Good point on being available to help others is another reason to have your EDC items on you. So many times in life I've found someone needs help and having those few items on your person works out anything from maybe tightening a battery connector to crimping some item or replacement of hardware to make a quick fix, using your knife to cut some chord or package for someone, too many things to mention. Great 👍 video
Cool.👍🏻 My EDC consists of a Gen 3 Glock 19 ( 3 mags.), Ruger LCP ( 3 mags.), Gerber MP600 I’ve had since ‘97, Benchmade Adamas 375 fixed blade (D2 khaki serrated model), Coast mini flashlight, and a Cold Steel AD-15 Lite. I may occasionally carry more blades, back-ups for back-ups. God bless.✝️👍🏻
I love your thoughts on why you still have a notebook and pen to write with! I still write every now and then too, I should do it more often because it’s so good for you!!
I like how you mention to carry a knife even if you don't need it because you need to be able to help those around you. When I was in the Marine Corps I came back to the barracks one day to find my roommate hanging from a thick web belt trying to kill himself. At the time I carried a CRKT m16 with verf serrations and I was quickly able to cut through the belt and got him help. I was a daily knife guy before that, but after I cannot leave the house without one.
YES To be helper of society, humanity, it is one of the most importent things in life, every one, each with their own special song - Thank you erica, may the birds sing for you today 🐦💜🐦
Good choices good thoughts especially the one about protecting someone else I can turn the other cheek but I’m not allowed to turn your other cheek I’m supposed to defend you bc that’s what sincere love is BtW love you a bunch
I carry very similar items and more when I’m at work. However, the Hitchhikers Guide taught me the most valuable item is a towel. I at least keep one in the car. My original Tinker is from before the pin hole in the scales. I would prefer an inline Phillips on the Super Tinker over the T-handle.
Great video, Erica! Such a great point about writing. I need a better pen to carry. Great choice on the SAK, mine is the Field master (Super Tinkerer + Saw). God bless you!
I prefer the Climber to the super Tinker. For one, the small screwdriver on the can opener works on a lot of Phillips. For two, I store a small paperclip inside the corkscrew. A straight pin in the hole and a paperclip in the corkscrew -- both very useful. Since paperclips are so cheap, you can feel free to bend them up for whatever. MeZillch's channel has a whole video on this and shows how a small sized one stores perfectly flush in the corkscrew. I copied him. The corkscrew has a lot of other uses, too, but once I started storing the paperclip it was "case closed" -- the Climber's better. :)
Some might say, but Pinki that Philips on the can opener can get obstructed on recessed screws. But you should have a keychain SAK, too, and then you can use the screwdriver on the fingernail file for that situation. :) (I carry the Rambler or the Manager because my most-used EDC Phillips is actually the smaller one you get on those.)
@@Pinki2019 I must admit if you use often the can and bottle openers it could be a little bit annoying 😅 but as I am used to do it it's quite fast and easy to do it ! Oh and in addition, you can put a little magnet on the upper side of the Philips screw driver 😊 have a nice day 🌿🌸 !
You may be the most badass, non bullshit woman on the face of the earth I love you. I'm so glad I found your channel although I prefer the compact over the super tinker 🤣❤️ keep up the great vids.
You have great EDC options and well thought out in how you do so. You covered several good points here, I agree with you about the importance of handwriting and having a pen and notepad as part of your EDC. I've carried an SAK for decades, I also rock a Super Tinker daily as well. Thanks very much for sharing and Cheers!
Hi Erica, great to see that you're trying out the Knipex Cobra XS. It's very versatile. Used mine as tweezers (they're precise enough to pull nose hairs lol) , bottle opener, pry bar, adjustable wrench, as well as general grabbing /squeezing implement. Super Tinker is a great SAK to carry with it.
Using phone for a torch isn't the best idea. (torch = light fro some humor) I keep forgetting to order a pin or two too. Take care and stay dry E (really wet late spring here).
Gotta echo the sentiments for carrying a note pad or a few sheets of paper. Sometimes if you've got to describe an object, maybe tool or a gadget, it's easier to sketch it out to show how it works than it is to try to describe it. If you've got to cut some wood to a certain shape, a rough sketch with some dimensions on will save you having to time and aggravation. Also if you've got to give complicated directions, a little sketch or a written list of turns and landmarks is much more reliable than trying to remember a whole list of vague instructions. A pen and paper are so useful.
Hey I just remembered on your other video about the pliers pinching you in your pocket..I’ve been carrying mine and I put a small rubber o-ring wrapped on the pivot and they stay closed! And you can still make adjustments with the ring on! Just passing that along! Great carry and great video as always! I wish RU-vid could comment with pics😅
@@ericasedc I quit carrying mine when I first got them because the jaws would stab me..but I had some o-rings left over from a car project I had a while back..and the idea literally came to me yesterday 😅 hope it works for you!!
i always carry a knife with me right now its a benchmade bailout plus victornox alox cadet as well as sog powerpint and a we knives pry bar lol plus some other stuff lol have a great day very cool videos
Awesome response! My edc is very similar to yours. For an average work day, on my belt I carry my pistol and a multi tool. In my pockets I've got two knives (one locking, one slipjoint), a bandana, wallet, and flashlight. Plus a whole bunch of other stuff in my jeep in case of emergencies. 👍Cheers, and have a great night!
Great carry philosophy, and I like personally that you talk about preparation and EDC in a positive and communal way, rather than the kind of paranoid and individualistic perspective you find in a lot of EDC chatter.
I’ve had the same super tinker since early 2000’s it’s about time for a new one the blades are worn down quite a bit but it still gets used multiple times a day mainly scissors and screwdrivers because I carry another knife as well. And definitely can’t leave home without a flashlight. Actually I have a flashlight problem and now I’m getting into customs.
“A wire stripper that no one uses.” Classic Erica! Pen & paper is how I focus and organize my day (life). If you have ever worked in a large shop/factory with no windows you will appreciate the value of a flashlight when the power goes out since many people panic in the dark. Underground parkades and the strobe bring out the lurkers. Love those small Knipex but here in 🇨🇦 they are pricier than the large Knipex. No one ever returns my BIC so I cannot bring myself to spend more on a pen. 🔪🔑📝🔦💵📱⏱💧?
