I have V13 and Sherman S I love Sherman S the most .... V13 have range problem but is very stable a high speeds. Sherman S is the winner since its a fun generator with amazing acceleration. Sherman S is more versatile, more practical and more fum than the V13 . If you want to go fast as hell on roads V13 is clearly better. Slow riding V13 is not good - its a speedy wheel. I remember how my SHerman OG rim selfdestructed so Im a little carefull with stairs. Sherman S seat is a yoga block. Try using both grabhandles for seated riding when you want to accellerate og decellerate For emergency braking stand up first then brake... Just my 2 c... Thx for nice video. I hope rain will not kill the bearings like it did on kingsong s22.
@jonoeuc
@jonoeuc Год назад
Oh nice comparison. Is the V13 slimmer and more ergonomic around the top of the shell? haha wild 2 handed acceleration! I have toyed with that idea but have a mental block because it seems sketchy! yea I definitely stand with grab handle for harder braking. The bearings have a good chance with the grease and covers. Should hold up. Cheers!
@FinnBjerke
@FinnBjerke 10 месяцев назад
@@jonoeuc Ergonomic is a laff really; I only ride V13 in seated position - its so bloody heavy I get lower back problems if I stand up too much of the riding time. V13 can easily and comfortably do 80 kmh and be stable, Sherman S is not builld for that kind of speed I find. I love all my wheels except the Kingsong s22. Inmotion V11 for ch8ill rides - Sherman S for off roading and longer trips. V13 for fast as hell road riding. The best of em is def Sherman S.

Hey Jon, thanks for the shout out. Personally, i used a very thin piece of plastic that filled the whole width of the mudgard holder. It was a PITA to cut to fit, but it wont bulge and it even close the small cuts under the motor cable. Not sure how well the rectancular piece you siliconed in place will hold though 😮. I can send you pictures of how mine looks like.
@jonoeuc
@jonoeuc Год назад
Hey Matt, yeah send pics! I was looking to place the plastic across the entire face. It appeared the suspension was slightly recessed into that channel and that's why I inset it. True! I figure it may fall out but decided it wouldn't cause a crash etc so I'd try that position. Cheers

If the Sherman S doesn’t have enough power for you now not many options. Patton, smaller wheel less stable at speed, range and top speed, V13 heavier, range, can be difficult to excess power, EX30 ticks many boxes but quality, reliability, safety - new wheel though and meant to be a step in the right direction. I went the same route, V11 to Sherman S but only have a fraction of your mileage so power plenty for me. Plus the suspension is no work and superb. Great, detailed review👍
@jonoeuc
@jonoeuc Год назад
Thanks Steve, spot on. What i'm wondering is if the ShermS was 126V would that pretty much be the perfect package. By increasing the responsiveness and ability to brake and accelerate. Definitely still enjoying it :) cheers

got all answers on the sherman S , of any question i would have in mind. Just like to mention one, charging is very loud, and i can't charge such a wheel, in my tiny appartment of 10 meter square in paris. Maybe i could change part of the charger to make it less loud, but that is sad, just to think i will have to do that on day one, after paying more then 4000 Euros. Just an example of how detailed this video is 👍, because Jon let you hear the noise of the charger. Now i know it would be unbearable. Other then that as espected the Sherman S is an outstanding wheel. Now i need to look for a new flat 😄 Thanks much Jon, outstanding job.

@jonpurcell6838 it's going great. I was anticipating a weigh adjustment but I was still put off a bit by it. Took only a handful of miles to get acclimated though. I feel much more stable at speed now which is what I was looking for so I'm happy there. I think I could use just a tad more low down torque for slower maneuvering but I'm happy overall. I went with the k340a street rire and it has a strong gyro at about 20mph+. It doesn't lean much in the turns so it does require body/knee shifting.

I now have 2200 miles on my ShermanS, i donated my V8s & V11 to a family in Tenn sense i can't see myself riding something slower should i ever need the extra power and speed. At 250lbs i regularly get 70 miles to a charge doing a mix of high speed 40+ and normal riding. I use my bluetooth earbuds to hear the beeps in my helmet using the EUC WORLD APP. I do wish for at least a 126v sherman as i have seen the 134v Commander Pro is the same in all other respects to the SS, but i can live with what i have as my demands for more power is not that often. The Sur-ron seat with the front cut off to view the screen offers the best most comfortable seated riding experience. In EUC World app set battery percent in alarms to 20% so after the battery has given you 80% of it capacity you'll get beep when you're in the last 20%. THIS IS A GREAT VIDEO AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR HARD WORK MAKING IT!! 😃

I had the same headlamp problems on my Sherman Max so I replaced the stock light with an aftermarket Jeep fog lamp. Fog lamps are great because the beam stays low, out of opposing traffic and doesn't blind other people's eyes.

