This looks very similar to Battlefleet gothic. The turn key is better than the BFG bearing compass. Plus, all the ships are on flat bases, so no more wobbly top heavy ships!
Really looking forward to this game. Already ordered a fair chunk of IJN stuff. Though a suggestion I might make for sheer sake of simplicity is yo change the abbreviation of DD (meaning damage dice?) Because DD is also the abbreviation/hull marking/class designation for destroyers and originally I thought that that weapon system had something specific for firing against a DD. Thanks for making a pretty damn interesting game. I only got into Iron and Oak during lockdown and I'm really glad that a ww2 naval board game made itself known to me.
Thanks for suggestion Neil, I'll forward it on! We do have in fact two WW2 naval warfare games, the other being Cruel Seas at a different scale and then we have also Black Seas which is 18th century naval warfare.
I know the ship profiles are in the rulebook, but do they also sell the cards preprinted on heavy card to use on the table? I know you can just copy them but there are a lot of them.
I'd like to start a royal navy fleet but there's so many ships not in the range yet any info on any additional fleet additions next year or possibly before ?
I have a question , if a modifier makes an dice role to 7+ like , if I shot on extreme range and on a destroyer (-1) , do I still hit on 6 or couldn’t I shoot ?
I think the resin on the ships is pretty good but please replace warlord resin with metal or plastic I'd love some Prussian cav but I really don't like the material and many of my comrades share the sentiment ):
Ships are representational? So if ine wanted to sacrifice luxury and high expense for minimalism, we can replace the ships with counters that have their names? Or wooden blocks with their names on them? That's noy important, unless one hates plastic but likes buying things cheap as much as I do.
