Wife’s turn to drive on the journey home yesterday. Kids were asleep and I watched this. She turns to me and says “what are you watching?! This is the worst commentary I’ve ever heard.” I thought you’d like the compliment 😂

To be fair the commentary is like listening to an under 11's game (big swing no ding) if anyone said this in a decent standard they would get laughed at and the one that gets me everytime is "its beat his edge" it should be its beat the "bat" or its taken the edge if he snicks it. Great to watch and I'm really amazed this standard exists,I've never played or seen a level like this one Keep the videos coming though

@@TheKing-mc1vf there was a player twenty years ago who opened the bowling for us...... He had the same one liners and had us in stitches every week. I try get as many of those into the commentary as I can as well as on the pitch! Famous lines such as (and a good idea for some tshirts) "You are bowling to the wrong field, you want to bowl to this one not next door" "great swing bowling, you bowl and the batsman swings" And my all time favourite "you are a really accurate bowler, you hit the middle of the bat every time!"

⁠@@TheKing-mc1vf when you say ‘proper league’ do you mean with players who get paid? Otherwise there’s no difference regardless of standard - people playing for enjoyment. I don’t get why the standard matters, this team has never proclaimed to be anything above relatable for a lot of people. Life is far too serious, this game is a release for a lot of people. Don’t knock it, try having a laugh sometimes! In cricket you’ve got to spend all day with these lads, you all need to get on and quite often the best way is just by having a laugh.

Tough losing a match when you have a good run of form. But I think any frustrations were justified looking at how the batting went. Sanderstead CC also had a cracking low scoring game that had a tense finish. So well done Walton le Wolds and Loughborough for taking all the way to the last wicket.

Did Stuey replace his divots at mid off? I know you guys aren’t trying to reach the upper echelons of the game but a few of you might benefit from keeping your head and eyes to the front a bit longer throughout the shot. Left shoulder is very closed and the head turning to the off side way too early. When facing slowish mediums and spin, try and hit a few of the short and wide ones in front of square.

6:49 The run-out not a run out - If the keeper had the ball in his left glove before breaking the wicket (knocking the bails off) with his shoulder then the batsman IS out because any part of the arm from the hand up to the shoulder where the ball is in the hand counts as being part of the hand. Basically you can have the ball in your left hand & break the wicket with your left shoulder and according to the laws of cricket thats out.

Interesting games and some of those late wides may have had a touch of emotional biais to them BUT looking at your replay I think the keeper knocked your stumps before any chance of you being bowled. I think the certain LBW may have pitched outside the line AND finally, you deserved donkey for that push to get Stuart off the ground for a single...especially as you appeared to throw your teddy out of the pram :)

That’s so harsh on Stuey. I noticed no one mentioned you changing your boots mid over and fielding for one ball in just socks. How you’ve avoided the donkey award this week is shocking. Missed a straight one, dived for a ball after it had gone past you. The list is long but I can’t be bothered to type it all.

What a poor day. That same old opening bowler who is about as penetrating as a wet celery stick. One day they will drop him. Must have been a ball with grease the number of drops. Then to top it all WOTW bring in a new no 3 batsman. A total disgrace to the coverted No 3 position. To top it all doesnt walk when being bowled.
