Remembrance Day Nov 11: From a CBC Vancouver TV series, WW11 "Forces Sweetheart" VERA LYNN sings "Yours" and "Auf Wiederseh'n" which was #1 for 9 weeks from July 12 1952 on the US Billboard charts, the first British singer to do so, and the record 9 weeks at #1 stood for 16 years till the Beatles matched it in 1968 with "Hey Jude." Dame Vera Lynn turned 100 this year. She released the album "Vera Lynn 100" in 2017 to commemorate her centennial year. It was a # 3 hit in the UK, making her the oldest recording artist in the world and first centenarian performer to have an album in the charts!

Last year the BBC made a program with some of their shows, there is right here on youtube ‘Dame Vera Lynn at BBC’ Here on youtube there are some other videos, on my channel I have her singing country music in 1977 and another video from 1964. But the BBC has a lot of television programs that it recorded in the 60s, 70s and 80s. I think they could rebroadcast those programs. the ITV channel also has a lot of footage.
