Verizon is planning to use a 5G gateway in your neighborhood, and it's important to know if it will hold up. This 5G gateway is meant to provide faster internet, but is it really worth the switch? In this video, we'll take a look at Verizon's 5G gateway and see if it's worth the switch.
If you're thinking about switching to Verizon, be sure to watch this video to find out if it's worth it! We'll take a look at Verizon's 5G gateway and see if it's really that great. Let us know what you think in the comments below!
Looking to save money on home internet? Me too! This is Part ONE of my experience with the Verizon 5G Internet Gateway that costs $25 a month.
I am not sponsored by Xfinity or Verizon in anyway. Just a raw honest opinion.
Will it hold up to cable internet (mine is Xfinity Currently)? Will it save me money on my $280 a month Xfinity bill? I'm trying to find out and give you my honest opinion. I've done a side by side comparison using my Xfinity cable internet service VS the Verizon 5G Internet gateway.
Over 22 devices and over a far distance through the walls of my house will be tested for the next weeks to see if I can drop the high cost of cable internet. I'll be looking at reliability, customer service, and over all usabilty to see if I switch to Verizon for home internet.
Please subscribe and comment on this video so it will help me make the next parts and give my take on any questions you may have.

Got my Verizon wireless this past Saturday. I currently use Century Link. When Verizon was up and running. I did a speed test…cable vs Wi-Fi internet. The Verizon speed left Century Link in the dust. I’m very impressed with Verizon Wi-Fi. Will be canceling Century Link soon.

That’s good to hear. I’m trying my hardest to make sure that we can use Verizon 5G gateway and it’s not too big of a speed lag and we can get by. If I can use the 5G gateway from Verizon over the period of three years I will save $4140.

Nice video. I have T-Mobile home home Internet. I left Comcast back in June. I hope Verizon works out for you! The key benefits of leaving Comcast is that you will get a better price and the customer service will be much better. I personally believe that this is the future. In my town, I only had Verizon DSL or Comcast. Finally we got T-Mobile FWA (Fixed Wireless Access) and Version is not here yet. Verizon and T-Mobile are both working hard to deploy better 5G radios to get this new revenue stream.

Good stuff. Verizon will only get better once they get access to the N77 band. This is all dependent on how far you are to the macro site. I'm sure you probably already know this. I have a queston, while the price of Verizon is much cheaper than $255, but that $255 included your media content, you Home Pro Protection (not sure what that is), Can you provide an estimate that compare Verizon with all the services that you have with Xfinity. It will probably cheaper and it looks like you are getting better speed and connection to any point in your home.
@SoarAndMore
@SoarAndMore Год назад
Yes you are correct- the total $276 is for home security, internet ($90) and basic tv stations. Which I’m my opinion is getting crazy. So as a family we are looking to save money. So get rid of cable all together- and the home security service from my cable / internet provider. I will be installing ring home security soon and that is only 20$ a month. So if Verizon’s 5G gateway can handle all the devices and be cheaper- that’s what we will do. So changing From Xfinity to Verizon would drop our bill from $276 to $45. But we do use Verizon for cellular service. So our cellphone bill is a different story. But in all this will save us 230$ a month.

Verizon said it's available in my area. So, I decided to go with the standard 5G Home. When the gateway arrived, I search all over for a stable internet connection. @gnatman1102 Год назад
@John The Pilot I agree about the tech support and giving it a chance. Another frustrating thing is that my next-door neighbor has no issue connecting with the internet. However, I read that 5G Home being available at an address is different than actually getting a reliable 5G signal. For me, I think it's prioritization. I can sit in the same place in my home with my phone showing a strong 5G signal. However, it'll randomly switch to 4G LTE or nothing for stretches a time and then back to a strong 5G signal. Before signing up, I knew this and thought it was a signal issue. I asked a Verizon representative about this. They said the gateway should do better at receiving. However, I think I asked the wrong question.

Verizon throttles video streaming on its lte home internet. I think they limit you to 10mbps. So you can stream in 1080p, but not 4k. Ya that’s a big no go for me. All my neighbors have constant issues with them. I did as well when I had them. Thank you for the comment though.

@@SoarAndMore What were your issues?
@SoarAndMore
@SoarAndMore Год назад
@@rawniew continuous service interruption, really slow speeds, and the rep from AT&T came in and my brand new house and completely tore out my ethernet ports and did a horrible job installing them and it did not look clean whatsoever.

Unfortunately, I had a really bad experience and then when they installed fiber, all of my neighbors started having a lot of issues with service interruptions for days on end. And some of them work from home, so Internet is a vital part of their life.

@@SoarAndMore wow that's unusual. It's generally the best service option by far. Most businesses I have worked in will not go without fiber optic service. FWA and cable just doesn't hold up on uplink side. I would try it again in the future if I was you but don't let them use your wiring have a set spot for their ONT and router.

Yeah, I’m trying to figure out as well. They advertise that I will get 300 MB per second.

Only issue is I can’t get over 250… at first I could only get 220… then I chatted with Tech Support and somehow it went up to 250. Maybe you can try that?

@@Longshore79 I agree, if it doesn’t work I’d look for other options. Like AT&T is an option for me at my house, but the service in my area is terrible. So it’s a no go.

if this works for you, start streaming and tell Comcast to take a hike.

Amen on that one, so far issues are dealing with the distance the router can cover my house hold devices. I’m working on ideas to fix that… 25$ a month is hard to pass up.
