I've found that by turning my watch history off , not following the 'latest videos tailored...' and by using my 'Subscriptions' that I see all the Serious Keto Videos as they come up in on my subscriptions feed. I did this to see as many of the videos of the channels I'm interested in which includes this one!
It's such a pain doing anything with subscriptions that I finally went out and got a subscription manager for my subscriptions. Now I have them all sorted into about 12 different categories, and it shows me how many new videos have been released in each category (and then lets me easily view which channels in that category have new content) each time I open RU-vid. I think it's called PocketTube Subscription Manager or something like that. Took a little work to set up, adding each subscription to a category, but now it's much easier to find a channel when I want to view it, without having to remember the name to search. I can't say how well it would work for anyone else, but it's been terrific for me. YMMV.
You and Keto Twins are two that I watch “religiously”. I do not rely on “notifications.” I go to my subscriptions area daily and ensure I watch yours. I regularly share your recipes, even with my non-Keto friends since they are generally just good recipes. Stay in here Steve.
Recipe failures I think would be fun and a good way to teach us more about our own failures and ultimately if there is an opportunity to recover from the failure.
I love to experiment with foods and recipes. I think it would be great to see your crazy ideas, regardless of the final result. If you aren't willing to have a bad meal, you'll rarely have a great one.
My daughter is the co-owner of a spa that has a salt room. My daughter-in-law has pretty bad asthma. Whenever she is having a flare up, she goes to the the salt room and it helps her breathing immensely.
I am very glad that you were upfront about the need for comments, likes, etc. We would all be very sorry if your channel went away, and it is up to us to keep you making more of your great content.
I think the failure recipe videos would be good... especially if you successfully turn it into something else. That would help some people get the confidence to try out their own ideas. The joy of creating something great is worth the occasional failure. Sorry for not being as active this past month when it comes to watching your videos. I've had a lot of business and personal stuff keep me physically and mentally wiped out. I need to remember to just let it play and take time later to listen carefully. Gotta remember to tickle the RU-vid algorithm for you!
Growing up as a child, whenever me or my siblings got sick with any type of nasal or chest congestion, my parents would say, “let’s go to the beach” the salt water would help drain mucous and made recovery much faster. It is believed to be due to the salt. Thanks for what you do Steve!
My wife and I really enjoy your videos and watch every time they come up in the feed. We have noticed they come up less lately. We will be more active viewing in the future.
I try always watch your videos, but lately my life circumstances have changed and I'm not super convinced I always know immediately when one of your videos goes live. I'm going to redouble my efforts, and perhaps put your playlists on even when I can't be totally paying attention, because you have been of GREAT help to me and really helped some of my cooking/recipes. I pledge to help! Hoping we can keep you thriving, Steve. "Failure" videos, blooper reels, product reviews, as well as recipe videos are all welcome and appreciated.
I don't usually have time to comment because as you said, I listen while I work or drive. Right now, I'm prepping food for the week so my hands are busy but I'm leaving this comment to also help with engagement. From now on, I'll leave at least a smiley face or heart on every video I watch to help out a bit more. I definitely want more of Serious Keto and the family! 💜
Thank you for all you do. Because of time restraints I can't watch a lot of channels. Yours is one I watch religiously. You, Wes at Highfalutin, and Annie at Keto Focus keep me motivated.
I would be interested in the failure videos. I mostly get the notifications, however, I do get surprised once in a while with a new video I was not notified of. I hope you will be able to continue your channel. It is one I look forward to watching every time. Will do what I can to support the channel as you suggested.
I, too, am one of your subscribers who watch every video, yet rarely comment. I have been on the keto journey for about four years now, and yours was one of the first channels I subscribed to. I love your podcasts, I love your review videos, and I love your recipes. Please stay with us, Steve… You are amazing!
I also will be more responsive in adding comments because your channel is one I always watch, typically with in a short time of getting notified. Loved your segment about what it takes to put together a video. I had no idea the time, resources, and sometimes frustration that happens behind the scenes.
Hey, Steve. Not big on the product review videos but I always enjoy the video podcasts and cooking videos. Always enjoy seeing your lovely wife and family.
