I own a 2010 Vision Tour and bought it used 2 years ago. In South Dakota, both our Indian dealers and a number of independents know Victory well and how to work on them. It appears that Victory has caught on with the younger riders and they sell as soon as they are listed. My own take as both a tall rider and a senior rider is that they are an amazing motorcycle. Not to much tech, but all the tech you really need. They are economical to operate, easy to maintain and repair, and reliable as all get out, very comfortable. My Vision was the only bike I found that fit right out of the box and at 6' 5" and 280lbs that is incredible indeed. Any mods you want to make are out convenience, not necessity. The fit and finish are not up to Harley or current standards, but the Victory runs while the Harley is in the shop. A number of parts manufacturers are committed to producing parts for the Victory line well into the future. I believe, like many Iconic bikes of the past, that parts will be available well past 2027. I love my Victory because it has soul and speaks to me. It tells me what it likes and doesn't like. Soul is priceless! I may get a second motorcycle, but my Victory will always be my first love.

Great additional input Vincent. Having Indian dealers near you that continue to support them is great. I think knowing the situation in your area is important for that buy decision as experience does appear to vary greatly depending on where you are. I do know what you mean on the fit and finish side of things. I think they would have gotten there with a few more years and continued investment. That is one area the current Indian and Harley bikes have made strides in. Most of the fit and finish items have nothing to do with drive train though so it makes for a bike that has a few quirks, but runs like a champ. In regard to the after-market stepping up, I hope you are right as I have no intention on getting rid of my Victory. Thanks for the comments!

As a former owner of 3 victory bikes I also have been riding for over 38 years and never had a Harley that needed to be in the shop. Never left stranded by a Harley or Victory. The longest wait on parts was trying to track down a set of fork seals for a victory jackpot in 2019. Victories promise of 10 years parts support is a sham.

@@Twincam808Not exactly. While Polaris does/did own both, I think all but one engine was scrapped and is on one of the Scouts. I think Arlen Ness was the main designer for Victory bikes. The main designer for Indian is Harley 😂

Ive just sold my 2017 Victory Magnum Stealth. Having owned and driven it, i can honestly say that it was the best motorcycle i have ever owned!! And I've owned several Harley baggers! I sold this bike because they became a collectors item and i got MORE than i paid for it!! I recently competed in the Police Motorcycle Competition and did very well in spite of having a longer wheel base, a set back seat (forcing the rider to be seated well back of optimum, and in the hands of a new rider, I was quite proud of my performance! IMOH I believe if you keep you Vic in good shape, it should fetch a higher price in the future!

Totally agree with your take(s) ... I'm 6'3 and when I sat on a Cross Country Tour in the showroom (in Australia) when they were new ... it felt comfortable without any modifications ... in fact most of their range I sat on and they all felt so comfortable ... I regretfully went for a Harley Road King and even though I changed out bars, seats etc and it still never felt quite right ... all these years later I'm now looking at a Victory again ... lesson learned ...

Excellent review! 😃 I have a 2016 XCT , Wife and I absolutely love it! I have the Lloydz air filter, RCX Slipon exhaust and Cobra power tuner and the bike really hauls ass! Like you said, no shortage of power. How are the kicker speakers working out for you? I did install the Alpine speakers from Witchdoctors in the front fairing only. Also added some Boom mat around the speakers to fill in the gaps and direct the sound forward. They sound much, much better than the stock speakers and higher output without getting into an amp. I have my fader set to mostly all front speakers, The rear speakers just don`t add anything. Keep the Victory going as long as you can, 44,000 miles on mine, Enjoy! 😎

Thanks man! I didn't add an amp either so the kicker speakers don't add much for volume but made a big difference in clarity. You have better presentation throughout the lows, mids, and highs. The V-92 cruiser is the ONLY Victory ive seen any legitimate complaints about, mainly because they were the first bikes and part of a learning curve for Polaris. My Vegas has 34k and runs like a monster unleashed even with 20 years on her.

