Welcome to Quy Nhon, the Vietnamese coastal city you've never heard of before.
Join us for a day of exploring this incredible city.
We ate delicious jellyfish noodles for breakfast with a sea view before chilling out with a street side coffee and sugarcane juice.
Then checked out a gorgeous temple before eating more delicious food in a really friendly Vietnamese alley spot.
We ended the day checking out the Quy Nhon cathedral before heading to the beach which at night is absolutely crazy and comes alive.
Quy Nhon is an underrated gem here in central Vietnam we love it here 🇻🇳

Local people are so friendly even they don't speak English but they try to have a conversation with you. How lovely. Make sure you visit the city centre at night to see how it turns into a busy place. It is hot and humid everywhere in South East Asia around this time of the year.

True, you don't find alot of Qui Nhon videos from foreign tourists . Same equivalent of Qui Nhon is Tuy Hoa beach, Tuy Hoa beach has hexagonal rock formations like those found in England. If you guys like these unknown places visit Tam Dao French resort town, located on mountain with cool climate but near Hanoi.. I don't know why tourists travelled all the way from Hanoi to Sapa when there's a same place right next to Hanoi. It's very rare to find video on Tam Dao by tourists. The spinning meat is cinnamon pork (chả quế) If you go to wet markets, you will the see the whole drum on display, the sellers would slice off how many grams you want to buy.

80k VND is about less than 3 BP . Those round mushrooms are straw mushrooms ( nâm rom ) because they grow on wet straw . Don't swim at that front beach. It's a bit dirty . Go to Queen beach ( bai Hoang Hâu ) where the last empress of VN used to have her private beach . It's located near the mountains that you can see from the front beach .

They are straw mushrooms. Banh canh is made from tapioca noodles. So it's a bit chewy but so good in a soup! I also love making rice paper rolls. It's so easy to make, easy to eat and very healthy. I grow lots of Vietnamese herbs in my little courtyard in Sydney and love it. I grow a lot of rau ram! Mint, lime, chilli, spring onions, lemon grass. Everything I need for Vietnamese cooking 😂😂 but my rice paper rolls are so simple. Boiled pork belly and boiled prawns with vermicelli rice noodles, lettuce, carrot, cucumber and herbs. The dipping sauce I make is just hoi sin sauce, crunchy peanut butter and chilli. I add a bit of water and fried garlic when i cook it up. Too easy! 😅 When you say sat ngon, do you mean rat ngon? My mum is from the south and not the north (buckee 😂). The women don't like to burn in the sun and avoid it at all times 😅

Cua does mean crab but it also could mean curve. That the tricky part of Vietnamese language. It depends on the context of other words before or after. So you wasn't wrong on your thinking of the word. It gets a little complicated when you add in the other marks to make a word go up, down, wave, question and hard stop. My family is from Nha Trang and Saigon. With business in Cam Rang (hotel and restaurant). I've been living in America for 40 years. Hoping to make it back home this winter. Glad to see you making it further up north. Maybe some day we will meet up. Enjoy your time. Vietnam is like a melting pot of the Asian culture with French influence. It's why you see a little bit of Chinese influence and Indian influence with temple and pagoda.

Forgot to add...I know it's the thing to do to toss the trash on the floor and such. But maybe you can teach them to just leave it on the table as the table will be wiped anyway and hopefully they are wiping it into the trash and not onto the floor at some point. I always leave my trash on the table or on a empty plate. I don't enjoy walking up to a place where trash is littered all over the floor like that. I know they sweep it up later, but that trash can still be blown elsewhere due to the wind or traffic or get stuck to people's shoes, etc. Also, as far as the plastic bags, maybe you can jump in and tell them no, as there's no reason for those bags. I watched a video earlier from Chai Travel where he interviewed a British guy about his Vietnam trip and the Brit mentioned how the person who invented plastic should be sent to Pluto and I agree.

@@EllisWR Yes, from the States. The price for the delicious freshly cooked food just kills me. I think VN beach cities have such a nice communal and healthy philosophy. VN locals go out to the beach around 5am to 6:30am to swim, exercise then they head home to clean up and go to work or school. That leaves it practically empty for us sun worshiping tourists who get the beach to ourselves for a sense of exclusivity. Then 4:30pm the VN locals finish work and school and come back out to do some more exercise, swimming and basically socializing with friends and families, the authority allows small vendors to make a living. The locals get complete access to their God given beach be it young or old, rich or poor. I've been to beach cities in the West or Caribbean and the nice beaches are exclusive to the expensive resort with rich foreigners and I feel bad for the locals. I must say your enthusiastic use of Vietnamese language is great. I think you'll get a lot of good will and help from the locals. I wish you and your girlfriend safe travel throughout VN.

Good to see you go somewhere most tourists don't go - but give it another 10-20 years and it'll be like other popular beach cities. The food looks great...although I was confused when you asked for banh cuon and she made goi cuon instead. If they call that banh cuon, then what do they call actual banh cuon? LOL! The bathrooms in Vietnam aren't that bad, usually a western toilet in any establishment. We don't need the toilet often when out and about but if so just ask any business kindly and nobody has ever said no :)

@@EllisWR Forgot in my comment , when you asked about the little gray balls the lady replied : " nấm " ( mushrooms ) . These round mushrooms are called " nấm rơm " ( hay mushrooms ) because people can grow them on hay . The aunties sellers you have encountered so far are quite customer friendly .

Straw mushroom. Farmers pile up dry rice plants (straws) after harvesting and they keep watering the straws till the mushrooms start growing. I love fresh straw mushrooms. I notice your meals are usually around £2. What could we buy with £2 in UK?

Liên Quân is the game the kids were playing. Arena of Valor is the English name. Anyway, Quy Nhơn is like an underdeveloped lesser known Nha Trang, but you know it's gonna become a decent tourist destination in the future.

Ellis. When you say "Cho toi" it sounds kinda informal LOL. If you're asking for something from someone that is older than you by 30 years. You would say "Cho Con". If its someone a little bit older than you then you say "Cho Em". If they're alot younger than you then you say "Cho Anh". But then again. You can say how ever you want to say it LOL.

Older than 30 years - "Cho Con" Older than you but less than 30 years - "Cho Em" Younger than you - "Cho Anh" Anh is for guys and "Chi" is for girls. I hope this helps. Unknown Vietnam coastal city? I've known it's Quy Nhon before I watch. Not quite the same par with Da Nang or Nha Trang, but surely worth a while.

It's just the title mate if I called it 'a day in Quy nhon' it wouldn't do very well :) we really like it here nothing like da Nang nice and chilled, friendly people and no foreign tourists
