WOW! You Made It!!! Not just to Rome: ALL OF IT! Such an amazing accomplishment in light of EVERYTHING. That includes, weather, distance, terrain, # of countries & cultures & languages, logistics of trains, planes and automobiles - EVERYTHING! Hats off to you both; thank you for your time and effort, not to mention your talents in sharing this epic series of events with us! (When in Rome do as the Romans: I raise a glass of Prosecco to toast you both and your amazing deeds!) In my mind, I keep thinking of you as pilgrims, maybe even crusaders, traversing vast distances to get to Rome. I am pretty sure it is much more memorable that way than if you’d just flown or driven in… enjoy and savor every remaining minute! Welcome back when you return; and may I suggest, this trip could become the basis of A. Very. Good. book? Or PBS documentary for consumption by a wider audience. Just saying… so glad you guys caught my attention when you traveled across the Beverly Bridge in E WA on your bikes (I was in that neck of the woods that day and must have got infiltrated on RU-vid by the algorithm…) Anyway, I am laughing that you made it through security with your walking sticks - I couldn’t get a fold up hammer through from LL Bean one year traveling from East to West coast on one of my adventures. You guys are MAGIC! I bet there are plenty of folks along the path of your travels that will be remarking about your escapades well into the distant future. International role models! Keep on keeping on!

I saw another walker with a giant green pack. Just another walker? Do they speak? I have watched every video. I imagine I will be watching some again. They are that good. I do intend to ask questions when you get home. I have questions all along.

I am so glad you loved walking this trail it is one of my favourites. You stayed in the same Albergue as I did in Rome. Such a restful place in the middle of an amazing City. Ok. Ladies...we have questions....Mostly about logistics and planning. What app are you using to find lodging, do your cell phones work there or did you have to get new sim cards? Do you have to find a place to convert your money every day? Do you have to buy local data to upload your videos? Cell phone plans? Did you consult a travel agent at all about the area or did you do all the research on your own? Also, we are loving following you on this adventure!! Where are you going next?

What a wonderful trip!!! It had everything and you two are fantastic. You always overcome the obstacles put in your way and pick an alternative solution. A great reminder to not take life too seriously. I always preferred the mountains, woods and small towns to big cities, but that's just me. I'm sure you'll go home and rest, see your family and regroup. Then, where are we going to go. Haha. Just remembered, Pesky didn't show up on this trip, did she? (senior moment). Fantastic adventure for sure!! I'd like to do famous long-distance walks well into my 70's (I'm 68) but not mountainous conditions like the Slovenia Trail, nor camping. What are some of the most helpful resources you used for the last section of Slovenia to Rome? Do you know if there's a walk that would tie in to the Croatia coastal walk?
Hi Girls- We love watching your videos. You inspire us to keep moving and we've taken up hiking hills and mountains. Our last hike was Guadalupe Peak in Texas, 8.4 mile round trip. Apparently, I need walking poles because I fell several times going down the mountain. Please send your recommendation for poles. So exciting to follow you guys through the trip! My friends and I are hiking the VF from Besancon next summer, your videos are a huge inspiration for us! I wanted to know how far ahead is too far ahead to make reservations for hotels / hostels in Europe? Obviously I don’t want to make reservations a year ahead of time, but I also think it would be hard to make them a day ahead of time? Another question would be how much did you train before hiking?