@@jonoeuc There are lots of aftermarket jeep fog lamps on the market. The fog lamp is made to be mounted low and beam doesn't project up, so it won't blind drivers in a fog. A 4" 30w fog lamp fits perfectly in the mounting area and it was easy to secure with zip ties and wire to a 2.5mm plug.

Im looking to upgrade from my v11 ive owned it for a month and have put 2000km on while it was fun at first even though I bought it at 3000km it's starring to get old I find myself hitting pushback every ride even after my 50kmh crash two weeks ago I love the wheel but the range and speed have become too little for me even with the top suspension blown on my v11 it still rides great and I even do single tracks with relative ease with my bald street tire overall the v11 is definetly a begginer wheel for the first 1500km of riding and if you live in a small town I dont see the need for another wheel however if you are in a big city like me the v11 will leave you wanting more, Fairly quickly I realized I was gettting squiggly just for shits and giggles because I was getting bored mid ride.

@jonoeuc
@jonoeuc 3 месяца назад
lol yea wandering. It's when the EUC starts to turn and move in direction that I'm not expecting. It is extremely unnerving since it typically happened at high speed. I have since realised why. It was when my tyre pressure was too high (35psi). If I held the camera and selfie stick to the side the extra wind resistance pulls the wheel around. cheers

Hi Brow, The torque is very good but I'm not sure if it's specifically a C40 motor etc. The only top speed option is with the firmware update to allow 'High Speed Mode'. Some have suggested this enables field weakening. I enabled the HS Mode which adds about 10kmh to the top speed achievable.

Hey mate, it is slowly leaking, I try to check it every two weeks or so. See the below psi drop over time. the format is: date - psi initial - new psi. I don't like slime because I don't want anymore rotational mass or unbalance. Plus it seems incredibly toxic to handle (eg armadilloz for onewheel) The tyre is very tough and haven't had a puncture over about 8,000km between the V11 and ShermS. Have you ever been stopped by the police, riding on the roads? Technically, you can only ride on a road with a max speed limit of 60 kph. I live in rural Vic and have only recently started riding the EUC. I stick to shared bike paths and wide footpaths.. not comfortable riding on the road yet. The police have spotted me on the footpath several times, but have not paid any attention to me. BUT I don't go too fast yet. Interested in your experiences with long distance and higher speed riding.

The Abus Bordo 6000 Folding lock is great for that. mobil.abus.com/int/Consumer/Bicycle-locks/Folding-Locks/BORDO-6000K It's not as secure as a U-Lock but long enough that i thread it through the rim and my helmet too. Attaching a motion alarm is decent idea too. Like this amzn.asia/d/7zQIWVz It really depends on where you live. Nothing will stop a determined thief with an angle grinder. hope that helps.

Say what you will about the King Song suspension, I’m 220lbs plus gear and my S18 suspension is plush as Jabba’s tummy. I’m seriously considering the Sherman-S for my next wheel, but I’m going to see how things shake out over the rest of this year. I’ve heard a lot of people say that they feel like the Sherman-S is ALMOST there (not that any other wheel is THERE), but if I’m investing $4000 in an EUC, I don’t want to have to do much to it.
@jonoeuc

Hey Malik, did you have to change the S18 shock? I thought the stock was too soft? waiting is a good plan since eucs are developing all the time. veteran has a newly released free foot plate upgrade. I'd say you're then stuck upgrading the power pads and seat. Cheers

Quick question, I’m planning to start with a V11 and then maybe move to a Sherman S, similar to you. After you’ve experienced the Sherman S, do you still think that’s a good move?
@jonoeuc
@jonoeuc 10 месяцев назад
Hi Gzo, yes it's a great move but depends on your use case. The V11 is very capable but not suited for road riding. The ShermS is far better at road riding but not quite fast enough for 80kmh roads if that's your goal? I use it for fun transport and stick to back roads and bike paths. In some ways the V11 is more fun at slower speeds since it is so light and nimble. The ShermS is more comfortable and better at cruising at 50kmh and higher. Did you already get a V11? cheers jono

