Does this have a better suspension than the Sherman s? I mean you say it's better than the s22 pro but I just don't see that being possible with the cnc sliders that are installed in all the resellers I can find.
@OWGAC
@OWGAC Год назад
@@Everything13ish Veteran runs hydraulic shock so higher density medium which smooth out the travel and make it's harder to bottom out, it's not so much the geometry of the shock but rather then the type. You can swap the s22 shock out for hydraulic and you will get matching performance but it will be even more cost

With an IP55 rating and the knobby tires I'm thinking this would be a great replacement 2nd vehicle for the commuter that doesn't quite need the range of a veteran sherman s, but wants to be able to still ride on those snowy days. It's definitely on my radar for sure. I love that they focused on torque rather than top end speed. This really maximizes the performance in the speed range that sensible people actually tend to travel (30-35mph.)

your videos never miss! i really want to see a high performance non suspension wheel come out again because i feel like they could fit so much into a rs19 size wheel now like a c40 motor, 126v-134v, smart bms, and maybe even more battery and something like that is my dream wheel

First I love your content.. thanks! So this is a great proposal for me, this wheel. But to keep comments shorter only one question: I noticed wobble? The stance you used is too far forward and I have to ask is that due to the adjustable jump pad being too far forward that (for it to be comfortable and usable) you need a slightly forward stance then you might otherwise need without the jump pad?
@OWGAC
@OWGAC Год назад
It's easier to wobble for the same reason why it's so agile, the Patton is design with most of its mass closer to its centroid so its easier to pivot, so less momentum to keep it on axis but it's well balanced enough that when it does happen the wobbles are predictable and easy to control. But again, at higher speed this becomes more of an issue but I suspect that not a lot of ppl would really ride above 40mph regularly.
@KaizenOz
@KaizenOz Год назад

I only got the wobbles on my sherman upon heavy emergency stops when I was learning.. I’ve advanced to the point I avoid emergency stops. Turning seems to be the solution. The other issue is train tracking (tremmling). I fear that the most I like to steer not be steered.
@thetastefultoastie6077
@thetastefultoastie6077 Год назад
I've heard this myth repeated by a few media influencers, but a higher battery voltage does not drain the battery faster. Power is measured in Watts, and all that matters is the Watts stored in the battery and the Watts used by the motor. A motor which consumes 10A@50V, or 5A@100V are both consuming the same amount of power (500W) and will both drain a 1000Wh battery in 2hrs. The benefit of the higher voltage, is that you can transfer the same amount of power with a lower current (Amps), and produce less waste heat. You can also then use thinner and lighter cables.
@darkstar4494
@darkstar4494 Год назад
It gives you the potential to drain the battery faster, but as you said, the same motor output at any voltage takes the same amount of current out of the batteries.
@busybody1474
@busybody1474 Год назад
Not worth mentioning thinner cables, ridiculously heavy wheel and the higher voltages haven't done diddly-squat to make these wheels lighter
@grb1969
@grb1969 Год назад
This is basically true as a rule of thumb but a higher Voltage motor is slightly more efficient but this is mostly negated by the heavier motor needed for those higher speeds. 😮 In the end, speed is what drains batteries in the fastest/shortest time but its worth it if you’re not going far or want to get there quicker. More is just different but not always better value.
@OWGAC
@OWGAC Год назад
I got 20 miles @ 126v with 2200wh as compared to 100miles (5x) @ 100v on the Sherman with 3600wh (1.6x). I think going forward. EUC manufacturers cannot underestimate the importance of fire safety. Veteran, Inmotion and Kingsong standout in that regard. The aviation industry is a great demonstration of how giving safety top priority will galvanise public opinion in your favour.

Before Extreme next! 😆 InMotion and KingSong for sure should be worrying, though Begode will likely be fine.

I think this wheel is a winner, I wonder if I could get a good trade in on my 16X :-) Foot plates suck though.

Still happy with my 16x but I wouldn't expect a good trade in..

What are the pads on the Sherman s? Thought they were Clark’s but couldn’t see them on their site

You can't go wrong with the sherman S, I still don't regret my purchase since I still love that wheel

It’s seems like a really nice wheel…however, the current design trend for the industrial look leads to an EUC with a lot of sharp edges that protrude from pretty much every corner of the wheel…I’m thinking front and back carry handles, the suspension mount at the back, kick stands etc…many of which are metal, with hard edges. My concern is that in a fall, particularly a higher speed fall, a wheel of this design and weight could become very dangerous indeed if it hit the rider or a bystander. Those hard metal protrusions would not be causing a few nasty bruises, they would be breaking bones..and very easily!

8:30 couldn't you just unscrew the wingnut and drop the pad off but leave the bumper?

Have you measured Patton's 16" circumference? There is an opinion that it is longer than 18" KS-18L )))
@OWGAC
@OWGAC Год назад
it is 17.5" in diameter, exactly the same size as a "16" inmotion V12 and Begode V4

KS 18L rim is 14", Patton 12"

One comment about difficulties in pivoting a rear handlebar device is not to forcibly pivot from the handle, but rather use a combination of tilting the wheel and pivoting with the handle. Begode users know the drill. It's effortless when done properly and enables very accurate control.

Ahh magnesium, the last metal you want to catch on fire or get too hot and then come in contact moisture or water 😅

Interesting that you call this the best offroad suspension. Do you prefer it to the S22 Pro even with the much shorter travel? How do they compare?
@OWGAC
@OWGAC Год назад
Its more nimble and is great for hill climb, if you want high speed down hill or jumps I can see the s22 being a better choice

This wheel gets me excited for solid state batteries like nothing else. All EUCs will benefit but packages like this that can remain smaller and lighter with more range and power to weight.. I can't freaking wait.

I've only ever riden the Begode Master so idk how to feel about this wheel. I don't care about offroading much but I know some people do.
