Working super fast will bring inaccuracies but it also brings originality and surprises. Theres no guarantee how it will pan out but working fast is what I'm all about.
Neil, it’s so helpful seeing how you work. I’m forever trying to loosen up and not mind the inaccuracies, in fact to welcome them. I’m getting there! I have hypermobility and I NEED to urban-sketch faster or I get a stiff neck/shoulders/back, so to see you working gives me a guide on how to manage. When you draw are you constantly comparing one shape to another? I.e. this roof line comes just above that one, that pavement line comes out this far etc? It’s a lot to keep in mind, all the perspective and proportions! Practice practice, I know. Thank you for your generous sharing.
