This video shows the basics of how to operate an MF35 tractor as well as identification of a lot of the components of the tractor. It will also be helpful to people with a Massey Ferguson 135, TO30, FE35, MF65, TO20, etc.
Awesome video! This machine has a special place in my heart . My granddad had a 300-acre working farm back in the 70s, and this was his workhorse. Watching this brought so many memories flooding back . I was 10 years old when I first learned to drive and man did I love that tractor . Thanks for the video
Good job. I have a TAFE35 which is an Indian made version of the MF35 only sims in the USA for a couple of years. It has been a workhorse and has saved me from many additional hours of backbreaking work.
Hey, just want to urge you to buy a set of replacement shifter boots for your tractor. They are under $5/pair and save your transmission from getting water down in it where it can fill up and freeze cracking the casting in the worst case, corroding the bearings (especially the small needle bearings at the lowest positions), lock up the shifter rods, and create a lot of repair work in there. I just went through the TO35 I inherited to replace bearings and seals in the transmission because of the rubber not sealing to the shifter shafts. The shifter knobs unscrew, pull off the old ones and push on the new ones.
Where are you getting parts? My shift boots are recent but I need other stuff. However I can use it again when I can steer it. Everything else is functional.
My Grampa got one of these new in the 50s. It was his first new tractor on his tobacco farm he sold it to my dad in the early 70s in an auction, it is now my brother’s and most likely is rotting at the farm my dad gave him as well. It was a great tractor, the orchard version, exhaust out the rear... like this, gas engine, deluxe version.
My girlfriend’s parents live in Rogers. Love it out there!. I just got a TO35 too. I’m looking for a mower, auger and front loader. You don’t know of any out there do you?
I just bought a 1963 MF 35 deluxe 3cyl perkins diesel 5 days ago for $600. Runs great. Mine doesn't have diff lock either. But if your brake pedals are not locked together you can press the brake pedal on the wheel that is spinning and the other wheel will start to spin.
@@FarmDad found it in a field been sitting for 9 years .checked fluids, hook booster cables to it and she fired right up. It also came with a little brushhog
I probably payed a bit too much - at least the seller seemed happy, but the tractor is in good working condition even now almost 2 years after I bought it. Having front loader hydraulics It came with two different style buckets, a snowplow and snow chains. I am very happy having the little reliable tractor and never regret the 35 000skr (2700 Pounds) that was my bid. @@designfabrication512
The 3 engine options for the Massey Fergusons were propane (Continental), gas (Continental) or Perkins diesel. The mf65 had a 58hp 4 cylinder Perkins diesel that was a beast.
Can you please tell me what the dimensions of the exhaust down pipe is? How long - tall is the pipe that goes from the exhaust manifold ( with the 3 nuts) to the 90 degree bend?
That little cotter key is your best friend, one time, long ago I got my tractor stuck, mud got up in that drain hole, stopped it up, I did not realize this, drove tractor for a while and oil got on my clutch, Had to have a new clutch Recently, the cotter key finally broke off from years of wear and tear, Take that clutch inspection plate off and you can replace the cotter key, Take care of your old Ferguson and it will take care of you, They are fine tractors,
You are welcome. I have not done that task, so I cannot advise. But there are some good Facebook groups for these tractors where I'm sure someone would be glad to help.
I have one of these with the gas engine... need to do the steering gear box either complete or with a kit. Your split brake pedals can work the same way as a traction control., you just have to brake the side that's slipping,
I haven't ran into that problem. I have a video on how to adjust the clutch pedal, but I'm not sure it would help in this circumstance. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8VgfQB52wzo.html
@@FarmDad Thank you! were assuming at this point that its gonna need a clutch rebuild. Sadly. Not sure how much it will cost but it runs to good not to get it fixed.
I had to split my 35 to rebuild the clutch and I am having a dickens of a time putting it back together. My clutch alignment tool fits kinda snug, how perfect does the alignment need to be?
I haven't split mine. Wonder if this video might help even though it's on a bigger, newer model: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Qbp4EcwiDmE.html
Is there an access that you could loosen the pressure plate bolts through ? once the input shaft is through the disc that can really help to get the end of the shaft into the pilot bushing.
You stated that the 4 cylinder Continental engine was diesel I will correct you . My 59 Ferguson 35 has the Continental 4 cylinder Z-134 gas engine they were not diesel . I have owned and operated many of them since the 1960s with that engine and the perkins 3 cylinder diesel .
The draft-control was actually the reason, why Massey Ferguson and later European farmers could plow with lighter and weaker tractors and less fuel of course.
