I have a Tool Check so I jumped in this right away. Perfect ratcheting companion for installs!

I now have several, love them especially the fixed blade(non ratcheting) ones.

Good deal. Yeah I’m thinking fixed blade is a good way to go. Thanks for commenting! 👍

I recently got a couple vessel insulated screwdrivers for use in an industrial electrician setting and love the ball grip (yeah yeah funny funny) they are great

I feel how much back drag matters depends on the size of screws / bolts you're working with. If you're working mostly on tiny electronics, get the least back drag as possible. If you're working with thicker wood screws, back drag doesn't really matter that much.

That’s exactly right. Good point. Thanks for watching!

Good review, I have a Phillips version and I like using it a lot for many of the same things you said, but I do agree you can hit the reversing switch easily. I do really love that It’s a ratcheting stubby as well.

Thanks for the feedback. The stubby feature is one of the best things about it. Thanks for watching!

Nice video, man. I have a couple of Vessel’s impact screwdrivers with the ball grip. They’ve definitely got a different feel compared to most other screwdrivers, but I kind of like their ball grip design, especially when I have to really bear down on a fastener. 👍

Yeah great torque. Not so sure about this screwdrivers adjustable ratchet ring being so easy to reverse when using it. I might need to try some other Vessels. Thanks for commenting! 👍

Just purchased one of these and used it for the first time today. To my surprise, I accidentally flicked off the ratchet as I was driving a screw. Being aware of that potential problem, I didn't think it would happen to me. We'll have to see how often this occurs. I was driving a screw at shoulder height. That might have had something to do with the problem.

Check out the video I did recently on the Anex ball grip. I think you’ll like it. Thanks for watching!

I wonder if it would feel worse with the back drag improved. Since it is designed for you to have your fingertips on the lower portion of the driver back drag might make it too stiff to move with your fingers.
@projectpinehills
@projectpinehills Месяц назад
Well that’s what I mean, lower the back drag and it will be easier to use the screwdriver. Thanks for watching!

I just got the similar vessel ratcheting driver with hidden stubby, but was disappointed that it had a fixed #2 phillips rather than the bit holder like this one. I was really focused on the stubby part, so my bad. I want to send it back and get this one. Similar experience as you. I don't really have much in the way of ratcheting drivers, and was very curious to try the ball grip that everyone seems to love. I've only played with the one I have a little and it's ok I guess. I would like to use it more to see if I like it or not.

I like it except for the location of the yellow ring. I find that I turn it a lot unintentionally. Thanks for the feedback and thanks for watching. Have you subscribed?

I feel like the back drag matters a lot less when you can easily twist the ratchet with your fingers.
@projectpinehills
@projectpinehills 10 месяцев назад
Yes, my biggest take away was the yellow rings direction. Thanks for commenting! 👍

My thoughts too

Im no sure if reversing it would fix that. I mean that mean you can slip when you ratchet in the opposite direction. Plus that would be contra of all the other tools out there. I mean all tools hove drive in = turn right and drive out = turn left
@projectpinehills
@projectpinehills 7 месяцев назад
It would be different than other tools but given the location of the ring, it would prevent turning it by mistake as you torque. 👍

The new Wera 838 RAS (with a very small handle) features a ratchet selector that turns in the intuitively "correct" direction (right to drive and left to loosen). However, an Amazon reviewer from Germany notes that the selector on that screwdriver operates so smoothly that it's still easily knocked into lock position, he says.
@projectpinehills
@projectpinehills 2 месяца назад
That Wera is a nice driver. The selector is in a place where you can stay clear of it while using it. I’ll have to check it out.

I could find no way to prevent turning the yellow ring while using. Pretty annoying. But it makes the best stubby you can find.
@projectpinehills

Agreed. Other than that, it’s a great driver. Thanks for watching!

Hey I have a question. Trying to figure out if mine is defective or if it's normal. When you turn the stubby slowly does it let go at some point? Like turns quicker, and then tightens up, and then loosen up, and then tightens up, and so on?
@projectpinehills
@projectpinehills 3 месяца назад
Like it has more back drag at one point than it does at other times? If so, that's typical for that driver.

You can put a drill at high RPM in it and run it in the ratcheting mode to see if it improves.
