dietrich, this all is very beautiful and is still modern and interesting, maybe more modern yet). To author of the publication and to Sweden, too, I pass great greetings!
Oh this is just lovely. She’s just wonderful and she looks like my Mum why now has dementia but still can sing along to some of Vera’s songs. Thank you
only god knows that for how long we will all LIVE..XX may dame vera be blessed with a few more years still with good health/happiness..THE forces sweetheart ~xx
I had the great pleasure of sitting in between Dame Vera and her daughter Virginia at St James Palace! We got along like a house on fire, she spoke to my Mum on the phone who was born in Burma in 1942! I was a serving Red beret and she was a lady with a great sense of humor, she thought i was mad but loved it! This was around 2005, best bit, getting shouted for by a man when waiting for the coach to find the great lady wanted a Xmas kiss from me! Squaddies were stunned haha!

Oh! I just squealed to see Shirley Bassey in this! I was about to do a search on her. She's my all-time favourite singer and I haven't listened to her in a few months.
Vera Lynns daughter has a stepdaughter from her husband’s previous marriage and three children of their own which makes Vera Lynn a grandmother to three
She’s now 103 years old this year and her daughter is a very young 74 year old and they have a son in law with them his name is Tom Jones the retired Raf pilot
