I wanna refinish my laundry room in the basement... it’s an old house so one of the walls is made of a type of stucco that’s crumbling...I think this is a great way to give it new life! Would love to do a white-ish color and another color for depth....BUT I gotta smooth the bulging... what do u suggest I do to prep the wall before applying the thickened epoxy?

Love the concept! Love your colors and accents. Right now, I personally don’t have a small nook like that. I would however use this technique in a foyer or a small bedroom wall. As always SCC Rocks the Epoxy World!

I like the idea of having a white layer on the bottom thin, then skipping around with the blue using the wall texture to make it like the sun changing the blue water because of the reflections in the ripples

Hi, i would like to ask. What if i want to coat my kitchen counters with epoxy, with vertical waterfall surface on both ends? Do i do the horizontal top first and come back later to do the waterfall edge or do i just do it all once by pouring epoxy on all surface incliding the waterfall edge?

Beautiful results! Didn't know you were also a spray paint artist Mike! Never stop surprising me! I do wonder how one would "reset" the wall after doing this if they either wanted to go back to a normal painted wall or if they wanted to redo the epoxy work. Would this complicate any sort of demo work on the wall as well?

Hola guys!!!!😃😃that is awesome to know you guys came up with the right product to enhance the walls...so now is not just countertops and floors now is walls... to create amazing accent walls...it looks amazing in my phone I’m going to have to watch it again but this time on the television I want to see the incredible finish... I love it... Would this technique work for shower walls? New construction, apply thickened epoxy directly to moisture (green or purple) board? I've seen your video using the styrofoam panels, but wondering if this technique would allow for more creativity in a shower?

That looks amazing, exactly what I've been looking for. Do you need any topcoat to aid towards the longevity of the surface... ? Will that stay like a 3D surface, or will it smoothen out when it dries...

Hi. I have a waterfall concrete kitchen island that i plan to coat with epoxy. How do i do the vertical waterfall sides of the countertop? Do i just pour it all in place one shot or should i do the top first and do the vertical sides later with cabosil?

love it. although i'd probably go with more of a black/green/copper palette, and i wonder if a sponge or crumpled newspaper/aluminum foil would give it a heavier patterned look?

Oh, Mike! Oh, Mike! I LOVE you! I've been puzzling how to epoxy tiled walls in my kitchen-have the prep figured out, just needed to know the epoxy wouldn't run off the wall! Now my goal is the epoxyed kitchen wall to as closely as possible approximate the appearance of the epoxyed kitchen countertop (that in my dream looks like Carerra marble or an anemic Hubble space photograph!)

Can you use that to texture the edge of table tops instead of the Epoxy or texture the whole table top and do a semi-deep pour for a smooth finish over the texture

you could! or you could also use bondo and do a semi-deep pour as well. i would test both ways see which you like better

Can you brush or roll a thin clear coat epoxy over that for the glass like effect? Or will it just drip?

Our Epoxy is designed to be poured on troweled out for a clear coat, the thickening powder does make the epoxy cloudy that is why we add a metallic for vertical application. Looks almost like a Monet mural painting on that wall...kudos...love you have that thickener which might be good to cover countertops that have a back wall lip that apoxy would normally run...ir even do existing shower walls, or backsplashes, etc....very nice! Love it!

Would this be a good alternative to put around my stove? Grease collects on the side wall next to the stove and I want something that I can wipe up with ease.

Hve you tried this straight on shower walls? Would you Red Guard the walls prior to using the epoxy? Going straight on concrete board, Thought to Redguard then prime or go straight on redguard???

Yes, You can clean with normal household countertop cleaners, but soap and water generally do the trick. Just try to stay away from very harsh chemicals such as bleach and ammonia. -Nathan

It could add a bit of gloss. You could make a panel and coat with SCC to get the high gloss glass like finish and install! You Got This

Great question! You will have to keep in mind the texture of the wall underneath your epoxy mixture because it will show through. Having a smooth surface underneath will help a ton! Also, the mixing ratio for epoxy + thickener can be adjusted to your preference. Where do you plan to recreate this project?

Great question. :) It is recommended to use a 1:1 ratio, but the mixing ratio can be adjusted to your preference. You just want to avoid the mixture running down your project. If anything, take a small part of the wall and try it out with desired tools and consistency. See how it turns out. Good luck my friend!

Mike I understand that this is an accent wall however I noticed that you didn't do a 2nd top coat of the clear epoxy over the top of it like was done in the cabins shower conversion. Is that because there was no reason for it to be sealed to make it waterproof? Also is this the same type of thickening agent that you used in the video where you show doing the vertical application of Stonecoat countertops products? I've been watching as many of y'alls videos as possible while I'm waiting for the items I've ordered to come in for my bathroom remodel that I've already completed the demo on. I've talked with Gil on your customer support line as well as Camille who had me send her the pictures of the vanity countertop via email that I'm trying to match the colors of as closely as possible with Stonecoat products.

You are correct! A topcoat was not necessary for this application. And yes, the thickening agent is the same one we use in our other vertical projects. Not related to this video... but two things. We are about to buy 70 sqft worth of epoxy from you guys for our kitchen. Question one - do you tape off backsplash? Or just pour the epoxy and let it touch the backsplash. If it matters the backsplash is subway tile not like rocks or anything. Thank you for mentioning working time. A couple years ago I used the thickener with Quick coat. Before I knew it, it started smoking and I had to scrape everything off. Wasted products and created a huge mess.

this one personally I didn't like, obviously you couldn't with the window, but I'm wondering if you could possibly do a big board on the ground, and then lift it into the spot with the right adhesive. kind of like done with the showers