Understandable. While I would prefer to do nothing but cooking videos, I recognize that not all people have the passion, aptitude, or time to make all of their food from scratch. For these folks, pre-packaged keto products may mean the difference between staying keto and falling off the wagon. It is for these folks that I do these reviews. Keto products aren't cheap, so I want to make sure my audience can spend their money wisely.
@@SeriousKetoHey, Steve. I didn't mean my post to be in any way critical. I guess I should have just said "Love your cooking videos and always enjoy seeing your lovely wife and family." Love your channel and appreciate you.
@@doghugger5445 I didn't find it critical at all. I just wanted explain that I have a diverse audience and I try to give them all a little something of value. 😉
Steve, I think you're awesome! I truly appreciate all your hard work - the recipe development and demos, fair and interesting evaluation of current keto topics, product reviews with blood glucose responses, and all of your wonderful family. I value your honesty, kindness, and especially your sense of humor!
Steve, been using a salt room for over 10 years now and notice a significant improvement with my breathing weeks after. I am glad to hear your family is benefiting from it. 🇨🇦
I walk everyday and listen to you and several others as I walk. It’s one of the highlights of my day. I also share the ones that I think someone is gonna like. Keep up the great work and know that there are lots of people that really love what you’re doing!
I’ve been loving your channel for at least 3 years and I haven’t commented until today. Thank you Steve for your sincerity and all the great info you provide! And for letting us all know how these resistant starch-containing commercial “keto” foods can spike people’s glucose.
Steve, it is obvious how much time you put into your cooking videos. They are professional, enjoyable and informative. Appreciate all your effort. You make the keto journey easier for us all.
I find myself searching for your recipes when I am thinking about what to make for diner. Inevitably you have something awesome for me to use as a resource. Thanks for all you do.
Okay- apologies if my comment seems redundant ... I went back to edit to comment about the salt room... we have salt caves here that are holistic spas... I have used them for pain, and yes, they are wonderful for the lungs! In fact, you can purchase ceramic vessels to put Himalayan salt into, for breathing therapy . They work well too- I have had one for years as I live with unmedicated asthma. Salt lamps will assist with lung issues as well , and if there is nervous anxiety in a room, a salt lamp will help to calm the energy to a more restful and peaceful energy. As far as ( and here is the part that may be a repeat if I am the only one not seeing my previous comment)how one chooses to fast or not fast- I am coining an operative word from Emily and Sarah the Keto Twins ... DIRTY intermediate fasting. You and I both would fit into that category- the yummy coffee with the MCT and cream and collagen makes us technically DIRTY... but, as you said, if it harms no one, and works for you... do it! I would love to see some of your fails.. think of this- we never know how much someone else's fail will inspire an idea from someone else... this could open up a whole new category for your channel. Utube I believe like the rest of "social media" is changing its algorithms ... please subscribe, like, AND leave a heart,or a one word comment, or a more substantial comment to engage!
I watch all your new videos every week. I searched videos by the subscriptions tab in RU-vid. Not sure if that makes a difference. I don't usually comment on any channel, but I will try to comment frequently going forward.
Your sense of Humor is GREAT & part of the reason I watch you ! Keep ON Duuude !! We are all fighting for Keto in our own ways & Your perspective is quite IMPORTANT! 🥰 - plus -🤣Lion King 🤣😂😆
I like the idea of showing ’fails’. One reason…it keeps it real! The main reason, though, is it gives us a chance to input ideas as to what might make the fail a success. 🤷🏼♀️
I get all notifications and watch most of your videos. You are my goto keto resource. If I want info on some topic, I always search serious keto and said topic. I always find what I need to know. Better than google!
Congrats on the milestones! I really enjoy your weekly Monday podcast. It must be difficult to keep finding new Keto topics to talk about each week. Your channel really helped me in my journey of eating low carb. Thank you!