Outstanding review. I guess I’ll say that my gearing is depending on speed/condition, not what I ride. My fast wheel is an EXN, but if I’m just bipping off at 25 mph or less to the store, helmet and wrist guards are it. I’d gear up more if I were doing something slower off road, and I’d also gear up more if I expected to be faster than 30 mph. I think there’s something to be said for not being mega geared, as I’m the only EUC rider I have ever seen, and there’s some value for people thinking it’s not crazy. For utility runs on roads, I’m not worried about crashing.
@jonoeuc
@jonoeuc Год назад
100% Something I wanted to add in the video is that more gear encourages faster riding since it dulls my senses. Noise and wind feel etc. This does detract from a more engaged riding experience. The shot where I have the bike helmet on (short trip down for filming) felt sooo much nicer. However I just recently crashed from a Kangaroo jumping out of the bushes directly in front of me. Only going 35kmh (22mph) still went flying and for a slide. glad I had all of it on then.

Do you think that the concerns regarding control would be less of an issue with a heftier fella? Anyone out there around my size that would be willing to discuss their experiences with EUCs? (285 lbs/129kg/20 stone) I'm rather hesitant to start off with a lower end ones because of my heavier body. Most of these EUCs state a load limit of 265lbs/120kg/19 stone and I'm concerned that I would damage the suspension. On the plus side I have tree trunks for legs.
@stevehopkins2657
@stevehopkins2657 Год назад
I'm 6'3" 285lbs and I've ridden the s18 and my current wheel is the v12. They both feel a little small and the no suspension on the v12 sucks. I really want to go to one of these bigger wheels, I really like the Sherman s.....but those pedals being up so high is worrying. It's already difficult for me to mount/dismount and that pedal hight would make that even harder. Also, you will definitely be up there depending on your height. When I'm on my v12 I tower o er everything and feel quite top-heavy and going faster than 25mph is sketchy as hell.
@jonoeuc
@jonoeuc 10 месяцев назад
Hi Voodoo, that's an excellent point. This wheel is very heavy relative to me and I feel it. My theory is that it IS better suited to larger people. I've heard that ideally wheels shouldn't weigh more than 50% of your weight. If anyone else can chip in with their ShermS experience please do.

Another fantastic review. Thanks! I still have not gotten used to heavy wheels with high foot pedals, but I'm working on it. I am sure Leaperkim will come out with a "Sherman S Max" or something similar soon enough that will have 126 volts. These manufacturers iterate so fast, it's pointless to try and keep up with the latest/greatest. I look forward to the time when they might consider taking weight into consideration when they are designing new wheels but don't expect that will happen anytime soon.

@jonoeuc
@jonoeuc 9 месяцев назад
It takes some time to get comfortable with them for sure. What are you riding? To clarify my complaint against 100V. My hope is that if it was higher voltage then the power would be more immediate and accessible. It requires high level of force to accelerate. But then you have greater voltage sag so everything is a trade off. It's been a good wheel so far.

Hey Henry! I got pulled over by an undercover car a few weeks back. pulled onto the alex surfclub main strip and the light just turned green. So I gunned it to get in front of the traffic. The closest car was on my ass so I turned off to avoid them and they lit up their lights. They tried to get me to admit speed and self incriminate etc so I just denied. No problem. I generally do everything to avoid traffic and the main busy roads. Ride on backroads, slightly longer routes and alleys etc. If it's backed up then slower on the footpath is fine. Cheers
@henrylana4610
@henrylana4610 10 месяцев назад
@@jonoeuc Awesome man, glad you got off that fine. I do the same, mostly quiet roads and footpath. But yea, they see speed as danger, when actually speeding up in front out of the way of traffic is safest. I have found myself in that scenario a few times and gunning it and hopping on the footpath when a ramp came up saved me big time. Ride hard, ride safe!

This tyre was definitely marked as 80/90-14. I think 90/90-14 is too wide and will rub one side, particularly as the ShermS tyre tends to bias to one side. Interesting point re hangers. However I wouldn't be concerned unless it starts popping up on the forums as a common issue. I recently crashed again and the most damage was to the front grab handle. This was still superficial damage.