I had a few Victory motorcycles , 2007 Arlen Ness Jackpot, 2015 Cross Country Tour & 2016 Victory Magnum, all were awesome bikes. sold all 3 of them in March 2021 as the parts and accessories were becoming harder to obtain and the aftermarket has pretty much dried up. Sold all 3 during the hight of Covid for ridiculous prices, ended up another Harley & buying a new 2021 Harley Street Glide. There are things i miss about the Magnum or CCT like the long floor boards but when it comes to maneuverability Harley handles better and not so long. currently i have a 2009 Harley Rocker C, 2014 Harley Dyna Wide Glide & 2021 Harley Street Glide. Ive also owned a couple Indian over the years but the Indian's and Victory's all got sold, Harley is where i am at and i told think i will be going back to Indian anytime soon.
@chasingredlineofficial
@chasingredlineofficial 2 года назад
Thanks for the comments. You've had quite the list of bikes. The floor boards are definitely a highlight but also understand the longer wheel base. It has never really bothered me though as the highway stability is improved slightly. While the parts are somewhat available from OEM still (some are not), the accessories market is for sure spotty and you have to dig several places to find what you want. Enjoy the Harley life!

I have a 2004 Vegas with the only mods being a Mustang seat and a Victory windshield. I have over 65000 mile on it and it has been very reliable and comfortable on long rides. I usually get 50 mpg and the 92 cubic inch engine has more than enough power. The clutch cable and drive belt both broke once which was annoying, but other than that only tires, oil and brake pads replaced. I do all my own maintenance and I have to say that they could have made it easier to service the rear wheel, tire,brake as it is a total pain in the ass to change out. I have loved it and it has definitely been the best motorcycle I have owned. I have a new Moto Guzzi and I have to decide whether or not to keep the Victory or sell it.
@chasingredlineofficial
@chasingredlineofficial Год назад
Yeah, that is the large question for the community on whether to keep the things. I'm choosing to ride mine until it won't go any longer. Primarily due to the cost of a more recent alternative. To get something remotely close on a new bike would cost me far more than I stand to lose if I eventually get to a problem I can't fix on the Vic. Paying $30k to add an infotainment system and a little more displacement isn't enough to get me to switch. Would you replace the Vegas or just downsize to just the Guzzi?

Gotta love the Vegas! The Challenger/Pursuit is a hell of a bike and legend has it the PowerPlus 108 was originally planned to be the Freedom 108 for Victory (most will say it is fact). Both great bikes. For me, a lot comes down to cost to value and the XC is a really good bang for buck currently. Will be interested what you land on when you are ready for something new.

Good video; very informative and helpful to potential owners. I have owned 2014 Victory Cross Country for a few years, and would not part with it, but I have to say that did regret buying it when I first bought it. I am 6ft tall, and while ergonomically, it is a good fit, the wind buffeting at highway speeds was unbearable. You mentioned trying a number of windshields before you found the right one; I would say that for the Cross Country (maybe not the XC Tour), buying an aftermarket windshield is not a choice, unless you are short and don't ride fast. Madstad windshelds and brackets are very popular. The key is to get a windshield that is high enough so that you can see over the top, and some brackets to push the windshield away a bit from the fairing. The resulting pressure equalisation lowers the buffeting effect. Installing fork lowers as well completes the solution.
@chasingredlineofficial
@chasingredlineofficial Год назад
Thanks David! Great points all around. And you are absolutely right. If left unaddressed, the buffeting can absolutely destroy the experience. I had one ride in particular after removing my hard lowers where it was clear that the buffeting had to go. This was before I added the deflectors and I was about 8 hours away from home when I really came to that realization. The lower deflectors have a pretty large impact. I do think it would be even better if I pushed the shield away from the fairing a tad more similar to what the Madstad does but perhaps not quite that far out. The setup now allows me to go long distance without much trouble at all.

Hello, from my limited experience and feedback from users on this channel, I wouldn't shy away from it if it has been well maintained. Certain maintenance jobs can be neglected such as fork oil changes, etc. I would try to get an understanding of the maintenance records the individual has kept. The manual shows what should have been done. Any brand will go to crud if allowed to. But, there are plenty of examples with Victories going over 100k miles with little more than standard maintenance. Check out Rylan's channel too. He has several good videos on more common Victory issues.