One more comment...you had me laughing so hard I spit water on my screen when you were talking about bathroom.. Er...habits! I love how you keep it real! So bathroom issues, family updates, recipe fails, yes to all. It's what makes you relatable. 😊
Thank you for all you do to help us stay on this healthy path! I too notice you’re not in my feed as much… hmmm… Well I’m working remotely this week and will catch up on my podcasts! Stay uniquely you Steve😊
Even though I'm a channel member I don't ALWAYS get notifications. It could be on my end somehow but this is a newer issue, last few months. I love everything you put out, I will continue to "like" and support you/your work any way I can.
Yep, I subscribed and haven’t seen one of your videos for a very long time. So I will visit your channel intentionally and I have shared it too. Your series on why you changed so much was wonderful. I just watched part 1 today. I’m on the same blood pressure meds you mentioned. I am so thankful for your transparency and your help. God bless you!
I have always appreciated your honesty in reviewing products and your scientific approach to cooking and recipes and how they affect your blood sugar. As a recovering T2 diabetic I find that valuable information and it really helps me decide whether or not to try a recipe, ingredient or product. Thank you sincerely for all your efforts and inviting us to share in your journey and family.
Listening to this podcast, made me realize, I haven't seen anything of yours pop up lately in my feed. I know I for one would LOVE the "failures". You've put in time and $$ already and it helps me know I'm not the only one who has had a failure. It also might help with other's and their creative juices and someone in the community might have an idea to "save" one of those "failures"...never a failure...a learning experience! I also for one have to say THANK YOU. Since I saw your video on grinding up a brisket, I did that and that's all my husband wants now. I've found many of your cooking videos have been helpful. Many that I've made and have added into our rotation. Thank you!
I watch all the videos that show up in my feed. I think I get them all, but I notice a lot of the notifications I get are old ones. I watched two today that were from 4 years ago.. I do share some of the videos too.
I remember a co-worker saying she’d had a recipe fail and she threw it away instead of trying to re-invision (?) showing fails and how to salvage could be be very useful 👍🏻 thank you Steve!
Hi, Steve. Here is the requested comment 😉 (But I also just became a "line chef"). I enjoy your podcasts, reactions to media-hyped studies and of course cooking videos. I don't really watch the product reviews since they don't affect me in the Czech Republic, but I hope they do well with your other viewers. Good luck in keeping the channel going.
That’s because YT is fudging the numbers! For a few months now I’ve noticed when I click the thumbs up button the counter rolls backwards meaning it’s not counting the thumbs. If they are doing it to me I’m certain others are experiencing it also. I’ve called them out for it when it first started and hasn’t changed anything…💋🧚🏻♀️❤️🇺🇸
Your videos are always so genuine. With regard to video fails I think if you chose a few that your audience would like we can all benefit from it. As for IF I personally do not engage in that practice. Your videos have helped me limit my carbohydrates and I have lost about 15 lbs since November of last year.
YOU and your channel, Steve, have helped me *immeasurably* in my Ketovore (soon to be Carnivore) journey - especially in helping me to get off Protonix (similar history to yours)! I watch *you* religiously, but also Wes, Keto Twins, Indigo Nili, Ketogenic Woman, & Chris Cookin Nashville. I will never stop (re)watching your channel, & will do more commenting, sharing, & whatever else I can to support your channel's survival! In fact, I just recently recommended your channel to some young visiting nursing students, and a senior citizen friend, at my local senior center after we watched the students' slide presentation on diabetes. The presentation, like all the others these students are required to give on various health topics, have all the standard *wrong* info on diet, salt, fats, carbs, etc. that we've been told for over 6 decades of my life. 😡 I got HBP, fat (I was thin for the first half of my life) & developed diabetes following that crappy advice! It wasn't until I tried Atkins, a few decades ago, (but I fell back into the SAD without the support I needed), & then found YOU a little over a year ago (& Wes), that I was able to get serious (no pun intended 😂), back on track, lost 65 lbs. - only 25 left to go - and reverse my diabetes! My doctor said, "What did you do?!?" I love your personality, wit, and straight forward, no BS scientific approach - & your cooking videos, especially the chaffle variations, equipment reviews, and anything meat related! I really appreciated the instructional parts of the brisket burger, sausage ginding, and "Canadian" bacon ones. I've found that you have *very* similar favs & tastes to mine, and trust that I'll usually like something if you do. I'll add the rest of my recipe comments (much shorter) and questions for those specific videos. I will *still* be watching/listening (& commenting, now that I know it helps) to *your* videos even after I go full carnivore because I enjoy and appreciate all you (and your family) do so much. 💜
Hi Steve. Keep up the good work. I usually watch your videos during my lunch break. I'm always telling someone about your channel. You're at the top of my list.🙂
my vote on recipe failures... I would enjoy hearing about them in short-short-condensed-story version in your podcasts. it is a part of your journey and makes you humanly relatable. We can also join you in celebrating even more when you turn it into a win and salvage it later. But I have very limited time for RU-vid, so have to prioritize to watch videos that will help me accomplish something... with your podcast being the only exception, and I just enjoy the general "food for thought" that you provide.
