I have never tried it. A lot of reviews I read say "adding essential oils could cause damage to the tank". But surely if you clean it regularly, it shouldn't cause much damage.

thank you for shearing. I have a question. my 5 month is congested and have a cough using a cool mist would it help with his cough and congestion or make it worse? bronchitis or pneumonia ?

I am unsure due to the directions on the vapo steam stating “Add solution directly to cold water only in a hot steam vaporizer”. This particular humidifier emits a cool mist. I don’t want to tell you a wrong answer and risk damaging your humidifier.
