Thank you Don for your service. Great stories and interview Your and your family's help for the younger serving soldiers is an example of true patriotism. May God bless you and yours.

My wife is a real estate and the company made a collection and sent every Canadian military in Afghanistan a coupon for Tim Hortons Coffee (a Canadian coffee Company)
Whatever the government buys for war, it has to be paid. We don't need wars to boost manufacturing. If you want to spend money to buy supplies, then make whatever you want and give it away. At least we will avoid combat casualties and the only burden will be economical. In the Vietnam case, after we left all the countries around there went communist, other than Thailand, which was a dictatorship, just as bad as communism, but we supported them. No, I don't know why we start wars and although I served 11 years active duty, they kept that secret from me. Screw it.
Read your history folks. I was a Commissioned Army Officer so I know that Officers are career war folks. Without wars Commissioned officers wouldn't have careers. But without wars this country wouldn't have economies so as unpleasant as it sounds wars have a reason.
3 Corps really took a massive hit of Agent Orange during the war. I feel sad for the Vietnamese who live with that reality. From the Delta up through Highway 13 is just a small reminder. Their children is far worse!
One part that hit home was about going to see how the locals lived in Vietnam. i am now married to a Vietnamese woman and have been many times to Vietnam and see how the Vietnamese live and what the country looks like today, any one who served there should try to see Vietnam today and how the country has improved