to answer the question you are likely thinking... how do review videos and unboxing videos count as helping me "accomplish" something? I have found that our taste buds are very closely aligned! so it is pretty safe to say that if you like it, I will like it! and vice versa! so those reviews help me either save time and money by avoiding them, or to know my time and money will be worthwhile! They are helpful... and also entertaining when the family gets involved!😃
I’m not sure how you showed up on my RU-vid feed a few months ago, but I am so glad you did! I don’t follow keto (although I need to), but I do like your recipes & find you motivating. After watching this one, pooping will never be the same 🤣🤣
I just made sure that my notifications were turned on. I do think I usually see your content and watch---I love the product reviews and recipes. I'm very interested in the ones where you test your blood sugar with product reviews---even realizing things can affect people differently. I will do my best to share and engage more with your content so that you can continue doing this for us all!
Absolutely many thanks for all that you and your family do for us your subscribers! I enjoy watching and learn a lot from your content. Sometimes I may not comment and may not watch right away when you post but you can always count on me being here supporting your channel. 😊 Steve you're doing an awesome job and always interesting topics/recipes! Take care.
Please dont go anywhere .. luv your journey as it truly helps mine. So many of us are with you! I love your humor. You’re fun and lighthearted. Thank you.. will continue to watch.
I've heard other content creators across the spectrum mention the same points. Not seeing comments after posting. Not getting the latest videos after release. I depend on your content for cooking ideas, living healthier and overall commentary. I have viewed both of your channels but I'm not sure your posting on your alternate channel. I appreciate the channel and the content. Thank you.
I love your videos, and look forward to them very much! Hopefully, we can keep you afloat. Honestly, I don't see your videos in my feed for at least a few days, despite having notifications turned on.
I try to watch every video, and I use my subscription tab to see what's new. As you can see, life sometimes gets in the way and I'm late to the party, but I try to catch up as soon as I can. I hope things turn around and the algorithm stops messing with this channel, cause I love your content!
I know they are the most difficult for you to make, but I love the cooking/recipe videos. My next favorites are the podcasts. You have an amazing voice to listen to. I would love to listen to audio books done by your voice.
Hi Steve. I watch your podcasts weekly. I usually watch the cooking videos. I watch the glucose response videos. I usually skip the unboxing videos because I don't usually buy keto products. Hope this comment helps.
I get notified of your videos. There are some weeks I just don’t have time to watch any videos but I eventually catch up. I actually have the other problem with RU-vid giving me notifications of channels. I don’t want notifications on. Happens randomly. I would be interested in the recipe fails.
As soon as I log in, I click the bell to see if there are any videos from my favorite channels. I have to sometimes scroll to the bottom to find one from you, but I look every day. I noticed today that I did not see your review of Birch Benders blueberry muffin video, but found it from your end card. Too many bots trying to keep us safe from content and messing with the algorithm. I will keep looking for your videos intentionally and sharing your channel in my f/b groups.
Since I live in Brazil where most of the ingredients used are out of my reach, I don’t watch the recipe videos. I love the videos where you portray things that you’ve learned by testing, for example, vitamins that worked, glucose tests, lab results, etc… product reviews also doesn’t make much sense since I don’t have access to them
