@@Tadpoletofrogs his voice was not small. It was medium sized. His wonderful technique made it easy for him to hit high notes. His timbre was out of this world. King among tenors during The golden age and no one has surpassed him since.

Yes, Björling's voice was not small. It was medium sized within the lyrical, lyrical spinto register he was in. No, Caruso was not a better singer than Björling. No one was a better singer than Björling!

@@Tadpoletofrogs Ha, ha .... you're funny! To convince yourself you have to find shit about Björling. You try to make Björling worse for Caruso to appear in better days. That's something Caruso wouldn't have liked. Merril was Barryton. All lyrical tenors had difficulties to be heard next to him in a studio. No, I repeat: Björling's voice was medium sized within the lyrical, lyrical spinto register he was in. And no one was a better singer than Björling! There is no evidence of anything else.

Pensar que no tenía una voz grande sino más bien pequeña,si comparamos con Corelli por ejemplo; pero Bjorling brillaba como ninguno por su sonido, su técnica y sus notas tan bellas y perfectas.

IMMENSE! My favourite. Great intonation, power and diction, only 1 wrong word spelled, the Italian word "singhiozzo" on 2:23 mabye is not easy to say, but it's not "Sinioccho" but "sin·ghióz·zo". Meraviglioso, anyway. I adore him.

Have listened to quite a few other tenors singing this aria and like them better. How come? Because he doesn't possess the right instrument for dramatic singing. Voice too small, no peng, no squillo, no goosebumps...mere technical (correct) singing.
