Great video. I must say i recently bought a pair and i love mine, i was really worried about the size as you are not the only one to have had difficulty with the sizing. Fortunately i tried a L (10) and it's a perfect fit, i wear size 9 in Viberg Hikers and 310.

Oh nice, that's awesome. I wish they offered more in between sizes for their slides but I understand why they don't. Some people will get lucky and have a perfect fit while the rest of us just have to get close as possible haha.

I'm impressed you made those. I've been making my own boots for years, and yea, it costs way more and I spend so much time working on them.

Thanks! That’s impressive re: your boots!! Making your own footwear and realizing the time and effort involved definitely brings a new level of respect for high quality boots.

@@BabblingBootsReviews Definitely, it's way more difficult than most would think. I've made half a dozen pairs and they're all riddled with mistakes.

Man those slipers you made look great

speculation: these were a way to use up the bad parts of leftover hides 🧐

You're probably right about that honestly. The pair I got definitely had some visible imperfections in the leather beyond just the horrendous grain break on that slide. I love their service boots but would not recommend their slides

First time i see slides online! Interesting and weird. I always wondered how are those detailed as well as those sneekers they make

Yeah, they are a little bit weird at first but they’re super convenient and comfortable for wearing at home!

Damn those are pimp. My girl would really rag on my ass if I got those. She makes fun of me for wearing slides/slippers like a grandpa. Love your channel and review format!

Haha thanks! I used to really not be a slipper person myself but once you start wearing them they're pretty legit. You should buy her a pair to start wearing. I bet she would end up liking them too haha.

Love your handmade slippers! It highlights that Viberg are probably charging way too much money for such a simple construction. I’m wondering if their slippers are not actually made in the Viberg factory.
@BabblingBootsReviews

Thanks! They’re definitely overpriced for the simplicity of the construction. I didn’t see anything on the website to suggest Viberg would deviate from their usual manufacturing, but it’s disappointing that someone would miss these QC issues.

@@BabblingBootsReviews Drive by Viberg every day.Can get really expensive if you walk in those doors .My buddy who has been a plumber for 40+ years is on his 3rd set of Vibergs.Lots of City workers and loggers love their Viberg boots. almost a generational tradition in my Home town.

I bet! I mean, they’re synonymous [usually] with quality, and beloved by the masses.

How did you come up with your pattern for the uppers for the ones you made? I may like to try making a pair
@BabblingBootsReviews
@BabblingBootsReviews 10 месяцев назад
First I got the shape of the sole cut out and ready to go. Then I just got a piece of paper to simulate an upper and used binder clips to attach the paper to the sole along the edges (basically using the clips to simulate stitching). Then you can trim the paper to get the shape you want. Once you have the rough shape of the upper, you can slide your foot in and out of the paper to get the fit you want. Then just take the paper off and use it as a pattern to cut the leather upper.

I've tried several Viberg products and they were all built on strange lasts that never fit me propely. They don't take returns at all and so many of there products only come in one width as well. Redwing is generally half the price, comes in more natural fitting lasts in several different widths and has much much better customer service. Screw Viberg.

Wow I never realized that Viberg doesn't offer refunds for their products. They only offer exchanges and store credit, that's crazy. I guess if your only concern is sizing then you could just keep exchanging until you find the size you want. That's brutal though if the last just isn't a good fit for you. Can't blame you there

Maybe it's just me. I would not buy those. $300 for slippers? I don't make that kind of money, washing dishes at Panda Express.
@BabblingBootsReviews
@BabblingBootsReviews 10 месяцев назад
Yeah the $235 retail price is too high. Even though I got them on sale for $200, it’s still not worth what I received.
