Im a native Idahoan, and love the Boise area. This is a senseless, horrible act of violence against a wonderful young man. I pray for his family and Law Enforcement too.

The identity of the man suspected of shooting and killing Ada County Sheriff's Deputy Tobin Bolter has been released by the Coroner's Office. 65-year-old Dennis Mulqueen died of a gunshot wound to the chest Sunday morning just after midnight. He was pronounced dead at Saint Alphonsus after life-saving measures were unsuccessful. Mulqueen is suspected of shooting Deputy Bolter as he approached Mulqueen's vehicle during a routine traffic stop.

My heart goes out to this community and to those Deputies. I grew up in the area of one of the largest Sheriff's Offices in the nation, they have lost many good Deputies over the years and the Sheriffs gave statements with little emotion, because they are so far removed from the day to day job on the streets and the men and women who work them every day and night. To see a Sheriff struggling (and failing) to hold back tears and trying to keep himself from totally breaking down during the press conferencethis is just a good community and a good agency full of good people up to the top. May you rest in peace Deputy Bolter. We will take it from here.

According to a "secret confidential informant," the 65 year old shooter had terminal cancer and was on his last leg. He had claimed being set up by the PD on the outstanding warrant charges. It is plausible that the shooter was penniless and felt he had nothing to lose. His end game netted a final transport & disposal on tax dollars.

What these men and women do to keep US safe!!!! I am so sorry to all who are and forever will be morning his loss.

I’m not the biggest fan of the police but videos like this breaks my heart… This young officer did not deserve that. My daughter lives in Idaho. I spent eight years in the Pacific Northwest. I’m originally from Jersey born and raised back here now I have a 28 year old daughter who lives in Post Falls Idaho is always nothing but good memories to me and the people are nothing but fabulous people. The communities were beautiful very family orientated. In my heart goes out to the officer and his family with much sympathy and respect.
