The day started off in Taipei as my friends took an earlier flight with a layover. I flew direct and had to wait at the airport and edited the previous day's video. Coming back to Saigon was hectic, but I was glad to return to Vietnam. I dropped my bags off and headed to banh canh cua by Ngoc Trinh in District 7 and it didn't disappoint. Special thanks to Khanh and his parents for inviting us. Then we headed to Che Mam at 242 Su Van Hanh and ate a little bit before we got sick of it. After bidding my friends farewell I met up with Kim and her husband Tim visiting from my hometown and we chatted for a bit before I called it a night.

If I'm ever in Vietnam, I'd definitely visit this family's shop. I love how the dad (is that his dad? the American speaking Vietnamese in the beginning?) learned how to speak Vietnamese; that's love and commitment right there!

What an admirable young man from Connecticut, with open attitude and grace to go back to VN to visit his family and help them run the restaurant. His character reminds me of my favorite nephew. Humans like this are blessed and will go far in this life.

I'm going into my sophomore year of high school and I love visiting Vietnam all because of my mom. She pushed me to study Vietnamese ever since I was 6 yrs. old and I'm glad she did because I wouldn't have been able to communicate or even understand my family there. Being able to experience life there (as a local) is an amazing experience because it's way different than in the states.

Question, like I mentioned to you I watched your videos prior to visiting Vietnam for the first time, are there any good places in Saigon to fly my drone? Got stopped by the police today for flying around Nguyen Hue and City Hall

trust me it is not bad at all! I was like you, extremely scared since i havent been back in like 7 years so idk how much vietnam has changed and how it's like but my recent visit was very fun and eventful and it also expanded my perspectives on many things! Definitely go back when you can!

I wish, im sure we would have a blast eating grinders from Nardellis and pizza in New Haven and of course a hummels hot dog from Blackies. My next big trip will likely be to Indonesia where my wife is from. I haven't been since 2012. Keep up the great videos, man. I think the noodles are made of rice flour and tapioca starch, I just ate some with my Lao chicken soup, Khao piak.

Yup. Tapioca makes noodle chewy. I prefer udon because it soaks the flavor and that is how mom makes it. :-)

this channel aims to get rid of stereotypes. i came to vietnam with the same horrible mentality. when i opened my mind up to positivity, i realized theres a lot more to it than the past and the negativity.
